The other three cars, scared, hurriedly applied their brakes, but it was already too late!
The giant spike iron ball had swept over.
On the other side, Su Mo kicked open the car door and immediately crawled out.
"Big brother, what the..."
Sun Duoxiang and the other three, enduring the pain, also crawled out. He had just started to complain when he saw a scene of extreme ferocity, which made him shiver involuntarily.
The police car following them was completely smashed, with blood staining the ground red.
Several of Zhang Hao's surviving minions were crying and screaming as they ran towards Su Mo and the others.
The little girl turned her head to look at Su Mo and the others, her mouth gaping even wider, full of a sinister smile.
"Hee hee! (*∩_∩*)"
At that moment, the bracelets of Su Mo and the others vibrated, displaying a message.
"Type I mutant."
"Run!"
Su Mo didn't hesitate to order, as this monster felt extremely dangerous, much more so than the butcher, not even in the same league. Without heavy weapons, they would probably have a hard time inflicting any substantial damage on it.
The group immediately put all their effort into running as fast as they could.
"Our luck just can't get any worse."
Sun Duoxiang lamented with a grimace as he complained.
"Cut the crap, if you have that energy, just run."
Su Mo's face was also extraordinarily grim.
Just then, Dan Dan, dragging the huge iron ball, was about to chase after Su Mo and the others. Suddenly, a massive horde of zombies burst from behind her, surging past her, and chased after Su Mo's group.
"Su Mo, a large number of zombies are catching up."
Lan Xi turned her head to glance back and said to Su Mo in a panic.
Upon hearing Lan Xi's words, Su Mo turned his head to look, and his heart sank.
He looked around and set his eyes on a ten-story building ahead, shouting.
"To that building!"
"Okay!"
Zhang Hao hurriedly responded.
They then rushed into the building, with Sun Duoxiang slamming the glass door shut behind them with great force.
Smash!
The entire door frame warped and then fell to the ground.
"Can't you be gentler?"
Lan Xi too was in a panic.
"I, I just closed it casually."
"Upstairs!"
Su Mo ordered in a deep voice, now was not the time for quibbling.
No sooner had he spoken than zombies crazily squeezed their way in, prompting Zhang Hao and Mark to immediately open fire.
Bang bang~~
Some zombies, not hit in vital spots, kept charging forward.
Su Mo swung the Tang Sword in his hand, each strike hitting a vital spot, one cut per zombie.
The seven of them fought a bloody battle as they retreated upstairs.
But they only guarded the staircase and had no intention of hiding in the rooms.
And indeed, with Su Mo blocking the front, there was an air of being the sole guardian against thousands, no matter how many zombies rushed up; he always managed to kill them immediately.
Gradually, the number of zombies surging seemed to be dwindling; Lan Xi and the others couldn't help but sigh with relief, feeling temporarily safe.
However, as beautiful as the thought was, the reality was cruel. The base of the entire building was already surrounded by countless zombies.
Dan Dan, trapped amongst the zombies, seemed enraged. She swept away the zombies blocking her with the enormous iron ball, clearing them out like wind sweeping through fallen leaves.
She then dragged the iron ball step by step towards the building.
On the sixth floor of the building, Su Mo killed the last zombie with a slash.
"Luckily, it's just these minions that caught up."
Sun Duoxiang said with relief.
"Hell, we're trapped too."
Lan Xi said helplessly.
"Let's rest for a moment and then think of a way."
Su Mo replied in a deep voice, his thoughts somewhat in disarray. However, from what he remembered, they were not too far from the safety zone. But the longer they delayed, the more precarious their situation became.
It was clear that with many people moving towards the safety zone tonight, it would inevitably attract a large wave of zombies toward the area. Although the safety zone was certainly prepared for defense, its outskirts would become increasingly dangerous.
Boom~
Suddenly a loud noise erupted, and the entire building began to shake violently.
"What's happening?"
Sun Duoxiang asked in horror, holding onto the handrail.
"I don't know."
Zhang Hao had never seen anything like this before.
"Why do I feel like the building is... leaning?"
Lan Xi said, trembling.
Su Mo's face changed drastically as he replied, "It's that mutant; she's tearing down the building!"
"You're kidding, right? How twisted! What do we do?"
Sun Duoxiang clung to the handrail tightly.
"To the rooftop!"
Su Mo led them running frantically upstairs.
"Okay, okay..."
Soon they rushed to the entrance of the rooftop. Just as Sun Duoxiang was about to open the door, Su Mo held his hand back.
"Don't open it yet."
"Huh? Why?"
"The building is going to fall, if we go out now, we might get thrown out. Everyone, hold on to the handrail tightly. We'll face the impact right here. Once the building crashes onto the nearby structure, then we'll go out."
Su Mo said, trying his best to remain calm. When he had entered the building, he had observed the surrounding terrain. As long as the building was of good quality and didn't fall forward, there would be buffer points on the other three sides.
All they could do now was to pray, hoping the building wouldn't collapse completely as soon as it fell.
"Okay."
Lan Xi and the others all grasped the handrail tightly.
Bang~~
Under the mutant's fierce attack, the building tilted more and more severely until it finally fell to the right.
Boom~~
The massive vibration threw Sun Duoxiang and the others out. Some collided with the walls, others rolled down the incline, letting out anguished cries of pain. However, because they had instinctively protected their heads with their hands, there were no fatalities. Despite this, everyone still suffered cuts and bruises to their heads.
Once Su Mo had stabilized himself, he proceeded to open the door to the rooftop, fearing that it might have become deformed and jammed.
Fortunately, luck was on his side, and the door opened immediately. He turned his head and shouted at Lan Xi and the others.
"Get up, move fast!"
Lan Xi and the rest, gritting their teeth, got up, not taking the time to check their injuries, and followed him out.
Su Mo and his group made it to the rooftop, just as the building had collapsed onto the rooftop of the adjacent building. They immediately rushed over.
Boom~~
The falling building shook violently again as Dan Dan continued to smash it, seemingly dissatisfied with its collapse, wanting to bring the entire structure down.
Su Mo and the others lost their balance, and those with poorer stability fell over, rolling around like tumbleweeds.
Some ended up crashing into the rooftop's concrete protective wall.
"Ow"
Sun Duoxiang and the others clutched their chests, letting out pained howls, feeling close to death, despite the pain being dulled,
"Move quickly! The building's coming down!"
Su Mo pushed himself up from the ground with one hand, somersaulted to his feet, and jumped onto the top of another six-story building. Thankfully, these buildings were sturdy and didn't crumble at the slightest impact like shoddy construction would, though the places that were hit did collapse a level. Su Mo then shouted at Lan Xi and the others, his instinct telling him that this building wouldn't last much longer before collapse.
Lan Xi and the others staggered to their feet and ran over lopsidedly.
Su Mo reached out and pulled them over one by one.
"Wait for me."
Sun Duoxiang, trailing behind, called out anxiously.
