King Salem Mohamed paced around in his room, fuming with anger. He could not believe that such a thing had happened in his castle, and during his reign. His own concubine had tried to steal from him; what did she even plan to do with the necklace? Sell it?
Who would have the courage to buy such a sacred and prestigious item, only a fool in the Kingdom of Manila would dare to do so, unless she intended to see it to someone outside the Kingdom.
But why did she even need to steal and sell? What did she need the money for? He provided the women in his chamber with everything he believed that they needed, so what more could she want?
Perhaps she was not content with what she got, she was greedy and that is why she chose to do such a thing. King Salam Mohamed found her guilty and deserving of a punishment worse than death.
The King's thought was disturbed by noise coming from outside his chambers, he wondered what was going on, today was so full of drama. He called out to one of his guards and the royal guard ran in to answer him.
"What is going on out there?" The King asked curiously.
"Your highness, Lady Aisha is outside your chambers, she insists on seeing you even after we warned her off, so the other guards are trying to drag her away," the guard reported.
King Salem Mohamed sighed and scratched his head, he wondered why Aisha was so stubborn, why was she making this difficult for him? Did she have a death wish?
"Alright, tell them to let her in," the King instructed. He wanted to know what was so important that she risked her life to tell him.
The guard nodded and bowed, then he walked out of the room. King Salem Mohammed sat up from his mattress and walked to the window, he didn't want to see the face of that traitor.
Few seconds later, he heard footsteps and he knew that it was her, she had walked into the room.
"I thought I made it clear that I didn't want to see your face ever again? Why did you show up here again? Are you desperate for death?" he growled.
"My King, I wish not to die by thy sword. I have not come to plead for your mercy nor persuade you to believe that I am innocent of these charges, I have only come to make a final request, and if not for my sake, grant it for the sake of your unborn child," Aisha replied from behind.
The king took a deep breath in and exhaled, then he turned back to face her. "What else do you want from me? Haven't I done enough?" he queried.
"My King, I have only come to request that you let me go with my maids, I would need support out there and I have no one else, I beg you to grant me this wish."
King Salem Mohammed clenched his fist and crumpled his face. "Are you serious right now? I left you alive and now you also want me to send your servants along with you?" the King barked.
"I know what I am asking for has never being heard of in this Kingdom, a slave dies in her master's house, but I plead you do me this last favor and I would never show my face before you again, grant me this one last wish, your highness," Aisha pleaded in an appealing voice.
The King growled and turned away from her. If he did this, then he would be breaking a lot of rules for her sake, he already pardoned her life and now she was asking him to free his maids from the laws of slavery that bound them till death. Wasn't that a bit too much for a traitor to ask?
Aisha went down on her knees immediately. "My King, please do this for me and I will be indebted to you for the rest of my life," she pleaded.
The King turned. "I doubt you have any life left, it's just a matter of time before you die in the hands of the desert predators. You can go with your maids, but bear in mind that the moment they step out of this castle, they are banished as well, they can never come back to Manila ever again," the King stated.
Aisha nodded and stood up. "I understand that, your highness, we would never come back here again, thank you for approving my request," she replied and bowed, then she turned to leave.
She walked to the door and paused, then turned back to face the King. She wanted to see his face one last time before she left, because she probably won't ever see him again.
Even though she was just a concubine, she had loved this man more than she loved life itself. It is unfortunate that their journey had to end halfway like this. Her only consolation was the child in her womb. She hoped it was a male and he would be as great as his father.
Aisha left the King's chambers and walked back to her tent, she met Monica and Cecil waiting to hear the King's reply. She nodded gently at them, signifying that the King had permitted.
They hugged her happily and consoled her as she broke down in tears again, her whole life here was over. She had been accused of theft and banished from the soil that gave birth to her, the soil she believed would hold what was left of her when she was old and dead, but that was not the case right now.
Aisha sent the maids to go and get something, she did that to send them away as she needed some private time. When they were gone, she held her baby bump and cried out loud.
"My boy, the world has rejected us; they have thrown us out of their lives. But we shall get our revenge on all those who fought against us; we shall get our revenge on those that took everything away from us, those that wronged us will face the wrath of your blade. You shall scorch the life out of them like the blazing sun and tramp upon their heads like a predator. All those responsible for our pain would know no peace," She cursed amidst tears.
Her time was up, she had to leave the Kingdom immediately, if she valued her life and the life of her child.
