Two years just went and Emma and Elios decided to meet up and have a small date at the weekend. Emma was really excited and put a lot of effort to look good; Elios was already at the restaurant and was waiting for Emma. When Emma was on her way, she received a call from her chief and he said that she has to come to work as soon as possible and that it was an urgent case. Emma couldn't help but be disappointed and called Elios to let him know that she can't make it today.
When Emma reached the station; just by looking at the situation, she knew that it was a serious case. At the meeting, everyone was talking about their ideas about who can it be. Soon, one of them stood up and said, "If we see the details clearly then, it is similar to 'The Lily Murder Case' which happened two years ago. The killing technique is quite the same and this also took place at an alley where not many people passed by." Everyone agreed to it and the case was given to Det. Emma with Det. Henry. They quickly began the investigation.
After the autopsy of the body, they became more sure that it was the same culprit of 'The Lily Murder Case.' The way she died was that, first, the back of her head was pierced with a knife which was a butcher's knife. Then after she died, the killer drained all her blood out of the body and her thumb in her right is missing. It was cut out after the death. She was drunk and it seems like she even puked. The death took place at 5 in the morning and was found when a lady was taking out her garbage.
When the witness was being questioned, they saw that the lady was very shocked and couldn't speak nicely so they thought of giving her some time before asking the questions. When Det. Emma was looking through the files of 'The Lily Murder Case' she saw that it was still not sure if her boyfriend was the murderer or someone else. In both of the cases, they both were women and even lived alone. After sometime, they went to the witness and asked, "So… what were you doing there… when you saw the body?" The woman stuttered and replied, "I… I… was ju- just ta- taking out the… the trash." They continued to ask and she answered everything one by one. "According to the witness…" said Det. Emma to Det. Henry, "She was taking out the trash when she saw the body. It was 7 in the morning and that she heard a scream at 5 in the morning but thought that it was just the kids playing around as sometimes the kids play around at the morning."
After listening to the witness and hearing that the kids sometimes played even at 5 in the morning, the went to the alley and started asking the neighbourhood kids. They said, "We didn't play today morning as our parents didn't allow us to play at such an hour." After hearing the kids, Emma gave out a long sigh and started looking around. Suddenly, Det. Henry pointed out that there was a CCTV camera at the near convenience store from which they could see the alley's entrance. They went to the convenience store and asked for the CCTV footage and soon went back to the police station by collecting it.
When they were looking at the CCTV footage, they saw that the woman was drunk and saw that she went to puke at the alley as they saw at the scene that she puked and even at the autopsy results. When they were looking the footage for more than an hour and there was not even one person who went to the alley after her. It seemed like the criminal knew that there was CCTV camera so he took another route which led to the alley. Even CCTV camera was a failure. They were really confused of what to do and decided to go to Adelaide's house (the victim).
After reaching her house, they found many information about her. She lived alone and also lost her parents when she was young and lived with her grandmother who passed out 3 years ago and she didn't have any other relatives. She had an elder brother who passed away with her parents at a car accident. When they went inside her room, the started searching the drawers and saw that there were many medicines and they sealed them up.
Not finding anything at her house, they went back to the police station. They got the phone of Adelaide's which was given for repair as it got broken at the scene. When they opened the phone, they saw that there was nothing at her phone either and it was a failure too. By not looking any other way, they went back to the place where the scene took place. It looked as if the blood was drained at the scene itself but they couldn't find the rest of her blood which was drained out of the body. They came to the conclusion that the culprit either hid the blood somewhere or he can even keep it with him.
The blood from Adelaide's body was drained by cutting through her neck and was tied upside down in the water pipe of the alley which helped the blood to drain out of the body.
When Det. Emma and Det. Henry started looking behind Adelaide's past, they saw that she lived a quite life. She earned enough for herself and was also praised by her co-workers. After asking the co-workers in the company she worked in, everyone said that she was really kind, bright and even was really good at her work. She never once complained even though she had to work overnight. After talking with her co-workers, the detectives knew that Adelaide was divorced a year ago.
After knowing who Adelaide's ex- husband was, they went to ask him questions. When they went to him, they introduced themselves and started asking questions. They knew that he remarried some months after their divorce and is living a quite and happy life. When he was asked about why they divorced, he said that they were very different and always didn't come to an agreement and that they always argued with each other whenever they talked so they divorced and that the divorce was her idea at first and he agreed to it. By looking at the divorce papers and listening to him, they thought that he was not lying.
They couldn't find anything and it was already 11 at night. They came to an agreement that they would start the investigation again at to morrow morning. They were tired so they went home.
When Emma came home, she saw that Elios was there waiting for her by preparing the dinner. By looking at Emma, Elios smiled, just like he practiced. At the dinner, Emma told him everything about the case and that it was really hard and by listening to her, Elios just smiled. After dinner, Emma offered to help Elios with the dishes and both sat down to make their planes for the future. They were happy together and thought that, the happiness will last forever and ever. They thought that nothing will come in between them and nothing will happen.
The morning came fast and Emma and Elios both got busy in their work.
Emma went to the police station and started investigating with Det. Henry again. This time, Emma didn't wanted the case to close without being solved; she wanted to solve it no matter what it takes.
