Chapter 190 - BRENT SUSPICION

Brent heard the door open after eight, he sat silently in the dark. She locked the door and punched in a code, noticing a light coming on. 'Did she install an emergency alarm since the invasion into the apartment? How the hell have those fools not reported this to me?'

With that done she went straight to the room. Brent waited silently while she showered but her crying was difficult to endure.

Unable to bear it any longer, he stepped inside the bathroom, turned off the shower and took her in his arms.

"Sweetheart I am sorry for hurting you so badly, please stop the crying you will get sick."

Wrapping her with the towel and carrying her to the bed, I dried her and put on her nightgown, then went and changed and got her a cup of tea.

"Drink this, while I fix you something to eat, Brent notices how she has been ignoring him and nothing he said seems to stop her from crying.

Leaving the room thinking she might drink the tea, but when he returned the tea was just as he had put it and she was asleep. Desperation overwhelmed his heart and he could not leave her the way she was, she had lost some weight and her face was too pale. Taking her in his arms, Brent could fall asleep in no time.

When the alarm rings, Brent opens his eyes, calling, "Honey, where are you?"

Getting no response, he walked to the drawing room, noticing his shirt and pants neatly ironed and resting on the couch and the bags she brought in last night were neatly folded.

"Did she go shopping?" returning to the room and finding her bag packed, "Jessy, where are you?"

Panic strikes his heart like an explosion, realizing his huge mistake especially when he saw the clothes he had bought her were racked up in the wardrobe and all the things she brought over from Johanna and the things she bought were neatly in the bag.

Hiding the bag feeling his insides trembling. "Dear God, she is angry and she is going to leave me, I am not leaving the apartment, because if she leaves I won't know where to begin looking, all she said once was she is living in Boston."

Jessy had no choice but to visit the doctor's office to get her report and the result of all the tests she had done.

After waiting for forty-five minutes, she heard the doctor say the report was sent to her workplace.

Returning to the office seeing Sylvia looking at her, ignoring the others I went to her, "Have you all collected any mail for me?"

Sylvia notices how pale Jessy looks, she wants to know exactly what happened but just says, "Jessy, all the mails go through Lystra's hands then she distributes it to the other desks."

Sylvia noticed the way she nodded her head and smiled "Thank you!" Watching her go to Lystra's desk, she could not help but follow her wanting to know why she didn't come to work.

Hearing the two words between Lystra and her, Sylvia became concerned. "Miss John, have you received any mail for me?"

"No!" Jessy wasn't expecting any polite response anyway. Also, the mail for her check was supposed to be here as well knowing this is the address she based them to forward her mail. Now that I have more than sufficient money I can return home.

Turning around Jessy saw Sylvia, "Jessy, are you alright?"

Knowing this was only her concern she said, "I am fine."

"Are you unwell?" Sylvia was persistent wanting to know the truth. Sylvia felt she was not in a talkative mood after she left silently.

Returning to her office she called the Boss, hearing his voice, "Boss, did you fire Miss Albert?"

She felt relieved to hear him say "No!"

"Did she say I fired her?"

"No, no Sir, she didn't say anything, as a matter of fact, she was a bit too calm. All she asked for, was if she had gotten any mail. Boss from the way she looked I suspected something was brewing, Boss I knew something was definitely wrong, I had never seen her like this."

Brent hearing Sylvia's words knew immediately his suspicion was right, she had every intention of leaving him. Asking, "Is she there still?"

Sylvia could hear the concern in his voice, "Sir she was here but she just left." Listening to his orders, "Okay, Sir. I will."
