Han Beom's first day was fine and all but he felt uncomfortable from being this close to Ho Seok, the man keeps glancing at him getting the poor young man unable to calm nor focus on the work between his hands, he's lucky break time came so he can rush to the roof and call Aera hoping he'll help him but he encountered something more interesting.
"You met the new employee?" The first man said
"Han Beom?" The other one said. Luckily Beom heard them coming so he got enough time to hide somewhere he can still hear their talk, since they had mentioned him before entering the roof.
He watched them lighting their cigarettes so he got the chance to pull his phone out and record whatever they're gonna say and maybe blacklist them?
"As I asked, that new employee? He looks no joke, the expensive suit and his looks"
"Oh I saw all that, I wonder if he's the rumored employee that had help from someone working here. I mean, what he's wearing today is more than enough proof" Han Beom kept listening to whatever bullshit they were saying while his phone's still recording. He thanked heavens he had put his phone on deaf and on do not disturb mode so whatever notification or phone call that'd come doesn't disturb the recording.
But what he's hearing got him gritting his teeth from anger and his eyes seething red from them, he wants to get out and throw punches on the two of their faces but he can't, not yet. Aera taught him that patience is the key, especially with those people because no matter how long passes their dirty secrets will come to light and they'll regret it.
"Hmm but what should we do?" The first man asked, his mind seemed to be somewhere else, "What do you mean sir?"
"I mean we should proceed as planned but! We put the blame on the new employee" based on the two information he got, the first man is of higher position so Han Beom was left speechless, Aera did tell him stuff like this could happen in this world but he didn't expect to encounter it at his first day of his work.
"But why sir? If I may ask" the first man looked at the second one and smiled wickedly, "for two reasons. The first one is because the boy seems to be hating his job already, so how to make someone work for you with full loyalty? By ruining his experience in job so when he leaves he leaves in silence!" Han Beom thought about the bullshit that old man was spitting and none of it made sense for him, the idea of getting someone under your control is all useless because one day that hand you fed will bite you back, that's what Beom believed in.
"What about the second reason?" The second man asked, "that boy and Ho Seok seemed to be close, you probably haven't noticed but the way Ho Seok was looking at him and the reaction that little boy was giving showed they didn't have a normal relation"
"Could it be?"
"Yes, those two may be lovers and that Han kid got to his position by the help of Ho Seok and that's why that man seemed happy all the time even though there was no reason to be so" Beom felt like puking from all the bullshit he's hearing and he wanted to throw them from the roof this time because that conclusion they got to was the dumbest he'd ever heard.
"Sir, are you sure putting all the blame on Han Beom will be a good idea?" A laugh echoed in the roof making Beom and the second man flinch, "of course it is! At least we'll be able to get rid of the good two shoes Ho Seok! That man has been on my nerves ever since he joined the company! And the fact he promoted before me? Me?! Ha! I won't let him keep rising while I stay in place!!" The recording was still going while Han Beom's processing for what's going on stopped, the two in front of him want the fall for someone who's capable of his work, someone who deserved all the best because he worked hard, because he didn't depend on anyone for his current position.
Han Beom now won't expose them for trying to frame him only but also for trying to frame Ho Seok and trying to get things they want the dirty way, he doesn't care if what he's doing can put him in hard position too but he can't let the likes of those people get things their ways.
The two kept talking about whatever and after they ended their cigarettes, they left the place and for Beom's luck, they closed the door after them.
Once the place finally calmed down, he stopped the recording and saved it as an evidence then he stayed in his place. Breathing in and out, he started to think about his next step. It's rare for employees to have it this hard in their first day but Beom never thought he'll be one of the unlucky rare one.
But first he needs to tell Ho Seok about the things he found out.
But he loathes the man and still feels like punching him on the face, "no Beom, no. Now's not the time for that, we need to get the cockroaches out of here first, then you can punch him to your heart's satisfaction" he mumbled to himself.
He stood from his place and walked down the stairs to his floor and looked around in daze but his eyes were looking for certain someone, once he found him his eyes glowed and his feet rushed to him. One of his arms moved and pulled the big man by his collar to a room and shut the door after him.
All the employees witnessed what just happened and followed the two with their eyes until the door was shut and even locked with key, "who bet the two weren't lovers? Get your money out!!!" One of the employees yelled happily and those who lost the bet grumbled and pulled out the amount they had lost.
Beom pushed Ho Seok to the wall and caged him between his arms, "whoa, I'm getting the wrong idea here~" Ho Seok teased him inching closer but Beom stopped him and pushed him back to the wall glaring at him, "that's not time to make funny jokes, I have dangerous information related to the two of us, it's whether you take things seriously and help us to survive or you swallow the consequences alone.
He furrowed his eyebrows and nodded his head waiting to hear what Beom has, he took a deep breath and released it worrying Ho Seok more and more from what'll be told, "we'll be framed"
Ho Seok blinked few times and slowly started to understand what's going on, "we'll what?" he murmured.
