Chapter 1 - Who was that girl…?

The castle was cold, but in this room a fire place blazed, the fire eating away at the wood to keep the rather large room warm. In this large room had giant book cases which covered some of the walls from floor to ceiling. On the back wall laid a picture, with two tall windows which stood on either side of the painting. Blue velvet curtain fell off the poles like a waterfall. The deep blue mixed with gold features which made the room feel vibrant. The picture that had been complimented by the blue drapes inhabited four figures. These figures belonged to the Leonard family, their faces seemed content in the painting. A small girl sat upon Mr Leonard's lap, Ethel was a rather unique child. With hair that was crystal white which was given to her by her mother who shared the same. Her eyes hued golden, which brought innocence and you could see the wonder in them.

Ethel meaning fair maiden was in fact a fair maiden. Yet to be the age as one, in turn she blissed into a very courageous and accountable woman.

But in her young age she would be like a fairy, pretty like a doll and as full of life and wonder. Her parents often wondered what would become of their bright and curious child. Mr and Mrs Leonard would often invite close family's in hopes that one of the family's sons would ask for her hand in marriage. Yet that would be to long, before that time her parents would become more strict once she reaches the age of ten

It was when Ethel was eight that she would meet A boy named Cloud. 'What a creative name.' She thought to herself.

Ethel stuck in her thoughts was sat on the floor, a luxurious blue and gold woven rug laid underneath her. The boy took a glance at this strange girl that appeared to be day dreaming.

"It is nice to meet you Lord Cloud."

Mr Leonard chimed to the boy. No less than twelve Cloud bowed to the tall vampire who appeared to be hovering over him. Cloud was quite tall for his age but Mr Leonard was a one of the tallest men to live in the Seven Kingdoms. Cloud who was 5 foot 6 inches towered over his fellow academy students.

"You have grown since we last saw you!"

Mrs Leonard had bowed so she could pat his shoulders softly. Mrs Leonard was a fragile woman, having her parents burnt for associating themselves with the pure blooded witches. She liked to keep her soul light, she would try her hardest to be a dear person in hopes no one would think she was the same as her dammed parents

"It's nice to see you Duke and Duchess Leonard." taking a pause Cloud opened his mouth again.

"I have grown a lot since you visited our home, I had been fairly excited to come visit. You didn't bring that mysterious creature when you had visited."

Cloud had used these words playfully when talking about the girl. He stared at her, she looked like a flower. So delicate and intricate, she was adorable looking and as sweet as pea.

"Ahh, this is our daughter." Mr Leonard has replied in quick response.

Ethel who was still wildly thinking about the boy. She was lost in thought about mysterious he appeared to be. He didn't look like anyone else. She took a small glance and looked back at her things. In the small glance she was able to see the boys appearance.

The boys hair appeared black which ran a line of white slightly to the left of parting. Even though he was young he was a vampire. In fact a pure blooded vampire, so his development would be sculpting his body and face as he would grow to be a man. There were four stages to vampire growth, the first being between the time from birth to their tenth birthday. The body would then slow down development which would leave room for extension in the mind so the vampires could be educated.

While Cloud was twelve his growth had begun a year before a normal vampire lad would.

"Ethel come meet lord Cloud!" Her mother's voice had echoed towards her.

The girl being quite short, it would show that she wouldn't be to tall when she became a woman.

Cloud saw the small girl walking towards them, wearing a very pretty white dress, the dress which touched the floor made it took like the girl was going to trip.

'Bang!'

Ethels body had landed flat on the cold marble floor. Tears welded up in her eyes, as Cloud watched the girl he saw that this flower was hurt he approached the girl and leant down to help her up.

"Are you hurt?" A voice pushed down air that tickled Ethels hairs, she darted up to see Cloud staring at her his green eyes glittered at her, his hand reach out to lift her up and patted her dress so that It didn't crease.

Cloud was bestowed by this wild creature, one of which he hadn't never encounter. 'Ethel….' Her named echoed in his head.

"Thank you lord…"

Her dainty voice had only just been heard by her parents and the young vampire.

"Your so clumsy effy, maybe your dress is to long?" Her mother wondered.

As the awkward scene had been cut when the door burst open when Clouds parents along with his four cousins.
