There was a little girl playing with her dolls by the forest river, having a picnic with berries blue and red. She had a doll that looked like a Scarlet Knight and another that resembled an Azure Knight. The child made them herself and I didn't understand how she knew what they looked like when she had never seen them before.
In our little house in our village of Begonia, the people here were kind and cooperative with each other. They each help one another to flourish their homes with happiness and joy. Scarlet was always happy to see everyone here.
"Uncle! Uncle, look!" My black-haired niece showed me a bouquet of red flowers from her hands while looking at me with a splendid expression. "Barbara gave me these! Aren't they pretty?" She giggles happily.
I grin at her precious smiles and laughter, patting her head in return. There was a difference when it came to the people of this village and the work she's been doing at home.
Training.
When we arrived back home, the first thing she did was to prepare for her extensive training down in the basement. It wasn't all very dirty but consistent enough for a person to never go down there.
In there, her expression turns more cocky and serious when faced with blades of execution and other dangerous obstacles ready for her. These were the moments where this little girl shouldn't act like a child and had to survive the obstacles to live on.
It may have been much for Scarlet to face them head-on, but nevertheless she persisted to cross each obstacle with flying, scarlet colors. Her will to face her obstacles head on was impressive. More than what would meet her eyes in the future.
"Uncle, this course is too easy." My little niece was looking at me with disinterested eyes when she had to repeat the same warm-up course everyday when the training started. That's why it's been easy for her to get through the same one repeatedly.
"The basics are always the most fundamental lessons to become what you are, my niece. If you forget what started on your path of being a knight, then all other greater stuff wouldn't be as great without them."
Scarlet simply tilts her head towards me. It seemed like she didn't get it, but one day she will.
"The basics are always the important ones?"
"Yes, it's always the most important one of all."
"Then uncle, teach me the basics!"
