Chapter 30 - THE UPROAR AT THE FACTORY

Reaching the factory at Red Hill at three o'clock, he immediately observed all the workers sitting outside. They all seem to be anxious about something. Wondering what could make them this anxious and what he could do to ease the tension.

At that moment Brent decided to go to the Manager first and get a full report, wanting to know exactly what the setback was all about before he approached them.

When the workers saw him coming they started to shout with their complaints.

Brent thought for a moment they might become violent as they started to walk towards him. Calling out to the security then lifted his hand silencing them all.

As the security asked them to calm down and wait, Brent was pleased to see them simmer down as he hurried to the Manager's office.

Allowing the Manager to relate what the hold-up was all about, and why the workers were displeased and so anxious.

Most of them were agitated and looked desperate as though something had happened to bring about some sort of danger.

Listening to the Manager first then Brent considered the report. Being a bit concerned Brent asks, "Tell me Manager Johnson why you didn't tell my secretary what was happening when she called earlier to cancel the appointment?"

Brent observed the confusion on Manager Johnson face, when he responded, "I got no call from your office."

Brent considered about what Manager Johnson said then ask, "So was it you who called me to come due to the chaos?"

Manager Johnson replies immediately, "I am sorry Sir but I didn't make any call." 'Understanding now why he didn't seem surprised to see me, he had no idea about the cancelation. but who received the call and who made the call earlier?'

Becoming concerned before he approached the workers fifteen minutes later.

Being displeased and disappointed with the report and their behaviour, he decided to listen to their complaint with an open mind giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Taking into consideration what the manager said there are always two sides to a story and also room for improvement.

Brent went to the workers and allowed everyone to express his or her concerns as he listened wholeheartedly.

His main goal since he had gotten the position as the CEO of the Larson Group and Companies was to ensure that his workers were happy so he could get better production.

Also, he takes into consideration that he was the means and medium God used to provide jobs so these workers could feed their families.

Listening to their concerns for more than an hour. Thinking of ways to rectify the situation, he allows each of the employees to lift their concerns so he will know if what the manager says is related to the current crisis and uproar in their hearts.

Being on the safe side Brent recorded all questions and also made notes of each complaint.

He asked them to give him until Tuesday to take their concerns to the board so he could quickly rectify the problem and remove their concerns.

He also realized that most of their problems were mainly health and safety issues.

Quieting them down he said, "Okay, I will see how soon I can rectify this matter but in the meanwhile I want you all to carry on working and be very careful, I don't want anyone to get injured." Observing this one particular gentleman always on his phone while the others were sharing their concern.

Being content that they were all on the same page he shook their hands as a form of agreement. When the gentleman came to shake his hand, Brent asked his name, "My name is Shawn Garcia, Sir."

"Okay Shawn, good to meet you, was it you that called me?"

"No Sir, I didn't make any call."

"Okay, nice to see you."

Brent waited until the compound was empty and only the Security and Manager stood at his side. "I want you to keep your eyes on Shawn Garcia if that is his name. He seems to be communicating with someone on the outside. Has he had visitors on the job?"

The Security said, "No! Sir, we don't allow visitors into the compound unless we are informed by the office."

"Thank you for following protocol and keep up the good work."
