Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: This might take a bit of explaining

Joe quickly left the area of the massacre in the direction of the village still aided by his swift step, finding himself even faster, agile and nimble than before as well as feeling that his mana generation had increased by a large factor as well. After moving for a bit still at the top of the trees as they were still stable enough to support him, 'mental command: display properties' he thought.

Joe knew that the mana stores seemed low on mana but knew that the capacity had expanded quite a lot and just needed to refill, however instead of the 100 mana per minute recharge he had before, he now had a recharge of 900 mana per minute, with the flat to full recharge time staying at 24 minutes as the level to spirit ratio is currently 1 to 1 so Joe didn't need to worry about that, also making him think about changing how the stores were calculated, but that he could think about way later down the line if he ever needed to. He also saw that currently each level he received gave him 2 stat points each per level, except for spirit which only gave him 1 stat point per level, Joe was happy with this as he felt that he had to work more to level up and got less exp than he should be getting, but it turns out that his system just uses a larger power scaling than this worlds system.

Joe elected to leave the unallocated points alone for now as he has yet to get used to the increases that he had just gained, and the fact that they were currently unnecessary, and could be one hell of a power-up if he ever needed it. Not knowing what to do now, and wanting to see how everyone else was progressing he thought to check out the ARS forums. so he thought, 'mental command: display ARS forums' and to that, a window popped up in front of him, outlined in his system green, however, the forum display itself was in its own colours.

He found himself looking at a home page, with tabs for continental posts, region posts, and section posts that defaulted to the ones that he was in, however can be used to look at other area grouped posts as well. There was a general home page where general things could be posted, all containing a live chat section and a posts section. And upon seeing how this worked and that chats from each panel kept to that pannel, with posts, on the other hand, were combined the further the area that was covered. So that the most popular posts from the sectional posts would be combined together and added to the posts that were posted in the region posts, and all shown there with another step up that ladder for the continental. The home page was left out of that cycle, except for the top ten posts from all the other chats showing in a top posts section.

Joe awkwardly slightly chuckled to himself as the top 7 posts had to do with him, either the confusion about the cross-platform communication server announcement, the subsequent post listing him as a likely suspect as for why, two different angles of the guy getting his arm obliterated, the subsequent post analysing that event, and two postings titled along the lines of it sounds like a war zone, and what do you think this is, all with the same region and section markers. Upon seeing this, Joe just thought, 'oh . . . Well at least I had my mask on and yeah I'm not using magic missiles at full power any time soon,' watching the video taken from the village, and it did indeed sound like an active war zone over here. And from the comments on that post, he saw that there was a lot of speculation and panic as to what that was. Joe feeling sorry for the people that he kind of traumatised decided to leave a post titled; sorry for the distress, containing the message;

"Sorry for the distress, I was getting rid of a large pack of beast using something that I hadn't tested before; I won't use it at full power again unless it's necessary. And I think you would like what happened better than having to deal with this." Joe wrote while attaching an image of what he saw earlier containing the beast stats still in the green display window.

After he posted that, he slowly started making his way back to the village, meanwhile, his post was left unnoticed as everyone was looking at the home or continental page as everything had trickled up to them. However, about 20 seconds later when government and guild agents, as well as many other people, went back to the section page, this post immediately caught their eyes. Firstly this post had an apology for the title. Secondly, next to the poster indicator unlike everybody else who had, poster: ARS player, [insert username]. This post had, poster: CCSS user, Id 0. And last but not least the image displayed had a green window, not light blue. This caused a huge commotion as this person had a different thing after poster, sparking debate as to what was meant by 'CCSS user', who was this 'Id 0', why their system window was a different colour, what did they mean by all the different things they said, also causing a commotion as they admitted that they caused the explosions before, and the fact of what he stoped was actually there in the first place, that a pack of 67 level 14-17 dire-wolfs that were heading towards that village. Causing that post to rise rapidly into the top 10's putting it in the public eyes of everybody as the comments under that post exploded with new posts theorising about the many different aspects of all of what the post contained meant, with a new post popping up among them, discussing why when they tried to message that person all they received was an " [Player does not exist. You have to obtain CCSS approval to contact this user] " message and what was meant by that. Joe has no idea how badly he has upset the balance of the forums by leaving his apology as he continued to make his way back to the village at a leisurely pace.

To the governments and guilds that were watching this village like a hawk and monitoring to find information on this particular person, this post alone gave them tonnes of information that they previously did not, also enlisting the unintentional aid of the speculating people as they brought to light quite a few things that hadn't yet been found by them. Among a couple of the things that this confirmed, was that the announcement was tied to him, what his username was, that he was the one behind the disturbance in the village and that whatever he had, he could use it to wipe out 67 level-15 dire wolfs while at level 1. Although they were frustrated that they couldn't see more of what he could do or what abilities he could use or what his innate talent was, the fact that he was this powerful alone now meant that he would be even more so in the future. So they had to secure him for themselves before anyone else could as this person seemingly has access to something much bigger than just himself, as far as that system announcement was concerned, so even if they could not get him to join them directly, if they could find out what it is or try to get what he has from him, it would benefit them greatly. Sadly however they still did not know what this guy actually looked like so they couldn't go after him in real life, as they would be guaranteed to find him and go from there.

On the way back Joe pondered on what had happened and the destructiveness of magic missiles, so was trying to think of some other spells that he could use that could do damage in a better way than just turning them into puss and vapour. Joe thought back to some of the other stuff that he had read before on this subject and was starting to come up with a plethora of ideas but he would need time to implement them all.

