Chapter 99 - Home, Same Old Home

As I entered the house, I went directly to my room as to Synthia's Request. Never found any sort of reason to not refuse her orders, she's scary as hell and I'm still under the impression that she's secretly a yandere.

Poor Gerald. I'm wondering how many times he's had to avoid death with her.

Actually, I'm somewhat curious if they even touched my room at all. With a kid on the way, I'd assume they'd just use my room for them. I mean they still have all of the things that they need for a baby here…

I made my way up the stairs, when I noticed Lilith following in tow behind me.

"Hey, your mom said both of us should go up." She said, shrugging. Even with her shrugging, there was a quick glance that she did to Synthia's way.

"…I'm sensing a bit of fear." I squinted my eyes. "Are you also scared of my mom?"

Lilith scoffed, waving her hand in a dismissive manner. "Pfft…N-no…But it's best to follow the adults." Her voice ended up coming out trembling.

"A-alright, I guess we'll go up together."

"Hurry it up! I don't want her to yell at us for being slow!"

We made our way up the stairs and stood at the front of my door. After giving her a quick glance, Me and Lilith entered the room.

As we entered, I noticed immediately that nothing had changed in the room. Nothing at all. I assume the bed was washed and so on since I'm pretty sure I didn't…Clean up after myself when I left. Everything else was still in the sam-Oh…There's a closet.

"Hey!" Lilith said, gently pushing me aside. "Everything looks the same!"

"Well they did add a closet. Other than that, they didn't really do much with the room."

"Well I suppose, Wouldn't do much harm to add things to the room though…" Lilith looked around the room before she spotted something. "Hey, Isn't that a piece of my clothes?"

I watched as she walked towards the closet which was slightly open. As she opened it more, I noticed that most of the clothes inside were mixed. Half of it was mine and the other half of some female clothes. Lilith looked confused as she grabbed the top piece of a sleepwear.

"Wait…These aren't mine? I don't remember owning something like this."

"Maybe you forgot about it?" I said walking towards her. "Er, Then again…kinda seems odd that there's clothes in here that aren't mine…"

"Eh?" Lilith looked back at the closet and grabbed another piece of clothing, this time an Underwear.

After an odd amount of time staring at it, she dropped it. "Hah! You're right!"

"Why'd you stare at it for so long?" I questioned her.

"Because I was making sure if it was mine or yours!" She had a blush on her face as she said that.

"Huh?" I raised an eyebrow at that. "First of all, I'm pretty sure that all the clothes here were either after we left." I then raised a finger at her. "Second, why are you wearing briefs?"

"Because they're comfy! Look, I'm wearing one right now!"

Lilith almost began to drop her pants before I waved frantically at her, yelling. "Stop! I don't need to see! Wait, are you taking my underwear?"

"What?! No!…." She paused for a moment, her hands clenched into a fist. There was pure embarrassment on her face now. "Just when I first started, but I bought the other ones!"

Wait, my underwear! Hold on, now that I think of it, I did lose a pair at some point. Usually I assumed I just misplaced it, but now…I've been told that my underwear is being used by someone else.

"You're more perverted than me!" I pointed at her. "Like way more! Counting the peeping hole you use at the house and this!"

"Coming from the one who looked up someone's skirt during a duel!" Lilith argued back.

"I said that was an accident! You even forgave me!"

Lilith gritted her teeth and mumbled something under breath, most likely muttering how it was true. She gave me a couple of glances, perhaps readying her next argument.

"Sneak attack!"

Instead, she quickly threw the clothing she held at me. Normally I'd assume a normal person wouldn't throw something as hard.

But this piece of sleepwear shot right towards me like a speeding baseball. Luckily I managed to duck as the price of cloth made a loud bang against the wall behind me. I quickly looked back to the wall just out of awe at the sheer speed and power she put into it.

I guess she ran out of words and decided to resort to using her hands to talk.

"Wha-Why are you already going with violen-Ah!" I couldn't even finish my sentence as once I turned to face her, she was already coming in to tackle me.

The both of us landed onto the bed that I once slept on. As we did, Lilith quickly got on top of me with expert movement. She quickly used her legs to hold my arms to my side and just sat on top of me.

"Alright, say I'm not perverted!" She looked at me with squinting eyes. Her amber colors seemed to glow even more as she stared at me.

I would be honest and say that this view of mine was quite nice, she was completely covering my view. Though I was even more afraid that somehow she'd be throwing punches at me. I didn't really expect her to be this good at Close quarter stuff, I mean I'm more used to seeing her use her short sword.

"Ah-This isn't even helping your case! What if someone comes in on us?" I said, struggling.

"I-Er…" Lilith paused for a moment, considering that. "Easy! Play it off like we're play-fighting!"

"We're not seven!"

"So? I mean, who's going to come up into this room?" Lilith folded her arms. "Your mom?"

"Yes." A voice came from behind Lilith.

Lilith's eyes widened with surprise as she slowly turned to see who it was. With my view still obscured, I couldn't see who it was. But I recognized the voice.

