Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Can I mark you?

She flipped over to face him; he was awake, and his eyes were a beautiful green. Althea raised her hand and gently stroked his cheek, which was as soft as a toddler's bum.

"Thank you for everything, Anthony," she says, leaning in to kiss his cheek, but he moves a little and kisses her instead. Her face flushes, but thankfully the room was dark.

Anthony pulls away, but she remains close. "Can I mark you, Thea?" he asks, his voice shaking with fear of rejection.

Her eyes widen, did he want to mark her? "But Anthony, you have a mate out there," she says, her wolf nodding in agreement. She was hesitant to stay close to him right now, but she pushed her away. She trusted him far more than she did Allan.

"You are more important to me Thea; you have been there for me on all my good and bad days, and now I need to be there for you; if I mark you, he can't mark you," he explains. She thinks as she looks out the window. Is it worthwhile? He is giving up his mate for her.

Althea's wolf howls as she speaks, and she bites her lower lip.

Allan had been marked by her, but it was pointless unless he also marked her. Surprisingly, he didn't.

Anthony then kisses her passionately once more. He was her first kiss, and she felt a little guilty, but that was only the beginning of their relationship. She despised Allan. She returns his kiss while closing her eyes. He eventually pulls away and moves down to her neck, nipping around. He doesn't take long to find her tender spot, she moaned, and she could feel him smile as he kissed it before his canines appeared.

"This will hurt, but once you mark me, the pain will go away," he says as he digs his canines into her neck.

She screamed as she felt her entire world spin around. He backs up and licks her new mark.

She looked up at him, focused her vision, and flipped them over so she was on top.

She saunters down and nibbles on his neck. She bit down when she heard him moan. He didn't scream but instead froze.

She took a deep breath and collapsed on him. She couldn't believe she'd done it, but she was relieved. Allan couldn't keep her to himself any longer. As she lay on top of him, she felt his hand rub her back.

"I love you, my Thea," Anthony says as he kisses her on the cheek.

She smiles, looks into his green eyes, and says, "I love you," before moving up and kissing him. If Allan appeared in her life again, she wouldn't know what to do.

When she was marked, she knew Allan felt her pain because he knew what she was doing. He would certainly look harder for her if he could. His wolf should be in pain right now, indicating that he is weaker than usual.

"Thank you, Thea," Anthony says, wrapping his arms around her and embracing her in a warm hug.

"Thanks for what?" she inquires, curious as to what he meant. She should be the grateful one; she was marked by someone she cared about. Not the type of person who would murder her if she wasn't hilited.

"For being here, with me," Anthony says smoothly, with a small laugh.

Allan growled and paced around, waiting for his friends to come and help him. Xian is surprised to learn that his mate escaped and killed Henry, but he understands the situation and agrees to assist him in tracking down his mate. She could have gotten quite far by now, and he wasn't afraid to ask for help, except when it came to killing, which he did alone.

"Hey Allan," he says, turning around to see Xian in his gym shorts, who has just shifted back. "How are we doing-"

He abruptly cut him off by collapsing to the ground. He let out a growl while clutching his heart. It felt like it was being ripped apart.

"F*ck, something's wrong," he murmured.

"Woah, what the f*ck," Xian says as he approaches him. He shook his head and collapsed, panting in pain. "Your mark, Allan..."

He raises his arm and checks Allan's neck for puncture holes, but there are none. "Sh*t! Sh*t!! She f*cking marked somebody else! If I had only marked her before this sh*t wouldn't have happened! If I find- no, when I find her she is going to be marked instantly. A mate's mark could overpower anybody else's," he clenched his fist angrily.

The pain has subsided for a while, but it returns when his wolf begins howling in pain. He remained motionless on the ground, his eyes blood red.

Allan despised pain and preferred to inflict it. He hasn't experienced such agony since he was a child.

Xian should keep a few feet away from him in case Allan snaps and attacks him. That would only occur if Althea f*cked whoever she mated with. "Who could it be, Anthony?" he wondered.

His adrenaline rushes as he rises from the ground. His wolf was vulnerable, but he isn't, and he intends to find her and ruin her life. "Hey, are you all right?" Xian inquires.

"My wolf is sh*t," Allan says, clenching his teeth, "but I'm not going to give up; she's going to pay for this." "Anyway, you search down the coast of the town, and I search west."

Xian splits up with a nod. Allan took over the entire West side because he could smell her from twice the distance they could.

He transformed into his weak wolf, planting heavily as he walked through the dense forest. He couldn't blame him; it wasn't their fault, but rather the fault of their pathetic mate. He was her mate, and that was the end of it!

He sniffed the surrounding sixty miles all day and found nothing. As he returned to meet Xian, he glared at everything he passed. Hopefully, they discovered something he did not.

He noticed Xian leaning against the tree where they were meeting. He goes behind a tree and shifts back, putting on his boxers and not caring. He probably already looked like sh*t.

"You look like you haven't slept in a week," Xian says, frowning. "Are you going to be okay?" he asks.

"Yeah, now did you find anything?" Allan asks, snubbing their politeness. He didn't have time for that; he needed to know where she was.

"Well, I discovered we smelled, but I couldn't figure out where it came from because of the strong wind," Xian explained, shoving his hands into his jeans pockets.

"Tomorrow we'll go search around there, for now, a motel and some killing," Allan groans, clapping his hands together. Xian nodded, and they parted ways, heading to different parts of town.
