Author's POV
Everyone is quite busy in the office. Today is the big day for the Shah and Co. They are going to a big collaboration with another Co for their upcoming project. If today's meeting got successful, they are going to have an investment for it. As everyone was very nervous, a girl in her early 20s came inside. It highly loaded her with branded clothes. With her high heels making an irritative sound. She utterly disgusted everyone. They started giving looks saying 'why she is here??', 'did she again come to disturb Hiba mam??' As they were busy giving looks to each other. She said with pride in her tone,
"What are you guys doing?? Didn't you know how important today's meeting is?? I am warning you beforehand only, if because of anyone's mistake we didn't get the deal. It would be the last day of theirs in the office."
"What she thinks of herself??? She didn't do any work as she is the daughter of the boss. She didn't even know B of business. Yet, she shows like she's the one who runs the company." One employee whispered to the other.
"Where is she?? I mean, head of your department, Hiba. How can she be so irresponsible?? I don't know why dad likes her so much??" she said with a sense of hatred in her voice.
"She is pure jealous of Hiba, ma'am. She can't stand that her father gives more importance to Hiba ma'am's advice than her." another employee whispered.
"Sana ma'am, she never gets late. There must be a valid reason for her delay." One of them said.
But before she would say anything else, everyone saw Hiba coming into the department. As always, her expression was blank. She gave one glance to everyone present.
"Ohh!! Sana is also here. How come today you forgot your way and came here?? Anything special??" She asked Sana while giving the files in her hands to another employee.
"How dare you call me by my name?? You should call me mam!! I am your boss's daughter. Show some respect." Sana breaks out in anger. It was clear from her face that she completely hated Hiba. But it didn't affect her at all. Instead, she replied with a completely relaxed look.
"And why should I do that??? You didn't work here, nor are you my boss!! So I don't see a reason to call you mam. You are just an outsider to me. And I don't call outsiders mam/sir."
"YOU!!!-" but was cut off in between by Hiba saying,
"If you have nothing else to say, please leave. We have an important meeting today. I would like to have a discussion about it with my colleagues. So kindly leave."
After getting insulted by an employee, she left banging her heels on the ground. All was giggling quietly, seeing her tantrums. It's not the first time she got insulted by Hiba. It happens every time she tries to be bossy around her. But she never learns the lesson and does it again and again. After her departure, everyone started doing their work.
Hiba went to her cabin. That's when everyone took a sigh of relief. She was the head of the department. She hates mistakes. Even after being a lady, she was not less ruthless and cruel than a man when it comes to mistakes. Her single gaze can send a shiver down your spine. She let no one know if she was happy with their work or not. She has a dangerous and cold aura around her. No one in the office can match her level of excellence. That's why her boss also likes her very much. She got her position as head in a few years also because of her excellence. Even being ruthless, she treats no one badly. She never talks unless it is necessary. She has pure confidence in her every work.
After getting everything, she went to her boss to go to the required place. It took half an hour to go there. After they reached the meeting, it started in no time. She explained the entire presentation to the investors. And luckily they got the deal. Everyone was congratulating each other. She smiled a little while shaking hands. That's when she noticed the son of the investor coming to congratulate her. He came and forwarded his hand and asked,
"Ain't you happy??? You got the deal finally."
"No, I'm thrilled." She replied, furrowing her eyebrows in confusion.
"Then why are you not like that??" He asked. But before she could answer, her boss said instead,
"She is just like that. She never shows emotion on her face. You will get habitual to it once you work with her. She is one of my favorite employees. She is best in every aspect you can think." With a big smile, her boss did her praising. But she was unaffected by it. She just smiles a little at it as well.
"Looking forward to work with you, Ms. Hiba." He said with a smirk on his face.
"Sure!! Same here." She said with a shaking hand with him. While ignoring the smirk.
Tabish's POV
There was a girl I saw at the petrol pump. Standing in a black Kurti and blue jeans. She has a slender figure with a petite height. Her skin was olive in color. She has close-set eyes with thin eyebrows and dark eyelashes. She had a narrow nose, rosy cheeks, and pouty lips. Her face was oval in shape. Her hair was a little wavy and brown in color. There was a mysterious aura around her. I don't know what is so special about her that I keep staring at her??
She was busy scanning her card to make the payment. But, didn't succeed. I was busy looking at her that it took me a minute to realize that she was using the wrong machine. I also used it before. And one employee said it doesn't work properly sometimes. So, I waved at her to tell her to use the machine here. At first, she thought I was talking to someone else. After realizing that I was talking to her only, she came. As she was about to reach, one bastard from the car started flirting with her. And when she rejected him directly. He came out of the car and held her wrist. As I was about to react, she was faster than me. She removed her hand from his grip and twisted it back painfully. With her free hand, she jabbed him in the nose, and her left knee connected to his dick. He fell to his knees. I was too shocked at the sight. I was busy staring at her; I didn't know what happened next.
I came back to reality when she was looking at me with a what-the-fuck-happened-to-you look. Reading my looks, she asked if it was a big deal to see a girl protecting herself?? I chuckle a little. But before I could answer, a boy came out of nowhere and asked her what's causing her delay?? He was her brother. I couldn't hold myself from asking him,
"If you were there, why didn't you come to help his sister??" He simply said. He didn't bother because he knew what his sister was capable of. With that brother-sister duo, they vanished from my sight.
