Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: Remember

Althea awoke around one a.m. to the sound of the main door opening and closing forcibly. Allan stomps over to the restroom and throws the door shut, causing the room to shake slightly. She grumbles as she notices the darkness around her.

She then heard Allan turn on the shower and bath while she slept, only to be woken up again by the bed dipping beside her. Allan approaches her and wraps his arms around her waist as if he has forgotten what happened earlier.

She pulls away again, "Don't touch me," she says seriously. He receives nothing from her until everything is resolved.

He lets out a soft growl but says nothing. Instead, he moves back to his side of the bed to respect her wishes. She was taken aback, but her mind reasoned that this was one of his "tactics" to win her over for when she remembered everything.

"Oh, if only I could remember," she mutters as she awakens late in the afternoon, around three o'clock. She raises her head, but immediately groans, feeling excruciating pain in the front and back of her head. I guess I'm not getting out of bed today. She then opens her eyes and looks around, coming to a halt when she notices Allan asleep on the couch.

He blinks open his eyes and stares at her for a long moment before getting up and walking into the kitchen. He returns with a glass of water and something in his hand. "Here," he hands her medicine and a glass of water, "this should help with the headache," he says.

Althea examined the pill, unsure whether she could trust him. "I can feel your headache too," he says as he notices this.

She exhaled a small sigh before inhaling the pull and taking a drink. It tasted disgusting, but if it helps, it will be worth it. Allan sits on the edge of the bed and stares at her, and she stares back her heart racing.

"I know you don't completely trust me anymore," Allan says as he turns away. She nods, knowing he can't see her do so. "But if you remember everything-" he turns to face her, "remember that I can be a mate." She gives him a sad look, unsure what to say. He portrays her remembering as the worst thing in the world. She knows she'll be conflicted once she remembers everything.

Allan stepped out of the room, closing the door behind him, just as she was about to respond. She let out a small groan as she sensed her companion's frustration. "Ohh Allan, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with you anymore," she thought to herself.

Then a knock on the door breaks her spell of sadness. She shuffles over to the door and peers through the tiny hole. Oliver, she notices your familiar black hair.

She was undecided about opening the door. No, she said she wouldn't see Allan again, and they don't need any more problems.

"Althea, I need to talk to you," Oliver shouts through the door, knocking again.

She bit her lip, wanting to respond but not wanting him to know she was there. "Please?" he asks, his voice pleading. Althea waits by the door for him to leave. She promised herself she would not open the door.

For a few seconds, the room was silent before she heard a loud bang against her door. Oliver either kicked the door or slammed his entire body into it. "Althea! It's important!" he yells again, only to be cut off by his comrade.

"You jerk!" exclaims Allan, who is upset. Her wolf howls for him to calm down because that is their job.

"Do you remember what I said the last time?" he growls. She stands up and looks through the peephole at Allan, who is holding Oliver up by the neck.

He gasps for air, "Allan-please! I-I just want to-o to talk to your mate!" he weeps, knowing she would never see him cry. But she never imagined Allan to be violent.

Althea looks around and notices a girl covered in her blood. She couldn't see her face, but she could tell she was crying. She then turns around to see Allan, who is hiding in the shadows.

He approaches the girl and licks her blood, revealing scars. She was attempting suicide as she pondered why.

With a smirk, Allan takes the shaver from her and brings it down to her thigh, craving Allan's mate into her thigh.

She blinks several times to bring herself to the present moment. That wasn't just any random girl; it was her the first time she met Allan. He sculpted it into her thigh as if to appraise her that there was no way out now.

She then unlocks and throws open the door, her anger rising. She stomps over to Allan and delivers the strongest punch she can muster. He lets go of Oliver and throws him to the hard ground. Surprised, he holds his bleeding nose.

She felt it, but she didn't even care; it stung like hell, and that's what he was feeling. As he takes a step back, his eyes widen. She quickly grabbed Oliver's hand and drew him into the room before Allan arrived.

She quickly locked the door behind her, and Allan was banging on the door in less than a second. "Althea, god damnit, open this mother f*cking door!" he yells. His wolf was attempting to calm him down, but it wasn't working. She sat on the bed, back away from the door.

"Why did you do that?" Oliver inquires, his voice full of curiosity. He approaches her and takes a seat beside her.

Althea looks over at him and notices bruises on his neck; she wishes she had intervened sooner.

After seeing that prequel, a small part of her seemed to crumble. The piece that was beginning to trust Allan loves him.

"I finally remember everything," she says quietly, letting out a sigh. Allan's banging comes to a halt, and an ear-piercing growl rings out through the walls.
