It was as if every bone in my body called out for that power. A power that would redefine the world.
I awoke in a forest alone and unable to remember how I had gotten here. The last thing I remember was playing some RTS Kingdom simulator on my new computer. "Hello, is anybody out there!" Ashe called out but there was no response. "Argh what is this!?" A burning sensation covered his hand. He grabbed it and looked to see what was causing it and that is when he saw the marking etched into his skin. "Some kind of rune marking? Whatever it is, I need to find a way to get to some kind of civilization."
"That does not exist anymore Ashe." Came a voice that seemed to resonate inside his head. "Who was that, where are you?" He replied frantically. "I am right here." replied the voice as his arm began to glow a warm red color.
"What the!" He looked around for some water to cool the warming sensation but found none. It took Ashe a few moments to realize that it was in fact warm and not burning anymore. "What did you mean but there are no more civilizations?"
"You have been transported to a new world that your kind touches rarely. It is a chance to start fresh and rebuild from scratch. Here you will be given the task to create a kingdom that rivals that of any other kingdom you have ever known." The runes on Ashe's arm informed him as he looked around.
"A new world you say?" He smiled and looked at his arm. "So are you some kind of companion that will help me make this new kingdom?" He grinned as he waited for the response. "I am here to assist Ashe Dunwal in creating a kingdom to rule all kingdoms. Please call me Ruby" He jumped in the air and pumped his fist up. He was motivated to get to work. Looking around he scoped the area out. "Dirt, Tree's, I think I hear a stream out past the trees, there's a mountain not too far from here. Perhaps it would be a good spot for me to set up a mine.
Motivation was dripping from Ashe as he walked up to a tree and looked at it. It was not long before he realized a glaring problem. "Hey Ruby, without an axe I can't really chop down a tree and not only that, making a kingdom all on my own is going to be near impossible. Got any tips?"
Before him opened a character sheet like in the video games he had played in the past. It showed a page that was pretty empty aside from the enter which had a chest icon that was flashing. "Woah! What is this? Some kind of present, do I click it?"
"Yes! Go ahead and open up your newbie package." Ruby responded with a bit of cheer in her voice. He tapped on the screen and the chest made a creaking sound before opening before him. Then confetti popped out and a few things after that. 5 points, A contract for a Lv. 1 adventurer, 10 gold pieces, Clothing and a travelers bag that made him look like a commoner in a fantasy world, and a gacha ball looking thing that said one use, random weapon. As well as a small purple slime.
"Wow, that is a lot of stuff to give a newbie. Is this going to help me make a kingdom?" He asked as he started putting stuff away. Keeping the contract and gacha ball out. Let's see what this ball gives me. Fumbling around with the copper looking ball there does not seem to be a way to open it. "Ruby, how do I open this ball thing?" glowing in response "You throw it on the ground and out will pop a random weapon from a large selection." His eyes sparkled and he looked at the ball. "Could I get an idea of what kind of weapons?" A large list popped up and showed just about every item in the world that could be a weapon including improvised weapons like bar stools and mops.
"Let's hope I can stick to just the cool stuff." He half smirked as he kissed the ball "Come on daddy needs a new pair of weapons!" He threw the ball and it made a big poof noise as smoke exploded from it. Coughing for a considerable amount of time Ashe waited for the cloud to dissipate and when it did he saw something that kinda killed the wind in his sails. "A butter knife, really?"
A banner popped up above the butter knife with the words "Congratulations you have received a Butter Knife +1" He stomped the ground and looked pissed off. "Are you trying to mess with me?!" Looking at the contract he decided to ignore the butter knife. "What is this contract Ruby?" In an informative tone Ruby responded quickly.
"The Adventurer contract is worth 5 gold pieces and is something that when given to the adventurer's guild will allow you to become a bronze level adventurer. With that you can begin your journey as king of kings." Thinking back to all the games he played he knew fast ways to become a strong adventurer but that would require risky moves and he was not confident in his ability to revive. "This is a purple slime. Am I supposed to kill it like my first fight or is this a cosmetic pet?" A buzzer sound was made in his head that sounded like the wrong answer. "This is a material slime. If you feed it objects it will slowly take the attributes of those objects while it's digesting them and fight with you or do other things for you." looking at the slime it did not have any facial features so he was not sure how to look at it. "Well, let's hope you come in handy little guy."
