"Ezgi, what happened?" I said again. We had already gone to Ezgi's room.
"Dad," she said, pulling the suitcase from under her bed. "She's sick."
"How did he get sick?"
"I don't know, Asli, they say it's a small heart attack, but I'm sure they said it so as not to upset me," she said in her tearful voice.
She was trying to fit the clothes she had scrambled out of her closet into her suitcase.
"Are you going to England?" I asked.
"Yup,"
"I'm coming too," I said immediately. I couldn't leave Ezgi alone.
"No, no. There's no need for that. I've already bought my ticket," he said as he rummaged through his personal belongings.
"But," I was about to start to grumble, but Ezgi quickly cut me off.
"You don't have to come, Asli. One of us has to stay here, you know."
"Okay, but I want to come, Ezgi."
