Darren
To my annoyance, I wake up to the sound of my usual alarm. Wait, I stayed at the base last night. And that's the smoke detector. I hear Ren's sounds of annoyance and a few gun shots. With a sigh, I roll off of the guest bed. Throwing on some pants and walking out into the kitchen. I see a fire on the stove, Amora frantically fanning it, even though she knows better, I see Ren pulling bullets out of the smoke detector I need to replace, and I see AJ, sitting on the counter laughing his ass off. This is a great way to start a morning. And completely natural I'm sure.
"Soldiers!"
I yell at the idiots trying to burn my base down. AJ and Ren fall into line with a salute. I always prefer the drill sergeant approach, because I get to scream at them without one of them replying with a snarky remark or an unimpressed look. I look at Amora expectantly, confused, she slowly walks over to stand next to them and salutes. I eye each one of them carefully.
"What in god's name is going on here?" I look to Amora for the answer, the other two stay silent waiting for her to respond. "Amora." I prompt her. "Oh! Uhhh, well, ya see…" I stare at her with an annoyed look on my face, meant to intimidate her when the truth is, I am very much intimidated by her. I can't let her know that though, she'd use it to her advantage as soon as she had the chance. "I don't know how to cook." She says with a high, mouse-like voice. I stare at her for a few more moments. "So you set my kitchen on fire instead?" She looks away from my eyes. I keep mine locked on her. "Collins." I bark, AJ steps forward. "Put out that fire. And for the last time, keep your ass off of the counters." AJ rushes to the sink to get a glass of water to put out the flame. "England." Ren steps forward. I turn to face him, and I feel Amora release a breath of relief. "What did you do to my smoke detector?" Looking me directly in the eyes Ren tries to hide a smirk. Just because he's psychotic, doesn't mean he has no sense of humor.
"I shot it, sir."
"And why the hell did you do that?"
"It would not shut up." his face falls flat, as if the reason was obvious.
"Oh, is that how you solve problems? In that case why don't you pop a cap into AJ. It'll finally get him to be quiet." AJ chuckles as he leans against the counters, having completed his task.
Amora gasps, I put my gaze back on her. "Do you have a problem, Ripley?" she stays silent,
"I asked you a question, soldier. Do you have. A. problem?" she casts a glare at me. "No sir." She says with venom. I step back from her "Good then." I say with a wide, welcoming smile. I clap my hands together. "Now clean up this mess. Someone wake up Raven and let's have a proper breakfast."
