Chapter 30 - Rook

Draco watched as the woman from last time walked in with evident discomfort on her face. Next to her was a well built man in a suit and tie. He had slicked back hair and black sun-glasses on. Draco remembered him from the other day, Draco looked at his Title. 'Rook' And last to enter was a skinny looking man with reading glasses and a lab coat. He introduced himself as Toby saying he was going to be measuring the gems.

The man in the suit walked over to the corner of the room and proceeded to stand like a statue, while the women stood across from him in the other corner. She was however still looking as if to be uncomfortable. He paid the two no heed as he hadn't done anything wrong and as long as he didn't provoke them they had no grounds to hurt him. Draco had seen the eye pop up for the man in glasses but he refused to grab it.

If what he was thinking was correct, then these two would be D-rank at the very least. "Would you mind taking out your Spinewebs for me to look at please. Draco emptied his inventory of the gems he had and Toby got to work. The Rook's face flashed with confusion before returning to stone. He couldn't help wondering what he had done to get all those Spinewebs.

The S.A had done a background check on him and as far as they could tell he was an F-rank. He had been working as a janitor at a guild, and that he went to Web forest for a week after getting his Title. The man settled on the fact that he had just been shooting Goblins from afar the whole week after he saw the man's Title.

"That equals thirty eight Spinewebs, 31 F-rank Goblin gems. 6 F-rank spiderling gems, and 1 E-rank Bronchorn gem." The rook was in disbelief. "That's impossible," he looked at the gem that was from the Bronchorn then back at Draco. "Where did you get that gem from!" he shouted at Draco in a tone that was accusatory."

Toby chimed in before Draco said anything. "Let me remind you Rook that one of the rules we have here is that we buy gems, if you have a problem with the person selling them then please take it up with them outside the building." The man had no choice but to settle back down as that was the rules and his little outburst was going to get him into a bunch of trouble.

Draco looked at the rook, then over to the lady that had been staring at him this entire time, like he was a monster for its chance to attack. Before looking at Toby. "Shall we continue?" Toby asked. Draco nodded as he spoke. "Please." The man then put the Goblin gems into the essence reader to make sure he was correct. Ding! They looked at it and it never went above F-rank. "That's 31 F-rank Goblin gems, if my math is correct, that is $6,200."

Toby marked it down onto a sheet of paper before doing the same for the spiderling gems. Again it never went above F-rank. "Six F-rank spiderling gems, that's $1200, and lastly the Bronchorn gem." He put the said Spineweb into the device and started it. This time it started at E-rank, went above it to D-rank before settling back on E-rank. "High essence E-rank. It was probably on the verge of ranking up. That will be $600. Altogether that will equal $8000 dollars.

"I see you do not have an open account with us. We can set you up with an account or if you have a bank you would like us to send it to we can do that as well. You may get it in cash however with large amounts of money like this I would personally recommend not going that route." Draco thought for a minute and decided he would make an account with them.

The man then guided him out of the room to the tellers at the main area and gave them the bank note he had written his balance on. After confirming that he wanted to make an account they gave him a credit card. He walked out of the building with a smile on his face. He had enough money to join the F-rank doors, plus he would have $3000 left over to use however he liked.

Draco dropped the card into his inventory before he grabbed out his phone and found out that the Door he had been planning on going into had been cleared already. He continued looking for doors on his walk over to Aurora's guild house. By the time he had gotten there he still couldn't find an F-rank Door that was near their city. Deciding on finishing the search later he walked into the front doors of the Ouroboros guild.

Draco was greeted by the same person he had gotten the gift from. He asked if Aurora had returned and he said the attack force had just returned but she had already gone home. Draco listened then started to leave when the man at the front desk told him to come back. When he did, the man gave him a piece of paper. "This is Aurora's address, I'm not supposed to give this out to people, but seeing as you got a personal gift from her you two must know each other. Am I wrong in assuming that?"

Draco shook his head. "We grew up together," the man smiled, "perfect, here." Draco left the guild house and called for a taxi giving the driver her address. It was out of the way from the town. It was one of a few houses in the area seeing as this part of the city's buildings were extremally expensive. Draco couldn't help but get caught in his own doubts. "And you have been coming to our house all this time...you must pity us" Draco couldn't help mumbling under his breath. Draco got out, paying the man with his new card before walking up to the front door of the address's house and knocking.
