Ah yes... The other day, I was only in the library trying to review to prepare for my College entrance exam when suddenly I blackout, and the next thing i knew I was transmigrated into the novel I've only read halfway. My name was Ely Sanchez 17 yrs. of age. I suffered from a high fever which I thought wasn't life threatening, and then this happened. Who would've thought that I would die? Maybe my condition was really serious that's why I died. I was sick but ignored it due to the fact that I didn't have enough money to pay for my hospital bills and cannot afford to waste time, resting. I lived alone for 2 yrs. My parents died in an accident when I was 12 yrs. old. My auntie took me after that. I left my auntie's house because they treated me as if I was their housemaid, they didn't even pay my tuition fee. I can't even eat at their house because they didn't leave any food for me after they ate. I work part time after school to pay for my daily necessities and other expenses. I was so fed up that I decided to leave them and lived on my own. But, I couldn't believe this is how my life will end. Moreover, I got reincarnated in a novel I hated as one of the Male leads harem.
Speaking of Male lead, I am with Luke right now. We were spending our tea time at the rose garden of Vincie Palace where I was staying. This palace was once owned by the late duke, Roneos Willnian Hereldiuz' mistress, Vincie Placienva. Luke's father might have adopted me, however, for some reason they didn't change my family name. I believe this is only temporary and I will be going back to my manor once I'm on a legal age, and capable enough to handle the state which my late father left for me.
I am sipping my tea peacefully, trying really hard to ignore the fact that this man was intently staring at me. Though it makes me want to spill this hot tea on his face, I cannot do so. It will be the end of me if I did it, and my free life living as Lilian will be over. So, I'll endure it as much as I can. I will leave this place sooner or later, ignoring this kind of thing would be the best.
But, this man, why was he staring at me like that? Am I some kind of a painting painted by a great artist? I snicker at my own thoughts. Lilian was indeed, a beauty you can't compare with. Her ebony-black wavey hair, paired with her purple almond-shaped eye, really brings out the beauty in her. A demeanor fitted for a queen. She's almost like a goddess, a goddess trapped in a damn selfish love.
"Lilian..."
Said the man who was sitting next to mine, with a radiant smile on his face. His long silvery hair, was blowing on his flawless and angelic curvature. His soft-calming voice rings to the ear like a lullaby, so soothing and gentle.
These... are the thoughts which the original Lilian p
would probably thought of. However, it is different for me. His face.. others may describe him as the epitome of beauty. But that beauty can't hide how horrible of a man he truly was. His voice? I would rather plunge an earphone to my ear in full volume while playing classical music than listening to him.
Suddenly, I remember as to why the original Lilian loved this man so deeply. As to why she agreed to accept everything even though it would cause her, her happiness.
I stared at him, and a flash of memory came to me. Memory of the original Lilian. That pair of green eyes, that same green eyes who stared at Lilian with so much care when she first met him. When did this love start? Oh right! It was the time when her father passed away when she was only 10 years old. Her mother died giving birth to her, her father died during the demon subjugation at the south border. Her father was the general of the south imperial knight. Lilian and Luke's father were best of friends. Learning his friend's death, Luke's father took care of Lilian. Lilian was on her very down moment that time, she was on a point where she couldn't think anymore of how to live her life. Every passing day feels like eternity to her. She questioned herself, what was the purpose of living? Her parents left her at a young age... She never even spends time with her father long enough. How could she find the courage to continue living? How could she face the reality of life that awaits her? At such a young age, Lilian, did a thing she wasn't supposed to do. She tried to take her own life. How could she do that with such a young mind? That evening, Lilian tried to jump from her bedroom's balcony. Surely, the height would probably kill her. However, that faithful night came to her like a miracle.
Luke who was 14 at that time, was ordered by her father to look after Lilian for the meantime. He came to Fedelpha's mansion that night to meet with Lilian when suddenly he noticed Lilian standing at the edge of her balcony. He tried to call on her but to no avail. She was staring blankly in the sky. He called her name many times which also caught the attention of the people in the mansion. However, before they could stop Lilian, it was already too late. She jumped from her balcony, fortunately Luke caught her from below.
Luke looked at her in disbelief, how could she do this kind of thing? Lilian on the other hand, was stunned. She thought she was going to die, but instead of hard and cold ground, a warm and gentle pair of hands was holding her tightly. Who is this person? She stared at him.
"Are you crazy? Why did you jump? are you trying to kill youself?!"
Luke's voice echoed to her ear. Why is he angry? she thought. Why does he look so concerned?
Lilian couldn't understand why this boy cared whether she killed herself or not.
She wanted to cry, she wanted to hit this boy who saved her life. Why did he save her? this miserable and lonely life she had should have ended if it wasn't for him. However, all she could do was to remain silent and fix her emotionless eyes on the ground.
She got down from the boys' hand and made a step back without looking back at Luke. But, she never expected what he did next. He hugged her and told her these words carefully. For the first time since her father died, she felt warm in her body. A feeling she didn't feel for a long time. It was like all the stone hard ice covering her heart was melting.
"I'm sorry if I yelled at you. I was just worried, you could've died if I was a second late. Are you okay? I know it was hard for you. But, please.. this is not the solution, don't do it again."
When was the last time Lilian heard someone asking about her? about what she was feeling? asking if she was okay? If someone like him was beside her in times like this, would she have a thought of ending her life? If only someone was there for her. She only needs someone to lean on.. Suddenly, a hot tear cascaded into her eyes. She wanted to stop crying but she couldn't. It was like all of the emotions she kept on hiding flowed along with her tears.
Since that day Luke always finds time to visit Lilian. He always made sure to spend time with her. Since then, Lilian started to open up and slowly regained her lively expressions. The smiles who once faded away, now started to take shape into her face. It was all because of Luke. To Lilian, Luke is like a sun who suddenly brought light to her dark and lonely life. She owed him her life and since then, that feeling grew into love. A love, so true and deep, it became her prison.
But I am not Lilian, the real Lilian was gone. I didn't know if she died or her soul was just sleeping inside of this body. But, one thing is for sure. I must save her. I didn't know if she would like this. However, I can't just stand still and do nothing.
He love her? No... If he truly loved her then why did he find another woman? The heck with that love, I can't even eat that. Really, Lilian is too good, she doesn't deserve him. I must stop this nonsense first and leave this place. Just rest Lilian, I'll promise to give you a life you truly deserved.