"Ah-Mrs.Detrut! When did you come in?" Lilith then quickly pulled herself off of me, Sitting beside me now.

In my view now was Synthia, looking quite amused. I don't think any of us noticed she came into the room, she must've just walked in as soon as Lilith tackled me. Most likely the case was that she was making sure I was ok in the room.

"Oh, I was here for a moment." Synthia said, smiling. "Hope I didn't bother with the two of you messing around."

"N-nope!" Lilith said, flustered.

"Haha! Oh, Lilith. Nothing is wrong with what you're doing. I am fine with it." Synthia gave out a chuckle as she waved her hand. "I know the two of you are getting to that age where you flirt and such, and quite frankly, I don't mind."

Lilith didn't say anything, though the red face she had was more than enough to say that she was beyond embarrassed. Synthia then looked at me, her hand gently pressing against her cheek.

"How's it feel to be back home? I know one of our letters said that we'd have you stay in Prusha, but unfortunately circumstances changed that."

"Uh…Just like how I remember, Besides the Closest there." I pointed at the closet , which Synthia took a glance at.

"Oh! Yes, the closet for your sibling!" Synthia smiled as she walked to the closet, taking out some clothes. "Your father and I were unsure if the baby would be a girl or a boy. So we decided to just gather up for both!"

Unbeknownst to her, I did know. Arael might've been telling the truth in what she told. About having a baby sister that I wouldn't be able to see. Perhaps that vision would come to fruition, I wasn't sure. Still…if it was right, I at least got new clothes!

"Some of these clothes are Lilith's. Ever since Sarah left, me and Gerald found it necessary to clean out the house. Er…Sorry if that sounded wrong, Lilith." Synthia looked at Her with apologetic eyes.

"It's fine. I mean, I don't think I'd be able to fit into them. At least I think…" Lilith then made a gesture towards her chest area. "Yeah, maybe not."

Synthia stifled a laugh and smiled wider. "It's astonishing how the two of you have grown since you left. I take it kale…Has been good to you?"

"Yeah! He's been great, I like him as a teacher!"

"I see…" Synthia rubbed her chin, seemingly relieved at that response. "Well I suppose I've been worrying too much."

"What makes you dislike Kale?" I asked. It seemed like there was history between the two. Perhaps something bad happened in the past that made things sour?

"Oh. Taking away Gerald to train could be a major factor in that…Taking you in when you got to Prusha is also one of them." Her voice went down a tone as she said all of that bleakly.

Hmm…All of that points to a very obsessive person. She's edging a bit closer to that Yandere thought.

"Ah-Mother, I also agree with Lilith." I said. "Kale isn't that much of a bad person. In fact, I think us being with him has made him better."

"Really?"

"Yeah, I mean I haven't been killed yet! So all is good!"

Ok, maybe I lied there. But if it's to put Kale into the good light of Synthia, so be it.

Lilith, who was looking at me as well, also saw through that lie. But she quickly hid her reaction to it and joined in.

"Yeah, we've been fine!"

"Alright!" Synthia held out her hands, she was still holding onto the clothes and had a frown on her face when looking at us. "I believe you two, but that doesn't mean I'll be less harsh on him!"

She then proceeded to put away the clothes and shut the closet. "By the way, Lilith. If you want, tomorrow you can go see your house. Everything inside should still be there, besides your clothes."

Lilith nodded. "I guess maybe I should check. Maybe my mother left something else behind."

A rush of guilt ran over me, but I didn't look at her when she said that. The thought of really knowing what had happened to Sarah and not being able to tell her was killing me.

"Oh…Well I'll accompany you. You know me and your mother talked quite frequently when the two of you left. She was quite a fancy woman, I see some of her in you." Synthia smiled at Lilith, but she quickly turned to the bedroom door, walking that way. "Now, we'll talk more downstairs. Food will be served for you two."

As soon as Synthia walked out the door, Lilith grabbed me and had a look on her face.

"Your mom is scary and nice at the same time."

"Noticed it too?" I said sarcastically. "Never noticed it when we hung out before?"

"Well…No. But now that I'm more aware, yeah!" She then got off of the bed and paced around.

"Well she is slightly over protective of me and My father. Anyone or anything could make her turn her mood when it involves us."

Lilith stopped in her steps, looking at me. "Will I be like Kale? You think your mom will dislike me next?"

"Don't think like that." I sat up from the bed as I said that.

It would be odd for Synthia to just dislike her for no reason. I would imagine that she would've just disliked her when I first arrived with Lilith next to me, no point of holding a feeling like that for that long. Plus knowing about Sarah's letter, Lilith should technically be in care of my family now. There's no need for worries!

"You should know that Mom sees you as a family member. Plus, she's had no real problem with you at all." I tried to reassure her. "I mean, you saw how casual she was with you on top of me?"

"Ah-Because we were Play-Fighting!" Lilith yelled. She was still on that idea. But then she soon calmed down and looked a bit more relieved. "B-but I guess you are right on that."

"Alright, so we are good with that?" I asked.

Lilith nodded. "Yes, I guess I won't be that scared when we go to see my house…I think."

