"Hey! Look the elders huts are right ahead!"
Dusk quickly snapped out of his own thoughts, taken back to reality by helgas words. The dripping blood on his hands still warm, keeping the memory alive, replaying over and over inside of the boys head.
Though one thing caught both of their attention as they approached, bodies. Bodies were everywhere, ones with servered limbs, ones with arrows in their back, sword or spears in their chest and sides, others were simply layed face down in the snow but all were clearly dead. The blood soaked into the snow turning it into a crimson paradise for those who love the very thought of battle.
"Cmon now, Night fall is soon and we have no time to spare."
They both treaded towards their asylum, still taking caution of their environment, the boy especially so.
The two moved as swiftly as possible, the snow beneath their feet crunching, the air around them still as if time had given up it's role, they inched closer and closer, almost there, the door right in front of them and finally—
"HEY!"
Surprised by the sound, dusk briskly drew helgas sword from her waistband with his left hand and swung down at the figure standing behind them with all his might.
[Clangggg!]
The sound of cold steel met with its own kind rang through the air
Jarl stood there, his sword being the only thing keeping the person behind him from being sliced clean in half
"Bloody hell boy, what are you doing?!" Egil popped his head out from behind jarl.
"Ah, Jarl?! Egil?!" The boy shouted in surprise, his demeanor changed to to a friendly one in only a moment, though his eyes didn't reflect it. They seemed almost lifeless.
"It's good to see you both safe as well, but we have no time to just dwaddle around! Let's hurry to the hut and plan for the future…. Who knows when they'll strike again." Egil said, his tone somber.
"They attacked you too?" Helga stepped forward, fear creeped across her face as she knew too well what this might mean…. No, what the definitive outcome was.
"….they attacked all of our lookouts, safe havens, and even subsidiaries…. Tribes which were only being supported by us…. They knew more information than what we let out." Egil responded
"But that means—
Dusk quickly caught on to what Egil was hinting at.
"That's right little one…. Somebody from inside leaked information to the enemy…. We just don't know who." Egil confirmed what the boy was already thinking.
They all were walking to the hut as they discussed the current situation… all but one person, jarl was still standing in the same position he was when he had reunited with the two.
"Father! Are you not coming?" Helga asked, concerned.
"I just need a moment to think…. I'll be with you all in a short time."
"…..understood." They all kept walking foward til they reached inside the abode.
Jarl looked up at the sky and then back down to his hand which was still shaking from the impact of clashing with the boy, he slowly turned around to see a shocking sight.
The mountains, the ocean, the trees, even the ground itself.
ᴛʜᴇ ᴇɴᴛɪʀᴇ ʟᴀɴᴅꜰᴏʀᴍ ʙᴇʜɪɴᴅ ʜɪᴍ ꜱʜɪꜰᴛᴇᴅ ᴅᴏᴡɴ
"…..What in the hell happened to him?"
"Those crooked bastards don't even know what they're doing!" Egil said as he slammed his giant cup of ale down, droplets the color of amber splashing near Helga and I.
It was already nightfall and we were sitting in a hut, not sure whose but it's much more grand than any of the other ones I've seen so far.
"Is this even a time to be conversing?! We must take action!" A man I had never seen before had said, his face red and full of frustration. His appearance was somewhat similar to jarls.
long red hair, a full beard and tall in stature but he didn't have that feeling to him like jarl did….. he didn't seem reliable.
"Calm down Fritjof, moving recklessly would only result in more death! How many of our kin are you willing to lose?" An old man responded to him, he had no hair in the front of his head but a little on the sides, it was white like the powder outside. Maybe even whiter.
"Plus we don't even know where saga is! As many enemies as there are and you want to—
"What about my mother?!" Helga jumped from her chair, it looked like fear embedded itself into every inch of her being
"Helga…. Not now." Jarl put his hand on her shoulder
"What do you mean not now?!" She screamed
"Am I just supposed to sit here and be fine knowing that my mother is out there with the enemy?!"
" I said not now."
The whole room went silent and everybody fell to the floor. I simply sat In my chair and just watched, puzzled by what I saw.
"Hey why are y'all all on the ground?! Are y'all ok?!" I sprinted over to Helga
" what's happening to them?!" I looked over to jarl who was still on his feet though he seemed more confused than I
"How are you still standing?"
