Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 — Departure

Before Jun had the system, his comprehension could be said satisfactorily. With the newfound power though, his comprehensive skill has alleviated tenfold. Aside from the [Five Elemental Fist], it only had taken him two days for both the [Lightning Flash] and [Lightning Feet], and the freshly gained [Earthen Fortified] one day to learn.

[Earthern Fortified] paled slightly compared to the prior gain martial techniques, but its consumption of Qi was lesser. He could use it for two hours consecutively with other martial techniques, and Jun wouldn't get exhausted.

Presently, Jun and Bing Xiumei sat together in the dining room. These past few months, Jun had a rough understanding of identity.

The grand daughter of the Grand Elder. A young Martial Master, and the number one genius of the Sacred Ice Palace. Before she lost her internal cultivation, she was proficient in ice elements. Only a few could compete with her in the Seventeen States, and she was even ranked in the Human Ranking Board compiled by the Imperial Dynasty.

Usually, this kind of heaven-bestowed talent isn't experienced in miscellaneous tasks. They have all kinds of people serving them. Bing Xiumei, on the other hand, cooked pretty well. Not only that, but she also has a good sense of taste when it comes to fashion. Jun had handed her a rough sketch of the blueprint yesterday, and her eyes had lit up when she received it, pretty interested in the exterior designs of the [Modern House] which can only be found on earth. She had especially requested Jun that she would work on the interior design, and when it comes to her, Jun would agree no matter what.

However, Jun had his set of principles. She was his top priority, but when it's life and death, there was no way he would prioritize her over him, his life is more important, after all. If she die, he would be sad, but he won't forget to exact vengeance. Of course, if she was a part of his life, he would do any means even if it means death.

"The food's good."

Jun praised as he cheerfully ate the food laid on the table. The dishes today were more than usual. Bing Xiumei has particularly decided this since he was departing today. She had told him she cooked very well, and oh boy she didn't disappoint. The dishes tasted too good on the mouth like there were butterflies on his stomach. He had no complaints.

"It's a pity there are not many ingredients. Jun, why don't you bring some?" She was casual in her tone ever since Jun had told her not to be respectful to him, it was also due to how young Jun was. However, Jun wasn't sure if it was really due to his words or she realized something. But anyway, either side of the coin was healthy.

"Seasonings?"

"Yes, salt is a top priority."

"Don't worry, I have a good memory." Jun smiled and took a mouthful of the bowl of porridge. He then drank a cup of water and leaned, feeling satisfied.

Bing Xiumei stood up, taking this opportunity to present her art. "Jun, what do you think of this?"

Jun looked at her as she laid the scroll she held in the hand to the table. Opening it revealed a detailed sketch of the interior design.

Jun scanned the design, and the more he looked, the more amazed he was. This design actually 70% looked similar to how a modernized house would look, and Jun had to admit he was inferior to her in terms of talent.

"The ideas seemed promising. The living room is accessible as soon as you stepped inside. The windows are also positioned in the right place, enough for the sunlight to seep in, but also minimize the heat; the symmetry is brilliant, I must say." Jun pointed around the blueprint as he said, "The dining room and the kitchen room are also satisfactory."

Bing Xiumei listened quietly and the words make sense. She was not up for the praise but an analysis of her design. Jun had been talking about the good things, and she knew it was time for the terrible part. "However?"

Jun smiled, "Actually, I'm quite satisfied with the bedroom. There are enough space inside and the wall decorations also seemed pleasing in the eyes, normal people would be satisfied just with that. However, have you thought about the location?"

"Location? Can you further explain?"

Jun nodded and pointed in the middle of the blueprint. "Actually, this might be my fault for not explaining this properly. This unfinished part is a staircase."

"A staircase in the house?" This was Bing Xiumei's first time hearing this kind of house. The residences of the Cultivation World were equated to the houses in Ancient China, so the idea of two-story has never been applied, unless one was building a pavilion and restaurants.

"Indeed, a two-story house. The first floor comprises the Dining Room, Living Room, Warehouse, and kitchen room. As for the second floor, it is intended for bedrooms, and if you preferred to have one, a study room."

After Jun explained, there was a silence. As soon as she was done contemplating, she asked, "It fitted well, but would that work?"

"Leave it to me. I'll polish the blueprint and you'll work to layered its details. You're very artistic, I'm pretty sure you'll do a good job than me."

"Thanks for the praise." Bing Xiumei was happy that her effort was acknowledged. She said, "When will we start?"

Jun pondered for a while. Making money at most would take him a few days, and he was not sure how many days it would take to relay the message of Bing Xiumei's safety. After thinking for a while, he finally decided on the day. "The trip might take around a few weeks or even a month, but I'm pretty sure I'll be back between that time. We'll start the constructing as soon as I returned."

"No problem." Bing Xiumei said, "While you're away, I'll try working on the design. I'll also lay my hand in the blueprint; if there's something you're unsatisfied with, you can revise it when you're back."

Jun nodded and stood up, preparing to leave. "I'll be heading out now. And take this for your cultivation."

Jun handed him a bottle of moon essence pill, which contained ten of them. Jun sometimes received two times or three times on his daily sign, so he always give the extra to Bing Xiumei for her cultivation. Jun was not stingy when it comes to her.

"Thanks, Jun."

Jun would insist no matter what if she don't accept them. She had told him that she didn't need the pills one time, but Jun urged her to accept it, and that she didn't have to be courteous when it comes to these things. After witnessing the phenomenon a few days ago, Bing Xiumei assumed this was the world of bigshots and the pill was nothing to him. Actually, he was easy to get along with and seemed treated others in the same position, so Bing Xiumei felt she just stumbled upon a benevolent person. Thus, she began to treat him as a friend, though she secretly respect and admired him.

After the conversation, Jun bid his farewell and headed to the west, embarking on his journey.
