The ground first started with a low rumbling so slight it was thought of as only a figment of imaginary thoughts. However, with the passing of the next few seconds, those convulsions failed to cease but instead grew more intense in tremors. Inconspicuous cracks not noticed by others before now fracture to larger fissures the width of three adult fingers wide.
It was at this moment, akin to a bolt of lightning striking across the sky, that people realized the danger of this sudden event. Screams of a higher volume arose right after, carrying the fears and unrest of weaker humans in the face of life-threatening disasters.
