Chapter 30 - 28. My Fated Mate

"Sweetheart, these gentlemen and their son came from the police station. They were led here and have important information that benefits our Yeon."

"Even so you, I have no faith in the police or anyone else affiliated with them. If they are indeed from the police station, they are only here to further cause discomfort to our son." Yeon's father was struggling to control his temper but because of the presence of the children, especially Yeon who may get agitated, he chose to lower his tone as he spoke, glaring at the three strangers in his home.

"Please, sit down. My husband is very sensitive when it comes to our son." Yeon's mother gestured to the two gentlemen together with the one whom they had introduced as their son. Afterwards, she walked and sat next to her husband. "Suzzie and Niel, would you excuse us please."

"Sure." Grabbing Suzzie's hand, Niel dragged her to Mijin's room.

"Since my wife seems to have become fond of you, may we know why you are here. I had thought we were done with the police for today."

"Sweetheart, their son is the one who saved Yeon's life from those kidnappers. He fought them all by himself with his bare hands..." Yeon's mother replied excitedly.

"That...that wasn't the case..." Stan couldn't help interrupting. Yeon's mother had been ecstatic after finding out he was the one who had found Yeon however, her husband seemed a little scary even after the revelation, not to mention, he could smell his scent and they were almost as strong as Yeon's. From his reaction, his wife seemed to be the one calming him down. She did it so naturally...so easily that it was barely noticeable. Stan pretended not to be aware of the exchange of scents between them. If he were to show any sign, they'd realize he was already fated.

"We apologize for intruding. I won't pretend we didn't take time to properly research about your son. We are not policemen either. Our son was also called today at the police station to identify the fourth culprit since he'd come face to face with him...."

"You saved my son's life...and for that I thank you." Yeon's father said, overwhelmed by the the emotions that were chocking him, and embarrased to have scored them before hearing them out. At least, one person had actually done something to protect his Yeon. "I apologize for my rudeness earlier. It's not easy for me to accept or watch the pain he had to silently endure, watching those monsters react to his scent has agitated me greatly. Besides, there has been little development to the case since the criminals were apprehended."

"We understand how you feel." One of Stan's father added. "Both our children's lives have completely changed after that incident. The person behind it all may still be out there...that's why we are here to make a proposal." Turning to look at Stan, he added, "will it be okay if Stannie were to meet up with your son since they haven't seen each other for a while?"

Stan struggled to contain his anticipation. He hadn't expected to be meeting Yeon this soon, especially after he'd briefly sensed his scent and gradually tried to calm him down. He knew Yeon would perceive it, he just hoped it was enough to prevent him from going into heat.

"Dad...I think it may be too soon to see him especially after we've just arrived..."

"Nonsense child, you saved my son's life. I'm sure he'll be happy to see you." Yeon's father responded with confidence.

"I agree too. Yeon has been quite lonely these past couple of weeks. Today is the first time in our lives I've seen a lot of people coming to check after him." Glancing at her husband, she added with a smile on her face, "this day is turning to be such a colorful day."

"Indeed." Yeon's father responded and proceeded to gesture to Stan where Yeon's room was.

Once alone, Yeon's father's face dropped the moment he glanced back to Stan's parents. "I will not be fooled by your innocence. I could smell my son's scent briefly then it disappeared. My wife and I are fated so our ability to perceive other people's scent is minimal. Please do not be alarmed by my son's scent. His marking was incomplete that's why we are working tirelessly to find him a pair."

It was true they had sensed Yeon's rosey sweet scent. Who could have missed it? In fact, it was too strong it made them a little dizzy. Stan's parents looked at each other for comfort before returning their glance at Yeon's parents. "We are not fated but paired so we can perceive the scent much more. I admit it's quite distracting however, do not be guilty of it. I'm sure Yeon is having a difficult time the most in this case. It's only natural he'd react that way after being constantly provoked by his fated mate's scent."

The look on both Yeon's parents clearly showed they were unaware of their son's state. Was fated mates perception of other people's scents that bad? How could they not sense it? The entire house reeked of it. If it wasn't for what Stan had done moments earlier, their son might have gone into heat.

