It had obviously been a busy night for the Chicago PD. He and the security halted at the end of the hallway in guise of a door with a portable window.
The security opened the door and told him to move on inside and crouch on the distant flank of the wooden table.
A woman wearing a gray suit with her brown hair twirled into a roll sat in the seat closer to the door.
"Ah, you must be the attorney they promised me."
She whirled her head enough to behold his countenance. And he recognized her.
"Eve?" Holy crap! Way to give rise to a decent impression…
"Good morning, Ethan."
She opened the folder on the table and let out, "I'd predicted there were two people with the similar name. I never anticipated to see you here." She fluttered him over to the seat on the opposing side.
Ethan gobbled. He deliberately made his path to the other flank of the table and crouched down gingerly.
