Putting the kettle up then went and wiped the boardroom table then got about fixing the tea and coffee.
Hearing the phone ringing but time was not on her side, so she just continued doing her duties.
A few others were there already but no one seemed to care, it was not eight. Wrapping the sweetbread in napkins then went to set the table.
Five to eight the room was in order, keeping my eyes open, hoping to see who took the roses. Back in the staff room, she fixed the worker's refreshment, for those that was not attending the meeting.
Searching for his breakfast it was not there either, maybe he came and took it but Lystra was looking at me funny.
Returning to the staff room checking if something was wrong with my dressing but my clothes were okay, then the thought crossed my mind 'What is she up to, has she taken the roses and his breakfast? He hadn't reached the office yet but then his door opened and he looked at me, bending my head, I went towards the elevator wiping my face.
Walking out of the board room for eleven, Brent instructs Miss John, to inform Miss Albert to come to his office."
Lystra was overjoyed seeing how angry he was, adding fuel to his rage she said, "Sir, she is not here."
Brent felt his head would explode, angry for her behaviour and the way she was ignoring him, "Where is she?" He demanded.
In her heart, Lystra was overwhelmed with joy, "I don't know Sir, I believe she is out of the building."
Seeing Boss's anger when he enters his office, Sylvia approaches Lystra, "What have you done?"
Sylvia saw the smirk on her face when she replied not even afraid of the consequences of her handiwork, "Me, Sylvia, I haven't done anything."
Becoming a bit uptight, "You are lying, but if I find out you have anything to cause trouble for her?"
Sylvia is shocked to see and hear the boldness that convinces her that Miss Albet will certainly get in trouble. "Yeah, what are you going to do?"
When his door pushes open and slams after him he storms out of the corridor. Both looking up, 'Oh, dear God, I have never seen him so angry, she is going to get it now.'
Opening the apartment door, "Jessy I want to see you, Jessy where are you we have to talk." Checking both rooms, then around the apartment seeing she was not there.
Brent locked up and went to the church, thinking she had come to a prayer meeting but no one had seen her.
Reaching the construction site Brent noticed how quickly the work was progressing since his last visit. Asking the engineer "When does, he think the work will be completed?"
"Sir, the Boss said she wants it to be completed by the first of October."
Wanting to know exactly what was on her mind and why the rush. "Would it be completed in such a short space of time?"
"We are trying as you can see, she already has a crew started in the teaching centre, so we are expected to be on target and this building is almost done." Thanking him then left wondering where she could be.
Nothing seems to change, the days just fly by, and many new contracts are added to the company. Brent never had spare time to pay attention to the time or the days. He was so tired that all he wanted to do was catch up with sleep.
On Monday the first of October he reached the point where he could not stand not seeing Jessy any longer.
Walking into his office, shouting at Miss John to inform Miss Albert to come into his office immediately.
"Sir, I am sorry, but no one has seen Miss Albert for the morning." Taking the mail up, "Sir, you have a few mails and when Miss Albert comes in, I will give her your message."
When the door closes, scratching his head in frustration, "Why is she avoiding me?
Every time I go to the apartment she is not there, I know that I rushed her into this marriage, but I love her."
"Seeing that letter from Mark broke my heart, had she been seeing Mark secretly? And that young Lawyer, where did her surface from claiming to be her brother? Also, that young lady who paid those goons, there is no trace of her. No one has any record of her, not even the police, so where did she disappear to?"
" I know at first, I avoided her, but I was angry and now the table has turned around, she is avoiding me."
