It's Sunday morning and also my first time meeting with my first love, Valeria. She and mother is totally good for delivering some foods for my breakfast. But it's so embarrassing when I meet them with this massed up pose. Oh damn Lucas, you have no attitude. It drives me crazy. But it ain't really crazy when I see Valeria smile. She's so pretty and perfectly cute.
"long time no see Lucas, how've you been dear?" asked Mrs. Buckley when I opened the door.
"hallo Mrs. Buckley, long time no see. I'm great, thanks for asking," I replied and let them enter to my house.
"okay I'm glad hearing it. Ehm....anyway, I made some sandwiches and hot soup for you. Do you drink hot milk every breakfast?" told her by putting all those meals on the table.
"no, I don't. It's hot tea"
"really? I'm glad, Valeria's dad always brings us a lot of chamomile tea and it's boring for us. Do you like it?"
"great, I love it"
"alright, I will take it for you, wait a sec dear"
Mrs. Buckley leaves us directly after said it. I feel deep awkwardness between me and Valeria, of course we didn't meet for a long time and I suddenly came back here. There is no topic for talking about. Valeria just silently looks at some pictures in this room's wall, and she smiles of them.
"I think nothing would change between us," she said softly.
"what?"
"we were very close"
"when we were little?" I guessed it.
She smirks at my words and stares at me. I can feel there are a lot of meanings in her eyes.
"I'm glad seeing you back Lucas," she added before averting her gaze.
"I'm glad too..... anyway, you still play violin?" I asked.
"oh you saw it, didn't you?"
"yes"
"that's my first playing after all"
I'm really damn shocked about those words. "what do you mean?"
"I didn't play it for a long time"
"why?"
"nothing.... anyway, you have someone you love so much?" she guessed it directly and made my emotion's massed up.
"what are you talking about?"
"oh, I'm sorry, my bad. Your grandfather gave me an old key. He said I had to give it to you when you came here"
I'm totally silent about it. So is Valeria, I can feel her hidden emotion when she put an old key on the table. I don't know what kind of key it is. But when grandfather gave it to her to kept it well, it means this key is so important for him. And this situation makes me think about it a lot.
"have you guys made good conversation after all?" Mrs. Buckley said cheerfully.
"it's..... uhm....." I tried to explain all.
"certainly mom, we got amazing conversation after all, right Lucas?" Valeria asked cutting my words.
"uhm yes," I replied nervously.
"I'm so grareful. I think you both would have awkwardness conversation after long time no see. And if you know Lucas, Valeria stopped her playing violin since you went to the city. She just felt lonely for all," Mrs. Bucley added and explained all.
I glanced at Valeria who now only looking at me coldly after realizing her mom's explanation. There is no expression on her face, but I can see a lot of meanings in her gaze. Her meaningful gaze has never changed after all. I look at the old key in my hand, it must be very important. Do Valeria know about it? Or grandfather just hid it by himself? it's like, I have to ask valeria immedietly.
"by the way Lucas, do you want a cup of tea? I will make it for you," Mrs. Bucley offered.
"it sounds good"
"okay, well, I make it for you"
After that, Mrs. Buckley quickly goes to my kitchen to make a cup tea like she said before. And this awkwardness moment is comming back between us. Valeria just silently puts the sendwiches on the plate and cleans the dining table.
"could you follow me!" my ordered suddenly.
That's such as surprised words for Valeria, she stares at me directly. There is look of anger and dissapointment in her eyes, and it makes me blame myself after all.
"absolutely," she replied it coldly.
I start to walk and Valeria follows my step. I invite her to my room and talk with her personally.
"this place hasn't changed at all," she mumbled softly.
"you have never come in?" I asked.
"not at all"
Valeria was changed. She was not that cheerful girl anymore. She became a cool woman, and I understood about it. It's my fault, what happened many years ago was because of me. And I blame myself about anything happened until this right now.
Valeria just silently and quietly sits on my bed. She looks at me seriously like there are a lot of problems and wrongs between us. It's not totally wrong, that's what's happening now and I realize it well.
"I don't have much time to do it, what do you wanna talk about?" she asked.
"oh yes, the key. What kind of this key? You said tha my grandfather gave it to you, you might be know anything"
"no, I just kept it"
"lier"
"up to you. I said honestly," she replied.
"you might be know a little thing about this key"
"not at all, I just did what your grandfather wanted"
"is that so?"
"it's absolutely right"
"just tell me if you know about this key Valerie, I beg you," I begged.
"I told you all I know"
"but you told me nothing," I replied furiously.
"yes, and that what I knew about that key"
"you knew nothing?"
"your grandfather told me nothing. He just wanted me to keep that key and gave it to you. He just said that the key would change your life and it's so important for you," she replied.
" so what kinda key it is?"
"I dunno, it's like not kinda door key," Valeria guessed before she leaves and leaves me alone in this room.
It's totally complicated, my mind thinks hard about what Valeria said a while ago. I dunno but it's weird.like there is a big thing my grandfather hiding for me and my family. I don't think so that my dad would know about these all, He's a person who doesn't really care about what's going on around him. And it'll be better if I don't tell him anything. But.....
"it's like not kinda door key? So what?" I thought hardly.
