(Glaive's point of view)

This is bad.

The attack on the entire city of Quaran. That is the gigantic problem I am expected to be able to solve this time. Such is the duty of the protector of justice, a Champion. A man from one of the groups of foreign guards had the ability to track how many people he designated as 'ally' or 'enemy' in any given region.

Even he didn't expect this sort of problem as they didn't show up marked on his internal map. The only logical conclusion would be that these people didn't come from a place that was very close to the city which, in turn, means they teleported in. The guards requested my help in taking care of this threat and I ran around the entire city, subduing the weaker ones and killing the stronger ones.

Only I am capable of doing this as I am the only one who has an ability that lets me travel great distances. People think my ability is some sort of transportation ability that lets me teleport in a radius of 10 meters. Because of all of those rumors and the fact that no one knows my true limits, they don't know my weakness.

The only ones I told my weakness to were the other Champions, my most trusted friends, and the young prodigy known as Alexander. The real name of my ability is Spatial Overlap. It allows me to halve the range between my body and a certain object. To explain it in simple terms, my ability lets me travel, let's say 40 meters, by folding 80 meters into half, hence my ability's name.

After I fold the space, I take one step onto the folded layer. When I return the space back to normal, the folded piece of space I am on brings me along as it goes back to it's original location, allowing me to seemingly teleport. Of course, I can do this with any part of my body, not just my feet but, it is more effective and practical when I use it for travelling.

My only weakness is that I can only use it up to 20 times an hour without fail. After that threshold, my accuracy for moving to a different location drops gradually and significantly. That is why I like to rely on my physical speed during battle rather than my ability. I just hope that I will be able to save as many people as I can without relying too much on my ability.

<"I don't know who any of you are! I don't care about any of your circumstances! In light of that, I declare war on any murderers here and I won't stop until every one of you burn in the pits of Hell! Also, whoever's watching all of this unfold in the comfort of their room, I'm coming after you!">

Is that Alexander's voice?!

I look around until I spot a small spot in the distance hovering above the stadium. Don't tell me that he is still hanging around in the stadium!? No matter how much of a prodigy he is, he can't take on multiple adults without assistance!

I immediately turn around and start running in the direction of the stadium as fast as I can. I still have 9 more successful Overlaps before I start to lose my accuracy. I think I can make it in time and take out any guy who attacks us without using any of them. You just need to hold on for now, Alexander!

(Back to Alex's point of view)

"Heaven Collapse!!!"

I send as much Mana from Calido and the gemstone into Aether and amplify it's power using my God energy. I'm going to make this whole thing explode and leave no survivors at all. This is the kind of revenge everyone who died to these people would have wanted.

"Don't do this Alex!"

I stop charging my explosion. That voice is awfully familiar...

Kyra.

I spread my tendrils around as fast as possible to find the location of Kyra. I find her right next to the casting device which was supposed to be showing the Proving to the rest of the continent and to the important places around the world.

Did she turn it on?

Never mind that now.

I need to get her to safety. I move closer towards her and attempt to grab her when she starts shouting at me.

"You can't do this Alex!"

"Don't tell me what to do! I'm trying to stop all of this madness and you, of all people, are trying to stop me from doing this! No one understands! Not even you-"

*Slap*

"*Tone & Mood Change* Shut up, Alex! You think just because you are older than me means you can do whatever you want!? You're the one who doesn't understand anything here! I can sense the Mana building up near you. The explosion you'll make won't just affect the stadium! It will affect the houses and buildings outside of it as well! You need to get back to your senses!"

Huh?

Did Kyra just slap me...?

It wasn't even Brutal Kyra who did it. The slap came before Brutal came out. The normally passive Kyra just slapped me, as hard as she could as well.

...

She's right.

I need to stop. I need to think about this rationally. I almost blew up the houses and the people who were close to the stadium without even thinking. To think that Kyra, of all people, would be the one who told me that.

Wait.

"Kyra, of all people."

I whisper that to myself. I just shouted at someone I loved. I got angry at a person I was trying to protect. Why didn't I realize this much earlier? She is all by herself, even when most people have already evacuated already. She ran away from Uncle and Aunt just to come back here to me, where the danger zone is.

She is the one who is always scared, always wanting to resolve things peacefully, and is submissive. Brutal Kyra is much braver but, she told me before that everything she does is to protect her other self. She would never purposefully put themselves in danger because of me.

That must mean that, the Kyra who is scared, the one is innocent, the one who never saw death in the eyes before, was the one who came here. She is the one who snapped me out of my anger even though the thing she would like to do the most right now would be running away. I might as well repay her kindness through Soul Rejection.

My body is still burning with hatred so, I will use that to my advantage. I feel my soul separate from my body. I then steer it towards Kyra so that I can thank her.

"Um, Alex, is that you?"

"Yeah, don't worry about me."

<"You will all die!">

"But, you are there-"

"Let me thank you. I almost lost myself but, you let me get back to my senses. In return, how about I help you out?"

"But, how?"

"Brutal Kyra, are you there?"

<"Divine Dynamo!">

I hear my body shout out an amazingly dramatic move name. I turn around and see it create gigantic ropes made of darkness which tie up every bad guy in the stadium. The remaining ropes split up and multiply and (I assume) tie up bad guys located outside of the stadium. My body is doing so well without me.

"How long are you going to stare off into space?"

"I have a proposal."

"What is it?"

"Do you want to be whole again?"

"!...What do you mean?"

This was part of my plan to make it up to Kyra. She has Internal Dichotomy which, I assume, is due to her soul being split apart into almost two separate entities. My power is from Death God which means, I might be able to heal it for her but, one of them will disappear due to them fusing back together.

"I can fuse you together again and make you whole."

"... You're not spouting shit, right?"

"Ha. Of course not."

...

"Can you really do it?"

"I already said I can. Does this mean you have no qualms with potentially disappearing because of the fusion? Don't you have anything to say to your other self?"

"Well, if we're fusing, then that means some parts of me will live on inside of her so, it is not like I will disappear completely. Just, tell her this. 'Make sure that you keep on living your life, without anyone influencing your decisions. Forge your own path without me. Oh yeah, and stay away from any boys'."

"That... is a weird last message."

I get ready to fuse their souls but then-

"One last condition."

"Huh?"

What else?

"Make sure that you never make her cry. Make sure that you will always protect her from danger and, lastly, always be there for her to offer support. That is all. Just tell her that I was the one who sent the message."

"Alright, Kyra. Or, should I say, Ray?"

"Heh. I grant you permission to call her that as well. Just don't lose your mind every time something bad like this happens again, for her sake as she might try to stop you just like this time."

"Sure thing. Farewell."

"Bye."

...

"Bang!"

...
