Author's Note: All of you long time readers should know this already but, for new readers (I am not thinking that you didn't read through my whole story yet (≖_≖ ), these character introductions are usually only a bit shorter than an actual chapter, from 700 to 1100 words. Also, this is after the year and a half long time skip. Sorry, for the weird chronological order!

I am the Champion of Space, Glaive Kaneduro.
No, actually, that kind of introduction is a bit overused already. Almost everyone famous I know introduces themselves to regular people like that. Okay, how about I try this again.
...
My name is Glaive Kaneduro. You may know me by my famous nickname, the Champion of Space.
God, no, that sounds way too cocky for someone like me. This journal writing thing is very hard you know? I don't know how all of those historians and philosophers and researchers are able to write books with nearly a thousand pages when I can barely do an introduction.
Oh well.
You see, a friend suggested that I make myself a journal that records the stuff I do in my life. He says that it can be critical as people in the future might find this journal and adapt it into some sort of biography for me.
But, being famous isn't really my thing. I only accepted the title of Champion because I would be able to save people. Oh right, this is supposed to be about my life, right? So, let's start off with my childhood.
This might be a bit surprising for all of you who are reading this if you knew me as a great person who saved lives. Well, all great trees started out as a small sapling in a huge world filled with them. I was just your ordinary village boy.
I was born on the Anteo continent, the continent controlled by demi-humans. I never really liked the idea of racism as I literally grew up as one of the only human children in a village that had mostly demi-humans there and some demon families. I learned from watching them that humans are not all-powerful as I was weak compared to other children, some even younger than me. It was mostly a regular life filled with honesty, hard work, and good cheer.
But, that simple life was broken one day when I saw a carriage arrive at the gates. It was something I usually saw on the streets like street carts but, this one was much more intricate and elegant. When the doors opened, I saw a young boy who looked like the same age as me come out with a couple of guards.
That was how I met my best friend. Over the course of a few days, I started talking to him more and more, only because of my curiosity. But, we somehow connected. Boys with different upbringings, statuses, and, heck, even different continents! People from opposite sides of the spectrum treated each other as best friends.
And, that wasn't even the end of it. One day, the both of us were exploring around the town and we met a small girl sleeping on the ground in a deserted alley. She had beautiful white hair and white eyes (something we found out after she woke up). But, what really drew our attention was the fact that she had small horns on her head.
When we woke her up, she looked scared. I looked at my friend and he looked at me. We both thought of the exact same thing. We would help her try to find her family and become friends with her as well. When we asked her name, she said that her name was Alyssia.
She was unusually nervous around us and didn't open her mouth at all. That changed over time. She became very bright and happy, though still shy around strangers, something Ray got from her. But, I noticed something a bit off about her appearance.
Her mouth had weird teeth. And when I say weird teeth, I mean she had abnormally long canines. That was when it hit me. I remember my father telling me about the kinds of demons my great-great-great-great-great-great-, well, you get the picture. He said that many demons had horns but the ones with the smallest ones were the ones that did great damage to human soldiers.
Succubi.
And, another demon that devastated human armies were immortal demons called Vampires. They had characteristically long canines and the ability to suck blood and absorb the life force of those they bite.
It occurred to me that my new friend was part-Succubus and part-Vampire. I wanted to tell someone but, I remembered something. Just because some individuals from her lineage might have done bad stuff, it doesn't mean that she did. And so, I kept that secret to myself and my friend. A secret that is, hopefully, still a secret, even until now.

That was the first main unit in the biography of Glaive Kaneduro. Next one will be his adolescent years.
