Ding! dong!! The Large bell in front of the cathedral ran to everyone's hearing.
It was a full house or would you rather see a fool church.
Everyone had come to pay their last respects to multi-billionaire Henry Luther.
The high and mighty were there, and so were the poor and lonely.
"So the old man is really gone"? Rebecca whispered into Leroy's ears as tears streamed down from her eyes.
"He was such a lovely man". She said as Leroy put his arms around her to comfort her.
On his other side was his mother Miss Leticia Brodes. She gave birth to Leroy as a maid in Henry Luther's household.
His father left them when he was still a baby. At least that is what his mother told him.
Mr. Luther had been very nice and generous to them. He even funded Leroy's education.
Sending him to be trained in the military. Leroy was a very bright young child and he excelled above his peers. He joined the military and became a Navy SEAL.
He rose across the ranks to become the captain of his team and they went on so many successful convert missions from Europe to Afghanistan to the Caribbean Sea and even Africa.
This led to him and receiving several medals of Honor for his distinguished service to the United States of America.
After years of meritorious service, he decided to retire and return to the Luther household and serve as the head of Henry Luthers' security.
He held this position until Mr. Luthers' demise, about six months ago.
The preacher mounted the pulpit and began to preach a highly inspirational message about using one's life well and for the good of humanity.
If anyone epitomized this sort of life, it was Mr. Luther.
He impacted the lives of everyone who was around him including Leroy's.
When the preacher was done, Gabriel, Mr. Luthers' first child was called up to the pulpit to say some words concerning his father.
He gave a speech that moved the whole congregation to tears as everyone could relate to all that he said concerning his father.
The funeral service rounded up and everyone came out of the church and headed to the cemetery.
It was tears galore as Mr. Luther was lowered into his grave.
But instead of Sorrow, Leroy felt anger, resentment, regret, and failure for not being able to protect his principal Mr. Luther.
The coroner's report stated that he died of a cardiac arrest. But Leroy could not accept that.
"Mr. Luther was sound in health and had no known heart issues so how could he have died of cardiac arrest?" Leroy asked himself.
Over the six months since Mr. Luther died Leroy had tried severally to reopen the investigation into Mr. Henry Luthers' death, but the case was always shut down mysteriously by someone high above.
Mr. Luthers' death had all the marks of an assassination
After Mr. Luthers' interment, the guests returned to the Beverly Hills mansion and drinks were served.
Leroy watched as Gabriel went about appreciating the guests for coming while his stepmom, Sierra, went about looking for the next available man to jump into bed with, all in the name of appreciating her guests.
She was wearing a sexy black gown which was see-through because it had net parts in it.
"Who wears such to a funeral"? Leroy thought to himself.
Michael and Stacey Mr. Luther's second and third-born children were by the pool already partying with their friends.
"They could not even wait a day to celebrate his death"! Rebecca said.
"Such a bunch of ingrates"! She blurted out.
"Careful what you say, Rebecca, someone might hear you"! Leroy whispered to her ears.
" Remember we all still need this job", he said to her.
Rebecca scoffed at his words and casually walked away.
Leroy walked up the stairs so he would have a better view of the guests.
Subconsciously he was still suspicious of everyone. And it could be that Mr. Luthers' killer was in this very room
Suddenly he felt someone fold her arms into his. It was Tracey.
"Hey, Trace... How are you doing dear"? He asked her tenderly.
"Not good at all Roy! I still can't believe he's gone"! Tracey said with tears in her eyes.
"How could he die of a cardiac arrest? I refuse to believe that! There must be something fishy going on"! She continued saying as she wept even more.
"This is not the time and the place to discuss this and the autopsy already told us that it was natural causes, so let us believe them and let sleepiness dogs lie".
Leroy said as he put his hands around her and kissed her on her forehead.
He quickly took his hands off her at the sight of Mrs. Sierra Luther.
He had almost forgotten that they were in a public place and he shouldn't be seen frolicking with his dead masters' adopted child at the funeral.
It would send the wrong message to everyone around.
Unfortunately, Sierra had already spotted them and made a beeline for them.
"Come on, get a room, you two! You don't need your hide and seek games anymore". She said as she looked at them disdainfully.
Leroy was a little surprised to hear Sierra make such remarks.
They had succeeded in keeping their relationship a secret for so long, even the late Mr. Luther had no idea what was going on.
But all that was gone now... Sierra had known all this while and chosen to stay silent about it.
Just as he was thinking about these things Tracey suddenly let go of his arms and was about to slump to the ground.
His reflexes were sharp enough to catch her before her body hit the ground.
"Trace? Tracey! Can you hear me?" He asked with a worried look on his face.
"Somebody get me water!" He screamed in the direction of the other servants who were already on their way to do his bidding.
A little sprinkle of water on her face was enough to revive her and she managed to sit up.
"What happened?" She asked as she look around with a dazed look on her face.
A crowd of guests had gathered around them as they sought to know if Tracey was okay.
"She's fine, She's fine! Please give us some air", Rebecca said as she hysterically waved her hands in the air in order to disperse the crowd.
Leroy then gently picked Tracey up and carried her upstairs to her room with Gabriel who was worried following closely behind.
Inside the room, Leroy laid her gently on the bed, and Mrs. Brodes brought her a glass of water to drink.
"I will get the doctor at once Trace", Gabriel said and he left after making sure she was fine.
Sierra came around to check on her but didn't stay long as she to them that she had to return to attend to the guests. She lied, she had found a new boy toy who she wanted to bed quickly.
Michael and Stacey had no idea of what was going on inside the house as they kept on parting with their friends at the poolside.
"How does one party at their fathers' funeral?" Rebecca asked Leroy with a disdainful look on her face.
"There they are!" Leroy replied as they both gazed at them from Traceys' room window.
In the immediate aftermath of Tracey fainting, the guests gradually began to leave the house. One by one, they paid their final respects, got into their exotic vehicles, and left.
Rebecca got tired of the loud music and went down to the pool where the children were still partying.
She went to the wall socket where the music was plugged into and yanked it out.
"Oh No! What the hell is going on?" The kids asked in anger.
"Isn't it too early to party? We just finished your dads' funeral!" She said while giving a burning stare to Michael and Stacey.
"And isn't it getting too late according to your watches?" She said as she gave the other kids the same burning stare.
That was their cue to leave and they began to leave the mansion.
"You're such a kill-vibe!" Stacey said to Rebecca in frustration.
"Never mind her Stacey, she will soon be dealt with! They all will soon be dealt with!" Michael said.
"Hahahahaha!" Rebecca laughed hysterically.
"You think I'm scared you're gonna lay me off? Please be my guest!" She said and she walked out on both of them.
"Arrgh!" Michael grunted in frustration. "I feel like snapping her neck in two!" He said.
"Now wouldn't that be very foolish of you!" A voice said from behind them.
They turned around to see Sierra smiling behind them with a stick of cigarette in her mouth and a glass of champagne in her hands.
"Don't get your hands dirty with such business my dears, she will be taken care of". Sierra said to them.
"But she's not part of the plan!" Michael said with a confused look on his face
"Have you heard of the term, "collateral damage", before?" She asked Michael with a smile on her face
