I opened my eyes. It was dark out with artificial lights that I couldn't quite see the source of illuminating the area. We were standing on what almost looked like a landing platform. It was a square piece of what looked like metal about 2m by 2m wide, that was raised several inches off the ground. Donovan let go of my arm and told me in a gruff voice to "get off the teleportation platform before someone lands on you". I stumbled off the platform, still disoriented from being what I could only assume was teleported from one place to another.
As I stood watching, another man wearing similar clothes too Donovan, appeared on the platform with a young man in his grip. The boy also had a small bag of possessions similar to me and I gave him a small confused smile, he just looked dazedly in my direction before being hauled off by his guardian. I turned to Donovan. "Who was that boy and the man with him? Are they like you and me?"
Donovan looked at me and a quick spark of surprise danced in his eyes. "You might be brighter then I first gave you credit for, small fry," he said with a twitch of his lips. "Come on, I'll take you to your dorm then you're on your own from there." He started off a brisk and I took a good look at him for the first time. When he passed under one of the lights I saw that he was dressed in a dark uniform of some kind with slightly unruly dark hair that almost hung over his eyes, a sharp contrast to my just-past-shoulder length dirty blonde hair, that was currently tucked back into a braid. He was tall and I could tell he had a lean muscular physic through his fitted clothes.
I jogged for a minute to catch up to him. "There's something I don't understand. Why did you call yourself an intergalactic salesman? All you did was kidnap me and drag me here, which I assume is Artemis."
He looked over at me. "Maybe you're not so bright after all. I must be a pretty good salesman if I sold you on coming to Artemis even though you hadn't met me before or heard of the planet."
"Selling an idea and abducting someone are completely different!" I yelled back at him.
He smirked at me. "It's the same thing".
"No, it's n--"
"We're here," he announced abruptly, cutting me off mid-retort.
I looked in front of my and saw what looked like an ordinary dorm building, bordering on old fashioned, it looked like it was made out of bricks. He mockingly opened the door with an "after you, my lady," I barely heard as I stormed past him into what appeared to be a sitting room, with comfy chairs and a wood fireplace in the far wall. To either side of it were two hallways. "Girls are on the left", I heard Donovan say before the door closed behind him as he exited the building.
