Anyone in a situation like Luke's would clearly see two options ahead. You either let Jace know you heard him and face the awkward moment of not being able to find a good reply or you act like you didn't hear a thing and Luke chose the other.
But sadly didn't forget to not anger Jace during his stay here because Jace might do something crazy to him.
They stared at the screen of Jace's laptop as Jace zoomed in on Holden's study table when Luke kept looking around for his sachets of painkillers. Maybe an empty sachet or an half used one but immediately, he found the sachet in Holden's hand, who was squeezing it tightly like he was so mad.
Mabel kept fumbling with her fingers and the both of them could see she was nervous. Holden all of a sudden bangs the sachet on the table to have Mabel fly out of her seat hurriedly.
Jace and Luke watch nervously. Holden looked seriously angry and Mabel looked like a scared cat right now. They couldn't move both their eyes from the screen afraid they would miss something important.
Mabel took two steps back away from Holden who suddenly brought a knife out of his pocket, so fucking weird.
He smiled weirdly at Mabel and rushed towards her with the knife to have Jace and Luke scream like girls and hurry over to the room.
In not less than thirty seconds, they were already at the room door banging hard like fools before remembering that the door was open so they rushed in but the scene they met scared the witts out of them
Everything was Fine......
................
After staying for a long time at Foodies place. Megan knew she had to head home in the end. It wasn't like her Mom was home anyway. The woman was just in town.
She tugged at her blonde hair frustratedly, picked up her car keys from the table, after paying up her bills, she made her way out of the restaurant.
Meanwhile another blonde kept staring at the retreating figure of her look alike. Her baby girl had grown into a fine young woman. The younger version of her if you asked or probably if you knew this particular blonde when she was younger, then you would know that the retreating figure of the other blonde looked like this exact woman.
She was at the restaurant ordering when she saw Megan walk in. Her face lit up brightly that she had almost forgotten the waiter who was taking her order. Different emotions passed through her as she stared at Megan. Pain, regret, excitement and love.
After having told the waiter everything she needed, she then went back to staring at her daughter.
She remembered the words of her ex husband and father in law. ' Megan has gone through a lot of stages without you. She's a grown ass woman now and she might not want to see you'. Those words had hurt her bitterly but she knew she brought it upon herself.
She just wanted to be there when Megan clocks eighteen on Monday. She wants to be there for Megan and even move here if that was what it takes to gain Megan's affection back.
Many years ago she made a decision which had influenced the lives of everyone around her, but the relationship it affected the most was that of her and her daughter.
She wanted to hurry out and catch up with Megan, maybe ask for her forgiveness, show that she was ready and willing to do anything but then the sight of Megan's frustrated face from a while ago would flashed through her mind.
She watched Megan for a long time and only saw her order two bottles of ginger ale as she drank and ran her fingers through her air frustratedly. She set her lips in a thin line before finally rushing out of the restaurant. she had already settled her bill so she left to the parking lot.
Megan was about driving her cute lexus jeep away from the premises when a thin tall figure came in her view covering her face because of the intense light coming from the headlights on her jeep.
" If you can't stand the lights so much, why did you get in front of my vehicle? Move away", she yelled and the person moved away for her to drive through. She was about yelling at the person once again when she caught sight of the face and she abruptly stopped the car.
Uncertain, and also feeling like she was in one of her stupid dreams, she called out, " Mom.....", the woman smiled at her lovingly and she was sure it was her mom. She came down from the car and slowly walked over to her to touch her. She still felt it was unreal and when she did touch her and the woman kept smiling at her lovingly, she suddenly felt sick.
Megan didn't want to say anything, she was at the verge of breaking down but she wouldn't do it in front of this woman. She slowly retreated her footsteps and like she had just seen a ghost, she ran back to her car, got in hurriedly and drove away.
Wendy just kept staring at the car as it drove away recklessly, the look in her daughter's eyes before she left pained her, what did she expect? She hurt Megan, she hurt herself too.
