Askel watched her eyes widen, he saw the array of emotions that flitted across her crimson orbs for a very brief moment before her eyes turned cold.
Although she closed herself up immediately and concealed her emotions from him, the one thing Askel could see clearly was the fact that she was wary of him.
Askel could not understand this reaction, he watched with possessive rage as his mate for whom he had waited all his life took another step back and away from him.
"You..." Askel began in a low, dangerous growl.
"...are yours? I already heard you the first time." She replied.
Her voice was soft yet firm, light yet imposing and carrying a graceful dominance with it.
Her voice left Askel's heart trembling and his knees weak as surely as her words did, her affirmation soothed Askel's rage immediately and his wolf growled in approval, retreating back into Askel's mind in satisfaction.
