It was four-thirty and Brent was still busy trying to complete some work in his office. Closing the last file when he glimpsed a brown manila envelope lying on top of the desk
He immediately noticed the code signature on the top left corner and realized it was a report from Johnny. Maybe there is some good news regarding the vehicles following me or even some news about Jessy.
With that thought in mind, he opened the first envelope seeing it was two envelopes. stapled together. His main concern right now was to know exactly who was behind it.
When his phone beeps, he realizes it is a message. Although, his eyes were glued on the report his hands reached out and picked up the phone.
Resting the report down for a second he checks the message. Seeing the video clip and a note below stating, "Boss isn't this young lady the refreshment lady you hired?" Brent presses the video curious to see what Roland referring to.
Brent's, eyes widened when he saw the person and the car approaching with such speed. He stood up immediately with his mouth open, hand holding his head.
He was so stunned that he felt numb when the car rushed towards her. His eyes were glued to the screen. At that moment he felt as though he couldn't breathe, his heart was thumping so loud as though it was beating out of time.
Unable to believe his eyes when she skipped across the street as though she was flying, He felt relieved and exhaled, when she escaped the accident.
Suddenly he felt like this was a dream, and he couldn't believe what he had just seen.
Brent blinked a few times as he slumped down immediately on his black leather chair with his hand resting on his chest. "Oh my God, it was so close, did she get hurt, and where did she learn to fly like that?"
Closing his eyes only to open them immediately, "Oh Lord, from what I gathered this driver wanted to harm her intentionally, but why?"
Cold sweat seeps down his forehead when he hears the "Thump, thump!" on his door. Taking a deep breath as he wipes the sweat from his face.
Brent then picks up his phone and calls Johnny, resting it near his ear then asks "Who is it?"
Lystra responds immediately, "It is me, Sir, can I enter?" Lystra desperately wanted to know if he got the video and what was his reaction
"Come in, Miss John, I hope you know it is closing time and I am on a call so make it snappy.." Angry for her intrusion at that moment.
Lystra hurriedly stepped into his office, Noticing his back towards her, she said unaware he was on his phone, "Sir, I was worried, I just got a video of an incident with Miss Albert. I wanted to know if you were aware of it, is she okay?"
When he turned around to face her, she realised he was on the phone, and from his facial expression, it seemed he wasn't aware of what had happened. Which means he didn't see the video.
Closing the call, "Mr Johnny get to that immediately and update me within five minutes.
When he lifted his head and looked at Miss John, "Miss John is there anything important you wanted to discuss? And did you say something?"
Brent asks, as he flips open his briefcase and slips the two manila envelopes inside. He takes up his briefcase when his watch beeps indicating it is five.
Repeating himself as though he hadn't seen the video, "Was it something important, or can it wait for the morning?"
Observing his calmness, Lystra was slightly disappointed, she so wanted to see his reaction. With him leaving, she thought 'If only that car had hit her all her troubles would have been over. Oh Lord, what a good that would have been, but,' "Sir, it wasn't important, I am sure it could wait until tomorrow."
He glanced at her, becoming a bit irritated by her inquisitiveness. Closing his door and headed out quickly wanting to make sure Jessy was okay.
When he reached his private elevator he messaged Roland to check the surveillance footage from all directions and update him. Brent wanted to gather more information but he held back. he also wanted to know who sent him the video, but that would make Jason and Roland suspicious.
The elevator was about to close when he heard the hurried footsteps. Ignoring it, he wanted a moment to whisper a prayer of thanks.