On the way back, because there were no red markings on his radar Joe didn't pay attention much to how the other people were moving, let alone identify who any of them are or how old they were so Joe had no idea that the people currently idling on the outside of the village were government and guild agents there waiting for him, rather than people trying to form groups. Joe still enjoying moving among the treetops with his enhanced speed made his way back to the village. When he got to the edge of the forest where the trees could support less of his weight he continued to move forward while bouncing lower off the trees one after the other until he got to the very edge of the forest meaning that Joe was now in the open, so he slowed himself to a regular walking speed as he made contact with the ground.

The agents were stunned to see Id 0 moving up in the trees coming out of the forest rather than walking, and the speed that he was going meant that he must have levelled up by quite a lot and possibly have obtained a movement enhancing skill. And to this all their eyes lit up, some with greed, some with hostile intent, others thinking of the reward that they could get if they could bring him onto their side, others however thinking from another angle wanting to gain a professional relationship with him as they thought that that would lead to a better outcome overall.

Joe seeing the way that these obviously grown adults looking at him with various gazes, immediately lost the carefree attitude that he had before and adopted a calm and reformed posture as he looked over the 27 agents that were there, slowly looking across and judging how the people acquitted themselves in front of him. As Joe had absolutely no idea what to do in this situation or what their intentions were, he made himself demand respect while seeing what their probable intentions were.

Although none of them could see his face, the all knew that they were being judged by him as he presented himself in a dignified manner, this told those that were there that he wasn't just an immature child but someone that would listen to reason and couldn't be easily persuaded. It was at this point that a couple of them spoke up.

"I'm from Purple Genesis guild based in seldonsphere, we have seen what you have done and would like for you to join our gui--" and before she could say anything more, another agent butted in,

"I'm from Drum Hawks guild based in Penshalstine--"

"I'm from Lowforge guild based in lionvolley and would--" said some of the agents that were trying to get his attention before being interrupted by other agents. And after a few moments of this two of the agents had enough of being judged by a child and the people trying to curry his favour.

"Alright that's enough!" was heard being shouted from the middle of the group, making everyone look at them, with Joe slowly turning his head to look at them, "I've had enough of being judged by you, a child that has obviously obtained something that you shouldn't have and using it for whatever you want, so give it over before we force you to hand it over, either here or in the real world."

Shocking everybody at how calm Id 0 responded, Joe said through his modulated voice, " and who might be." And after that everyone just stood there for a second before they answered.

"We are 'Investigator' and 'crimson fury' from Crimzonia shifter compliance division and alternate realm committee, so it won't take long to find where you are and force you to hand whatever it is you got your hands on over, whether you like it or not, so you might as well hand it over now." And after the person with the username Investigator said that most of the other people in the area backed away as Crimzonia was the largest country in the world with the most manpower and the Crimzonia shifter compliance division and alternate realm committee were the most powerful organisations within it and if they want something they would most likely get it.

Though what shocked them even more was the response he got as Joe looked at the two, unintentionally releasing an almost suffocating aura as his mana responded to his subconscious thoughts, with wisps of his mana blocking the mana in the surroundings from moving creating an oppressive atmosphere where those around felt a lack of environmental mana causing a foreboding feeling as they could feel that something was immensely wrong but didn't know why it was, also the high purity mana that was out of tune with theirs replacing the mana around them made those around extremely uncomfortable, Joe responded through his modulated voice in an accusing manner, " You think that threats of violence will work against the creator consortium, and to what? Improve your country's strength, are you sure that you want to provoke us as what you've seen so far isn't even a fraction of what one of the aids granted to members can do. So I advise you to not pursue this line of interaction any further before you reduce the reputation of your organisations within our systems." Joe looked at everyone before continuing, "And I'm sure that you will all agree that that was unprofessional conduct, especially for the position that he holds, so as representatives of your organisations would you send your recordings of this event to their superiors, and press for an investigation into them and their conduct, as from what was just mentioned, either they or others they know may use their abilities with harmful intent to try and take consortium property for personal gain."

The agents there were surprised by how he just brushed off the Crimzonia shifter compliance division and alternate realm committee and he even pressed for an investigation into these two and other individuals, with quite a few immediately sending the recordings to the higher-ups, with others that were around the two in question still feeling the oppressive force of Id 0's gaze on the two people that threatened him, remaining motionless seemingly not able to move.

The oppressive force faded as Joe went to move toward the village, however as the aura faded, 'investigator' who had just been humiliated and told to be put under investigation, had boiled over with anger from this child who was on a power trip, and went to draw his sword to attack him. Joe seeing this immediately thought' mental command: cast mudslide, radius 2 meters', and as they went to take another step, found themselves waist-deep in mud, now unable to move with anger now more evident in his eyes as he tried to get out while cursing at Id 0 for using such spells on a government official and further degrading him in the eyes of the others.

Hearing that Joe turned around and responded," It's a battlefield control spell, why wouldn't I use it to peacefully stop someone trying to attack me?" Joe turned, now addressing everyone," Look, we don't want any conflict with your guilds or organisations, and nor should yours want any with mine. However, there is a limit to how much we will take, and you will be made well aware when that happens. The consortium will not participate in any guild or organisation conflicts unless one of the sides has already made conflict with the consortium itself. The consortium is not tied to any country or faction and is not to be treated as such, nor drawn into any political conflict either. An alliance with us can be brokered either through mutual aid or continuous actions to show such, not just solely through verbal or written agreements. And doing such still doesn't mean you can drag us into your conflicts, however, those that are friendly or allies with the consortium can ask for or be given help on other matters. Now for the higher-ups that will be watching this, decide on how you want to approach this carefully, as not only will this determine how the consortium will interact with you in the future, but how other organisations will as well, and don't be incessantly bothering us as I know how you hate it when that happens to you. And get that man checked and put on watch to make sure that he is mentally stable."

Joe now finally proceeded to make his way into the village unhindered, as the extended versions of those recordings were passed on to the higher-ups, and waiting for a response on how to proceed given this new information.