"Great, let's drop our stuff here and head downstairs."

Once we settled into the room, we went our way down to the kitchen where everyone else was already eating.

Gerald and Kale were sitting next to each other, enjoying each other's company as they ate away at the food on the table. It was worth noting that Kale looked quite similar to Gerald the more I looked at the two. Both had the same smile and gestures, the way they talked to each other made it seem like they were talking to a mirror.

Chris was sitting next to Claire and Amelia. As I made my way to pass him, I noticed he was writing.

"Finished your meal already?" I asked, But I quickly noticed that he had a plate off to the side. Instead of eating, he was focused on his writing.

"The food can wait." Chris then dropped the feather pen and looked up at me. "While you were messing around upstairs, your father was nice enough to enlighten us on his adventures."

"Huh, and I take it that it gave you some inspiration?"

"Yes! Hearing stories about your fathers journey to fulfill a young damsel's request by defeating the demon within her was invigorating!" He then looked back down at his pages. "What an honorable man your father is, having to endure that sort of fight!"

"Endurance is all you need, Prince!" I heard Gerald chirp in. "And the right amount of skill to cleanse a…Woman like that."

Ah…I think he has the wrong idea. But at least Chris is inspired.

"Oh, Kota!" Gerald called me.

I took the time to sit in a chair next right across from him before replying. "Yes?"

"How've things been? Kale has told me you exceed quite a bit at the University. Been reading the letters he sends to us."

"Well…" I pondered. "King Lucian asked me and Lilith to aid his son, Chris. And I also started doing bounties at the Bounty hall in Prusha. And then I went and danced at the Lucian festival with Lilith, learned a bit more magic and even became more efficient with that spell I made!"

Gerald eyes widen, seemingly awestruck by something. Was it because of the bounty hall?

"…Synthia, our boy managed to meet the king and somehow managed to rack in a job alongside it!" Gerald yelled. "Well, I mean I should've noticed it by the fact that the prince was eating in our house!"

"And yet you've never given me a proper greeting, but I'll let it slide due to your amazing story." Chris just had to say.

"No one cares." Amelia said after taking a spoonful of curry into her mouth.

Besides the interruption, Gerald continued. "Oh, and the bounty hall! So you decided to do a bit of that, huh?"

"Yeah. Me, Lilith and kale went on and did a goblin bounty."

"Sounds a bit dangerous." Synthia said, glancing back from the stove. "…Who's idea was it?"

The monotone voice she used struck a chord in me. I took a glance at Lilith, who I was pretty sure was the one that insisted on doing that bounty. But as I turned to look at her, I noticed that she was staring right back at me.

She began to mouth a sentence to me, her eyes glancing towards Synthia. "Don't say anything." She mouthed.

Ok, well I guess Kale would probably insist on telling the truth. I turn my gaze towards him.

Unfortunately, Kale seemed to be more stressed looking than Lilith. His left hand covering his face to avoid the gaze of Synthia, he began to mouth something to me as well.

"Say anything, and I die."

It seems like everyone was afraid of Synthia. Even Gerald, who idly twiddled his fingers. Claire and Amelia remained quite alongside Chris.

I wasn't really sure of what to say, I was kinda somewhat nervous if I got called out on a lie by her.

"Oh, who am I kidding." Synthia said. "Bounties in the hall are always dangerous. If you did go with Lilith and Kale, you would've been safe."

And just like that, I heard two audible sighs of relief.

"Hm…You know, Later I intend on doing a bounty for some wolves." Gerald began, leaning forward. "Perhaps as a way to get a good idea of how much you two have grown, I should bring you guys!"

"Wolves? I remember Edward fighting some when we left here." Lilith said.

"Right. There's a lot of wolves here in the plain. Someone's gotta keep them at bay, wouldn't mind having some helping hands. Plus, it'd be a great way to spend time!"

Hm…I suppose I could use some more practice with my magic. I mean I should probably start getting used to the heat of a battle. Plus…Kind of curious of how Gerald tackles things when it comes to Fighting.

"Yeah, ok." I answered. "Should be a piece of cake!"

"That's it! Alright, we'll head out after we finish eating!"

"What about us?" Amelia asked. "I mean, we can't really do much here…"

"Ever tried exploring a small village like this? You might be surprised by what's here." Gerald said.

"He's right." Claire agreed.

"Pfft…Fine. I guess we'll do that."

"And I shall Accompany!" Chris added. As soon as he said that, Amelia groaned.

"Well then, I guess we should finish up with eating." Gerald said, smiling. "The couch and bedding will be ready once we finish up with cleaning. I'll make sure you four sleep tight. Kota and Lilith can sleep in his room."

"I call the couch." Kale called out. "I need a real bed after that nap I had."

Then Gerald got out of his seat. He held his plate alongside him. "Alright, now that we have a good plan for the coming days, we'll head out in a bit to get some Wolves!"

A/N: Wow! A early chapter! I managed to find more time to write this one. Next Chapter is more action and magic using, I did say this was suppose to be my most action oriented! Hope you enjoy this Chapter!
