Chapter 1- New World

"It was predicted that the heavy rainfall will last for about 2 weeks non-stop, we advise the residents to stay at their houses"

The sound of the news resounded on his ears waking him up from his sleep, opening his eyes groggily.

"I fell asleep on the couch again?"

He murmured, then looked around, he squinted his eyes as he felt his eyesight was blurry.

"Hangover?"

He said in surprise before standing up and making his way towards the bathroom but on his way, he bumped into a lot of furniture as if he was not familiar with his surroundings anymore.

"What is happening? Where am I?"

He felt his head was hurting a lot, he looked around the room in great difficulty due to his blurry eyes but on the table, he saw something, no, he could only somehow see its figure but he still remembers this thing.

Walking closer to it and picking it up, it was circular glasses the same as the famous magician kid from the movies, he was sure.

"T-this is the glasses I threw away 30 years ago, how is it here?"

He was very confused about what is happening around him, he threw these glasses a long time ago because he had no need for them anymore, but somehow he still felt attached to them.

Taking a deep breath, he decided to wear the glasses, immediately after he wore it, his blurry sight immediately turned normal, and it was just a coincidence that he was facing the mirror.

There he saw a face that he had not seen in a very long time, probably even forgotten about it, his face when he was young.

He touched his face trying to feel if all of this was but a dream, if this is a dream, he doesn't want to wake up from it but he knew it was impossible, he then turned and looked around the room and it was the same room he had 30 years ago.

He felt emotional.

Just as he was feeling emotional, he heard footsteps from the outside, his heart stopped when he heard those footsteps, it was a painful memory of the past but somehow he wanted to see who it was, and he was hoping it was what he was expecting.

*Knock! *Knock!

"Leo! Wake up, it's time for breakfast"

It was but a voice of a woman, but to Leo, it sounded like a voice that was long gone, unknowingly, tears dropped from the corner of his eyes.

He tried to call for her but his voice seemed to be stuck into something.

Leo's mother opened the door when she didn't hear a response from Leo, but when she opened the door she saw him standing near the door, crying silently.

To others, it may seem like their children only had a nightmare but to her, she had seen this face before, this expression of someone who went through a lot, she didn't know what happened to her son but to see him like this breaks her heart.

"W-..."

She wanted to say something but she stopped herself and hugged her son, she didn't know what happened but right now her son needed someone he could cling to.

"Mom! I'm sorry, I'm so sorry"

Leo cried while saying sorry again and again as if a child had done something very wrong asking for his parent's forgiveness.

"It's okay, it's okay, don't cry, everything is alright"

Leo continued crying for a long time, the memories he had when he lost his mother felt livid when he saw her face, somehow he couldn't control his emotions, every frustration he had that were piling up like a mountain finally fell when he felt his mothers embrace again.

It took quite a while but Leo was finally able to calm down, after talking with his mother for a few more minutes, she left his room to give him some time for himself.

Leo lay on the bed while staring at the ceiling, he finally registered now, everything is real.

"Did I return from 30 years ago?"

He immediately stood up from his bed and opened his computer, it was his same old slow computer that takes about 30 minutes just to boot up, but while waiting for it, Leo decided to eat breakfast with his parents.

His mother's name was Eliana Sullivan while his Father name is Yodh Sullivan, his mother looked quiet she was in her early twenties despite being on her thirt-

Leo wanted to prevent that, he needed to find the cure for his mother.

Even Leo at that time didn't believe the game and only took notice of it about 9 years later after his parent's death, a very very late start if anyone says so.

But that was for another time if Leo remembers correctly, New World Online was released this New Year, which meant it has been 6 days since the release of New World Online.

Though even if he was late, Leo didn't have to worry that much since New World Online wasn't that popular when it was released, it was only by next year that its popularity will explode.

Since Leo had the time and information about the game, this time he will reach higher than the one he had in his past life.

After they finished eating breakfast.

"Mom, you can leave that there, I will do the dishes"

His mother and father were surprised by the words that came out of Leo's mouth, it wasn't like him.

Leo already got sick of that lifestyle and wanted to be productive, what he meant by productive this time is by playing a VR game.

That doesn't sound right…

With finally being sure of it, a smile crept into Leo's face.

Though his only problem would be his cold personality, maybe you know, there are a lot of M out there, they would pay to be ignored by a handsome guy or something.

But that was out of Leo's thoughts for now as he immediately unboxed everything he got, it didn't take a long time as Leo finished everything in an hour.

"Now, It's time to enter the New World, I kinda missed it from not playing for a while"

Leo wore the VR helmet and laid on the bed, unlike Occulus Rift where players are still needed to control their body, this VR helmet is the most latest item in World Technology.

It only has a single interface that covers a player's whole head and faces. It completely controls the player's consciousness by redirecting the signals the brain sends to the body and sending its own waves to stimulate the five senses. It has its own battery source, as well as a high-frequency electromagnetic microwaves transmitter.

Leo didn't know what the f*ck that means but it sounds cool.

"Now then, I have returned"