"What do you mean by that? Yeon is yet to pair with anyone. The young lady whom you'd met me with is his selected pair...unless you know something we don't." Yeon's mother inquired, hoping to not be disappointed with another news about her son's misfortune.

"Our son begged us not to say a word on our way here but as his parents, we fear he is succumbing to the need to protect your son...he has already used the power of fated mates once..."

"What? Even my wife has never used that on me!" Yeon's father exclaimed.

"Sweetheart calm down. Remember Yeon's marking is complete that's why he is constantly a prey, vulnerable to anyone who may react to his scent which need I remind you, Mijin has constantly informed us of how strong it is." Looking back at Stan's parents, she asked, "Your son...is he fated to ours?"

"Yes. He informed us it happened the night your son was almost kidnapped. He responded to your son's scent, thereby unlocking his scent manifestation. Once he got closer to your son who also reacted to one of his unlocked scents, he realised who your son was to him."

"But Yeon...we didn't know...he only releases one scent as per our daughter since he is rarely happy." Yeon's mother added looking worried.

"Mijin!" Yeon's dad called out. His voice thundered the entire house and despite his wife's efforts to calm him down, he still kept on calling his daughter's name until she showed up. "Tell me about your brother being fated."

"Damn it! This was all Stan's fault. Now I'm in trouble again when I haven't done anything wrong." Niel appeared behind Mijin as if willing to take any blame that may be thrown at his girlfriend.

"If it isn't your man-boy coming to defend you..." Her father said accusingly.

"Dad stop calling him that. Niel doesn't know about this. I only recently discovered too that Yeon was fated...but seeing he chose to keep it a secret from everyone, what could I say? I'll stand by my brother..."

"Even if it kills him? Your brother has been depressed for a month and so have we been stressed finding him a pair which clearly was a waste of time now that he is fated!" Yeon's dad was already on his feet and his wife was forced to release large amounts of scent to calm him down. Looking around form everyone's reaction, he could tell his wife was trying to get a hold of the situation. He hated that he couldn't tame his anger, especially recently after what had happened with Yeon. Sitting down, he apologized to his wife, placing his head on her shoulder.

"Please call Yeon and his rescuer Stan. They need to be here to hear this." Yeon's mother said, a stern look on her face that Mijin had no choice but to obey.

Glancing at Stan's parents, she added, "I'm sure you understand why my husband is like this. Having Yeon and Mijin almost cost his life, not to mention in our time, a marked male by a female was highly shunned upon. We had to undergo a lot as fated mates and seeing that you have such a wonderful son, I can only assume the similar pain you both went through at child birth, which will now be the fate of our poor Yeon. Your son must do everything he can to protect him. This is what worries my husband the most."

"If you will allow us, we can train them both well as long as they stay with us. We are both medical practitioners and we live secluded from city life and seeming that we are paired, we can clearly sense both their scent incase either of them goes overboard. Our son has however expressed his discomfort in marking your son at the moment. He wants to prove himself worthy to your son before completing his marking since your son seems to be in love with another."

"Don't touch me!" Yeon's yell to Stan startled everyone in the living room. Stan was walking behind him and behind Stan, Suzzie and Mijin followed. Everyone's eyes was on him. Scanning the living room, he was unable to recognize the two gentlemen who stood on their feet and walked towards him, embracing him with such familiarity as if they'd known him for such a long time.

They both smelled like Stan.

"Who are you?" Yeon asked looking confused.

Before either of them could respond, Yeon's father replied in their stead. "Parents to your fated mate. You must go with them."

"What? I'm not fated to anyone..."

"You must discard all feelings of whomever you believe you're in love with. There is no further need to search for a pair for you my son. These two gentlemen are here to take you and their son who happens to be your fated therefore, get packing. Mijin can help you with that."

Glancing at the two gentlemen, Yeon started to notice familiar features on them, as if he'd met them before. They were both tall and good looking just like Stan was, almost as if they were related.

"Meet my dad's. This is what I wanted to tell you myself but my dads seem to have beaten me to it."

Stan's statement sent Yeon to spin around to face him. There is no way this was true...there's just no way! There had to be a mistake.

"You and I are fated mates Yeon."
