After disembarking the steamer with Tiamet and my luggage I pull out the recommendation letter from Dr Van Der Hass which says
To Dr Claus Schwieger

After reading the address off the letter we manage to find it without too much difficulty almost tucked into an alley I knock on the thick iron door and after about 30 seconds I see a slot open about two thirds up the door to show a tan man's face looking at me who asks me in thick German accented English
"Who are you and what do you want "
"I am Kian Vos I have an introduction letter from Dr Van Der Hass " I answer while handing him the letter for my introduction
After grabbing the envelope Dr Claus reads the letter and almost immediately changes his attitude and says
"Oh yes you're the young soldier Andre said he needed my help with come on inside" after saying that he unlocks the door and ushers me inside his office.
The inside of Dr Claus's office was furnished with oak floors,photos of rough looking men and women in strange uniforms holding weapons, and several impressive stuffed creatures, several assorted firearms, and a massive grandfather clock with a hunting motif to which I comment " wow nice collection doctor, what is to be done about my eye by the way"
"Of course young man first I'll need you to sit down in my exam chair " he says pointing to a very comfortable looking chair not too different from what you see in barbershops.
"Alright doctor whatever you say" I answer as a sit down and relax
"Alright soldier I'm gonna need you to hold still while I put this on on your head " he says while putting a strange contraption on my head which has a monocle-like device to hold my bad eye open while he readies a syringe with a blueish liquid in it and pours some liquid out on a rag and says " here smell this for me "
"Hey this smells funny------"
20 minutes later
" Willkommen zurrück so do you want the good news or the strange news first "
"Please give me the good news because that rag gave me a headache doctor "
"Of course the good news is that the procedure was a complete success the strange news is that somehow the chemical had a stronger effect than expected so not only does your your bad eye have full functionality again it appears that your eyes have all around improved especially in their ability to react to light which means you will have much better night vision from now on"
"That's great doctor on both accounts is there any negative effects in your professional opinion " I ask
"Well you are going to have some problems with sudden bright light so I had your lady friend get these from the jewelery shop down the street, a charming woman your friend is by the way" doctor Claus says as he hands me a mahogany box with two finely made pairs of sunglasses inside "The jeweler is a friend and was able to make these for you he made them extremely durable and threw in an extra pair in case a pair breaks"
"Thank you doctor I'll take good care of them" I say as I put on the sunglasses "That's much better thank you so where am I supposed to go next I was told you had a recommendation for me doctor "
"Oh of course I do but that is something we can take care of tomorrow please I had your luggage moved to your room and had my wife Broomhilda make you some food for before bed bit first thing in the morning I will take you to sign up " Dr Claus says with a smile
I thank him for being so helpful and eat the blood sausage and sauerkraut the doctors wife made me before falling to sleep for the night
