Nile's eyes fluttered open after a moment of quiet to catch a hand hovering over his hair,
Nile figured the merman had intended to stroke his hair as a gesture of comfort but had been contemplating it before Nile caught him in the act.
Nile found this merman rather intriguing, his actions and impulses were strangely tender, unlike what Nile would have expected of a battle mer who was practically his captive at this point.
From what Nile knew of mers, they were calm and reserved creatures but always retaliated brutally when someone overstepped their limits.
It was why Nile knew clearly the Sea King's intent to flood the Floral Domain was a personal vendetta and his mers were in agreement with him because it simply was their nature.
Like the calm before the storm, they were never the ones to stir up trouble first but never shied away from it either.
