Chapter 65 - CHAPTER 64: Using the crystal.

A few days after he had gone back to the fortress Sirin had already recruited three more demons. These seemed to be a bit older than himself, but their messy bloodlines prohibited a fast growth in power. Where as Fyseryra was clearly a succubus and Sirin was at the verry least closely related to smoke and flame demons, these were harder to fit in such categories.

But that didn't really matter. Sirin didn't need them to be powerhouses as long as they could take on some humans.

When he was just done with summoning and making a deal with the fourth one, he decided that he had enough subjects for the time being. Now he would also need to focus more on his own power he couldn't risk any of the new demons overthrowing him, and them all teaming up against him also wouldn't be fun.

He just deeded to stay ahead of them. they didn't necessarily need to fear him, just respect him. What he had seen from humans was that fear and hatred was a terrible way to rule. If by chance something appeared that was feared or hated more, the subjects wouldn't be as loyal anymore.

After he had shown his newest subject, Arfros, a tall red demon with one broken horn, his place to guard and hunt for souls, Sirin returned to his throne room.

Fyseryra was standing next to his throne. She had her back straightened and calmly looked at him. If not for the fact that Sirin could hear her breathing and heartbeat, he would have thought that she might had been frozen in place like this.

Sirin walked past her and nodded. "Prove your worth, you have competition now."

Fyseryra couldn't help but glance at the entrance, hoping that the other demons wouldn't pass by. Apart from Arfros, there was Monere, a pretty muscular demon with pitch black skin and red glowing eyes. There was a smaller one that looked like someone had glued a human upper body to a centipede named Zaril. Then finally there was a small cat like demon, its name was Nachiko, and it was usually flying to make up for its size.

As Sirin walked through the hallways to reach a more isolated room, he came across Danish.

"What is it?" the demon hissed at the man when he realised that this human was mustering up the courage to speak to him.

"Mighty demon lord, I humbly…"

Danish couldn't finish his sentence as he was interrupted by Sirin's cackling laughter. "If you're addressing me all fancy like that then you must really want something. Come on, spit it out. I'm curious."

Danish seemed a little irritated but continued. "I wish to either receive more power from you, or for you to teach me how to wield it. It's not enough, I simply need more."

Sirin sighed. "And here I hoped that you would ask me something that was more fun to monkey paw. Weren't you in it simply for the love and passion of your arts, with my magic just being an extension? I'm really disappointed in you now. why don't you go bother Hendrik then? I'm sure he can make some sort of meaningful student teacher bonding moment out of that."

Just as Sirin was about to go further Danish spoke. "You don't care, do you? What to the other people and those dark creatures you called from the depths of hell have that I don't? how can I get your attention?"

Sirin shrugged. "That's right I don't care. You're just here because my friend wanted you here." As Sirin walked away he could see how Danish was balling his fist in anger.

Eventually Sirin settled in a study room. This one didn't specifically belong to Hendrik so he wouldn't have to worry about accidentally being disturbed."

He took the red crystal from his pocket dimension. The cold, stone like object, shined with a blood red potential. He couldn't look through it. Not even light would sine through, yet it resembled a gem awfully much.

After fining out that nothing he did could damage it, not even his magic or the system he spun the glistering object through his fingers.

He sighed as he took one last look at the crystal-like object and then placed it on his chest. He knew exactly where to place it, as he had seen wee it was on other demons.

Immediately his surroundings turned black, and he was overflooded with a coldness unlike he had ever felt before. He felt as if he had been transported to the icy depts of the ocean.

There was no sound. At least no real sound. But slowly a thought begun to enter his mind, his soul, the system. At first it seemed to be only one but in a matter of seconds it turned into a thousand. Though they all belonged to the same creature.

The moment he realised this, three yellow, burning eyes appeared and the system was sending so many error notifications that he felt like he was about to faint.

Then the cold and darkness disappeared. He had to blink a few times to adjust to his surroundings.

The room he was in was pale white decorated with golden writings. The floor had a sign almost identical to the one he had seen in the tower when he was trapped in the storm.

Once he started crawled up, he heard someone rush in.

To his surprise it was a demon, the same one who he had encountered back in hell when he tried to go home. Only this time the demon didn't have his companion with him, and he wore white armour with red and golden details.

The fiend kneeled in front of him to help him stand up. even now that Sirin had grown a lot from when he first encountered this blue demon, he was still significantly larger than he was.

"You gave us all quite a scare." The blue demon said in a rough voice while his blood red eyes glanced over Sirin. "We thought a creator fragment might have decided to show up and cause trouble. Luckily it was only you."

He walked out of the room and gave Sirin a sign to follow him.
