Carla and Selia walked behind Albert to return to their room. On the surface, they were calm, but inside both of them, a feeling called fear filled them. What Isaac had whispered earlier was still ringing in their heads.
"I don't know what Conrad's purpose was in sending you to this house. I will let you do what you want. However, if you guys start getting in the way of my and Albert's plans, maybe I'll ask Albert to kick you out."
No death threats there. Isaac had no intention of hurting them either. But the last threat shook them up. They were the ones Conrad sent to spy on the Randalls and assigned to be Albert's Servants.
For five years, they worked, and the seeds of love grew between them. It was something neither Carla nor Selina expected.
