Chapter 64 - Motto of my life

I feel like I would be much better if I were truly alone, no one to rely on and no one to rely on me. When I was 7 years old, I tried to help my grandmother with making dinner, and when I did with my small hands and dirty fingers, I believed I did my best, my thought was, this help is much more than nothing, that was what I thought but I was wrong. I remember the words she said to me after I looked at her all proud, after I finished my task. 'Da-hee, everything you touch turns to a mess.' Such simple words, a bit cruel but simple all the same. Some would forget those words but they have stuck with me from that moment on; like the motto of my life, "Everything would be better if Da-hee wasn't here to make a mess"

As Mr Lee was in his office he heard a knock on the door. " Come in" He said.

"Hello Dad"

"Oh, how are you?"

"I am ok" Hwan says as he sits down on the couch in his father's home office. Ever since their emotional conversation about Da-hee and their relationship as father and son, the pair have grown closer. They began to talk from time to time about their day, about the plan and so on.

"What brings you here, did something happen?"

"No, everything is fine. Everything is quiet. I am just glad that Uju is back home safely."

"Yes I am glad too, that poor girl." Mr hwan says as he gets up from his desk to sit closer on the couch with his son. "...and that boy is still being held there. Have you been able to contact da-hee? I have been trying to reach her but for some reason she is unavailable."

"No I have not spoken to her for a while now."

Hwan could see that his Father was worried and he was pleased. He never knew that his father was such a compassionate Man. 'If only they had a closer relationship earlier.' He thought to himself.

"Da-hee is strong." He said to his Father. " When I first spoke to her, I thought to myself, I have never met anyone like her. she is resourceful and intelligent, if there is anyone that can figure this out, it's her."

"Yes, I don't doubt that, but she shouldn't be alone still, no matter how strong you are you shouldn't go through so much alone, it could break you. Tsk, I will keep calling her, maybe she will eventually respond."

Hwan, also being worried then asked his Father. "When you say break, what exactly do you think will happen?"

"Well she could end up hurting someone or herself."

As da-hee arrived on her motorbike to a building in the middle of nowhere, she got off and carefully looked around. Then she turned on the torchlight on her phone and blinked it 3 times and then she saw a light that repeated the same pattern, and a man came out of the woods and walked towards her.

"Mr Ash, it's been long. I was worried you would forget about me."

"How could I possibly forget the 18 year old girl that blackmailed me in a bar."

"I hope you still don't hold a grudge against me."

"Of course not, would I be here if I did? You said you had a proposal that I wouldn't want to miss."
