"Are you okay sweetheart? Her mother asked moving closer to her.
Haley quickly became alerted at her action but she pretends to be weak. She knew her mother will not mind following her inside the room to ensure she was fine.
"Mother don't worry, I am fine. The incident of yesterday just came rushing into my mind" Haley lied with an half smile on her face.
"Then you will need to see a therapist to help you come out of this situation. I will speak to your father any talks of a new marriage date will have to be on hold" Her mother said as she tried to help her into her room.
"Mother don't worry. I will be fine you don't need to follow me to my room. I am no longer a child" Haley protested as she held on to the door firmly
"What nonsense are you talking about. You are still my sweet little girl. Come I will escort you to your bed"
Befor Haley could mount anothet protest her mother pushed the door open as she half dragged Haley with her. Haley wanted to speak in anger but kept quiet when she saw no sign of Pedro in the room. Even the mirror that was shattered by the bullet from the sniper was no where to be found. The pieces were also no where to be found but the empty space for the mirror was visible.
"You are acting so strange. Please take your rest by tomorrow I will call the family therapist. You will need to start a session with him" her mother insisted as she helped her to her bed. She gentily helped her removed her shoes and her jacket as she laid her on the bed.
Meanwhile Haley was totally lost in her thought as she wondered where Pedro must have gone to.
"Sweetheart I really wish you didn't have to take a case this period. I know you like using your work to clear your head its the same thing I do but this case is different. Look how weak you are " Her mother said patting her on her hair gentily.
Haley could see the look of care and concern on the face of her mother and she instantly felt pity for her. She was a complete opposite of her father.
Infact Mrs Drinkwater had initially not agreed to the marriage plan too but then she has no choice when the details were revealed. She was a caring soft woman who was a great opposite to her father who have not really shown care for her but only anger towards the person who abducted.
Haley wished you could tell her mother she was really fine but only bordered about some other things but then she didn't know if she could tell her mothers those secrets now. She fear her father may find out from her. So she just have to pretend tto be weak for now.
"Mother don't worry. I will be fine. By the time I sleep and I wake up tomorrow I am sure I will be fine " Haley replied her mother as she flashed a smile.
"Wait, where is the big mirror in your room? Her mother asked when she noticed the absence.
"Oh mother don't worry about it. I made plans to have it changed " Haley quickly gave an excuse.
Mrs Drinkwater looked at her suspiciously for some seconds but decided to leave her alone to rest.
"I know you have something to tell me but don't worry I will allow you rest for now " Her mother said with a serious look on her face at the door befor leaving closing the door gentily.
Haley instantly became worried with the last statement of her mother and the absence of Pedro
