Tobias' POV
I lean against the counter in the kitchen arms folded as I wait for Chloe to come downstairs. I make sure Alex is tucked away in the corner of my mind sleeping for the fifth time to assure that today is solely for Chloe and I.
I was surprised last night when Chloe asked Alex if she could have a day alone with just me, but I'm very glad she did so. Since she doesn't have a wolf, I was worried that she wouldn't be as interested as getting to know me as she was Alex, though I'm very happy she's proving me wrong, not that I'll tell her that.
My ears perk up as I hear Chloe'a light footsteps as she comes down the stairs, following her path from there to the entrance to the kitchen. It's hard to stop the growl in my throat at what I see but I'm able to manage.... barely.
