Chapter 47 - Taking The Witches down

Hearing Abel saying he has let him down, Mr. McCray let out a sigh before speaking up.

"You didn't let me down Abel, you see I never have my hope up that you would be able to hold your ground against him if you were to face off against him instead I'm glad to see that you are okay".

"But I could have stopped her from retrieving the lady, instead I ended up being beaten" said Abel with a sad look on his face.

"Look boy, what you should be happy about is being able to escape death and not being unable to save someone, and let's not forget that you have your mother and sister who still care about you, how do you want them to feel when they discover that you have passed away" asked Mr. McCray.

Able couldn't find the answer to the question and decided to stay quiet. Meanwhile, Lydia who has finally who has already gained consciousness turn to her left to see if the lady that they were protecting was still there only for her to discover that she is nowhere to be found.

"Did we fail to protect her?" she asked.

"look like it dear but don't worry, we still have time before they were able to complete the ritual" reply Mrs. Davis with a smile on her face.

Lydia let out a deep sigh as she lower her head as she mutter beneath her breath.

"I'm still too weak to be able to do any and have to rely on Abel".

Hearing her daughter complaining about being weak, Mrs. Davis couldn't help but chuckle as she place her hand on her hair and begin to play with it.

"Silly girl, it's not bad to have someone to rely on, even I have to rely on your father and some friends some time so don't get angry about being weak okay" replied Mrs. Davis

"But now that they have taken her away, how are we supposed to get her back before it's too late" asked Lydia.

"Didn't you have someone who help you in discovery their plan earlier, why don't you ask her for help one more time" reply Mrs. Davis with a smile.

"I don't know if I would be able to reach out to her" said Lydia with a sigh.

"All you have to do is focus on making a connection with her from the other side and call on her for help" advise Mrs. Davis

"There no use in trying anyway since I have already let her down" said Lydia.

"Come on dear, why don't you just give it a try" reply Mrs. Davis with a smile.

Since her mother is insisting that she give it a try, Lydia decided to since they don't have any means of locating where the witches could be performing the ritual after they have been attacked previously. Taking a deep breath, she decided to close her eyes and focus hard on making a connection to Isabel but no matter how hard she try, she just couldn't get to her.

"it's not working mother, I just can't get her to come out" said Lydia in frustration.

"ha-ha is not that easy to make a connection with those on the other side girl, it takes time and patience for you to be able to establish a connection, so why don't you give it another try" suggest her mother.

Nodding her head in reply, Lydia close her eyes one more time as she tries to establish a contract with Isabel but this time around, she decided to call out her name. After calling out her name several times, there was finally a reply from her.

"you failed to stop them" said Isabel before she begin to manifest in front of her.

"We must have failed right now but there is still time for us to stop them but we can't do that without your help" reply Lydia in a pleading tone.

And seeing Lydia talking to herself, Mrs. Davis knew that she had finally established a connection with the ghost and decided to give her some space. Watching his wife walking back to him, Mr. Davis couldn't help but ask.

"is our daughter speaking to s ghost" he asked and by the look of things, he was not the only one who seem to be surprised about it since Abel have been looking at her ever since she started talking to herself.

"I think we will be able to locate the witches a moment from now" reply Mrs. Davis with a smile.

Meanwhile, after communicating with Isabel for a while Lydia was able to get the location of where they would be continuing with the ritual and decided to end the connection with Isabel before heading back to meet up with the others.

"So were you able to get help from the ghost" asked her mother with a smile?

"Yes mother, according to Isabel, they are heading to the cathedral to continue with the ritual" replied Lydia.

"See, it wasn't that difficult to make a connection with those from the other side" said Mrs. Davis with a light chuckle.

"We might have known where they would be continuing the ritual, but the problem now is how are we supposed to get there in time since it is a 10k/m from here" asked Abel.

Now that they are been reminded of the distance to the cathedral, they couldn't help but fall silent since they is no way that they would be able to get there on time before they are done with the ritual. Seeing that they were not able to come up with a way to get to the cathedral on time, Mr. McCray came up with an idea.

"if I am not mistaken, they should still be on their way to the cathedral, I suggest that Abel and I should go ahead to interrupt them since they are not together at least that way we would be able to slow them down".

"then I guest that we would be coming from behind" reply Mr. Davis as he also agreed with the idea.

"Alright then, since it has already been decided, let's get going" said Mr. McCray while dragging Abel along.
