Chapter 17 - You should get the girl on your side.

In a cafe....

"Our blind date didn't pan out. Why do you keep asking me to meet?" Rubben asked with a questioning look as he raised a brow at the girl seated opposite next to him.

"Your expression! I don't really like it." The girl rolled her eyes distastefully. "Actually, I am comfortable with you" The girl added with a quite smile, making Rubben hiss.

"Miss Tina, I already told you..."

"I know!" Tina shrugged. "Even if you are my type, there's a line that I cannot cross." Tina mumbled.

"Don't cross the line, Okay? You'd better not cross it." Rubben sneered.

"Gosh! you are so cute" Tina chuckled. "So, Am I pretty today?" Tina asked in casual tone earning a glare from Rubben.

"You are really strange! Why did you keep asking me that everytime we met?" Rubben said with an amused smile.

"But you never gave me an answer" Tina blurted out while Rubben sighed with a bored look on his face.

"I got it, I won't ask you again. I am just curious why you make a line already...I mean, many man keeps on pestering me but you...!" Tina frowned.

"What are you blabbing about? You told me that, I am stupid, ignorant and cheap person that you ever met". Rubben utters uninterestedly.

"Rubben, You know what makes you more charming! Tina playfully cocked a brow, "Your expression didn't change anything when I spit that words in your face."

"Stop that....! Rubben words trailed off when his phone rang in that moment. He reluctantly picked the call.

"Hello, Dad...?

"Tina, I have to go." Rubben said after he ended up the call. "Bye, then" Rubben said as he stood up.

"You are just going!" Tina eyed him surreptitiously.

"See you." Rubben said pushing a stiff smile and walked out. "Seriously! This man doesn't really have any sense." Tina chided in her mind glancing at the door Rubben had just walked past.

Rubben cautiously sauntered into the living room where his father was probably waiting for him.

"Dad" Rubben greeted with a courteous bow before sitting on the sofa opposite his father.

"Should you be the first one to come here and gave an explaination?" Father Sel scowl, dropping the newspapers in his hands.

"Sorry, Dad" Rubben apologised nervously.

"So, What's your plan?" Father Sel feigned ignorance as he picked up his cup of tea and took a sip. Surreptiously stealing glances at Rubben from the side of the tea cup.

"I doubt you are just helping them!" Father Sel looked at him keenly as if he was trying to read his son's mine. "Don't you have an answer ?" Father Sel was almost stood up from his seat.

"Dad, why are always worked up?" Rubben frowned.

Father Sel regained his composure and suggest, "Why don't you just take over the gallery?" while Rubben shot up his eyes up to him superstitiously.

"Isn't that why you paid debts for the gallery?" Father Sel inquired.

"What...?" Rubben asked defiantly.

"That's not a bad idea. Land doesn't rot as long as the redevelopment restrictions are lifted. We'll make a fortune. You can spot opportunities to make money a mile away". Father Sel said as a matter of fact.

Rubben stayed silent giving him a scrutinizing look as he listened.

"The Duaghter of late director might be smart but She's naive and doesn't know anything about business. You know! There are already a lot of vultures eyeing the gallery." Father Sel continued.

"But Dad....She is not that naive" Rubben stated.

A smile appeared on Father Sel face as he looked at his son, "That's why you should get the girl on your side." Father Sel adviced.

Rubben eyes narrowed a little feeling stunned after he heard his father words. He heaves a long deep breath before he leaned back on the sofa.

Jisonia was still at a loss as she walked away the "Huls company". She was feeling so swarmed and depressed after most of the contract got cancel. She was really trying hard to convinced the patron in different company but nothing works out well. Going home wasn't going to make feel better, and right now she was truly missing her father. A walk in the park would do her some good, so she thought.

Jisonia lowered herself on a swing as she reminiced on her happy childhood. "Dad, What should I do now?" Jisonia said to herself in a shaky and small voice.

"I shouldn't cry like this, Dad I am sorry!" A heavy tear fall from Jisonia's eyes.

Unknowingly to Jisonia someone eyed her. A sullen look was plastered on his face as he turned to his driver and said, "Drive".

---Flashback-----

"Does that mean our dates will be here at this time everyday once we get married?" Prithib said as he wrapped his arms around Jisonia waist.

"Everyday..? you'll come here everyday with me." Jisonia circled her hands around his neck.

"Of course! I will stuck to you wherever you go like a piece of gun". Prithib moved his right hand towards her face and caressed her left cheek while looking lovingly into her eyes.