After their disappearance, I turned back to my car and drove off. I reached my office and straightaway went to my cabin. Her stunt was still going on in my head repeatedly. She has pure confidence in her. Finally, to divert my mind from her, I started working. After great difficulty, I could concentrate on it. I got so lost in work that I didn't have my lunch as well. Time flew away, and it was time to leave. I wouldn't realize it if my PA didn't ask me when I was leaving?? I looked at the clock. It was 7.30 pm. That's when I realize that I have completed a day. I told him to leave cause' I had some emails to reply to. I would leave after that. It was 8.30 pm. When I finished my work. After gathering everything, I set out. As I reached my car, my phone rang. While unlocking my car I didn't see the caller ID. And picked up the call. As soon as the call connected, a loud voice came from the other side. And it wasn't hard for me to recognize that I had picked the wrong person's call.
"HEYY, MAN. I'M BACK." He shouted at his extreme. Because of that stupid's loud tone, I draw the phone slightly away from my ear. He almost destroyed my precious eardrums.
"Rayan, can you please do a favor to your throat and my ears by not shouting?? As far as I remember, I am not deaf. And even if it was, it wouldn't be any use shouting. So please low down your voice. Cause' I will be soon deaf after you destroy my eardrums with your voice." I told him while getting in the car.
"Ohh!! Please can you stop lecturing me??? And tell me where are you??" He replied, fully ignoring my request, and started blabbing his own.
"Where would I be?? Going home. It's quite late than usual. Ammi would be worried about me."
"OHH!! C'mon man. We aren't kids anymore. Why would she be worried??? You aren't a small child, you would get lost. You are a grown-up man. Let's go have a dinner party tonight. After that, we'll see. Call Khala and inform her. Simple as that. She won't be worried as well. Let's go!!" I rolled my eyes at his reply. Why does he have to be so hyper every time?? Before I could say anything, he again asked,
"Heyy, man. Were you lost?? Come!! I am not taking 'NO' as an answer. UNDERSTOOD!!"
"Tell me why I am still friends with you??"
"Cause I know your deepest, darkest secrets." He said. And I know he would have said it with a smirk.
"Fine!! Where to come?? And I'm telling you I won't go anywhere after that. Fine??"
"We'll see it afterward. Do you remember Zain from our college?? He opened the restaurant a couple of years ago. It's quite famous nowadays. Let's try it out. What say??"
"Fine. As if I said no and you'll agree with it." I replied being frustrated by him.
"Good!! Happy to know that you already knew it."
"Shut up!! You bastard and send the address." I replied and hung up the call. After he sent the address. I started the car and drove off to it.
Hiba's POV,
After the meeting got finished, the boss gave me half-day off as the deal got final. He wants me to join me at the party this weekend. I wanted to refuse, but he said I'm the prime star of it. So, I have to come. After he insisted, I agree with it. Thereafter, leaving the office, I thought to go straight home and have some sleep. As I entered the parking lot, my phone started ringing. It was in my purse; it took me a minute or two to find it. There again I saw the caller ID. It was none other than my little sis. In a short while, she called me twice. Thinking it might be something important, I called her quickly. After the call got received. I asked in a worried tone.
"Kashish, is everything alright??? Did you also do something like Hamdan??"
"No, aapi. How can you think like that about me??? I'm way better than Hamdan. OKK!! Don't dare to compare me with him again." She snapped at me.
"OHH!! Then why did you call me???"
"Cause' my presentation got selected. Everyone liked it very much." She replied with excitement in her tone.
"Ohh, really!! Good." It thrilled me. She really worked hard for it.
"Kya aapi?? Can't you show a bit of happiness for your little cute sis?? Government hasn't put taxes on it, thankfully." She said with sarcasm.
I rolled my eyes at her reply. And though, here we go again. She started again with her melodrama. Sometimes, I doubt that if she is really 20 or her birth certificate is fake. Cause' as far as I know, her behavior says something else. It feels like she is still in her teenage years. Keeping aside my thoughts, I asked her,
"What do you want to do then?? Cause' you didn't call me to inform me about it only. There would be some other reason else. As you could tell me this at home as well. So, speak!!!"
"Aapi, you know sometimes it feels like you are my stepmother or I am your some business client. As you have to come straight to the point. I'm your sister. Let me feel it as well sometimes."
"Cause it's my default setting. I don't like to talk much. And if you don't feel like my sister, fine. I won't save you again. OKK!!" I said with a smirk.
"Aapi," she cried and continued, "I want to go out with you. We will watch a movie and do some shopping after that. And have dinner outside. We'll call Hamdan as well. We haven't gone to our sibling's weekend dinner for two weeks. As we were all busy with our work. Let's do it tonight. I know it's not the weekend, but still. There's a restaurant my friend suggested to me. It's quite famous nowadays. Its food is really outstanding. We can go there. And I promise we won't watch some romantic movie. We will watch something else. What do you think??" She spoke all this in one go. Without giving me a chance to speak in between.
"No, I didn't want to. I'm busy." I denied her plainly. It is something on my hate list that is going out when it's not important. I won't do it until it's necessary. And I hate going to a crowded place. Especially, watching a movie which I can't skip the part as I wish is the worst.
"Aapi, I know you are not in the office. So, please come na." she pleaded. I thought about how she knows that I'm not at the office. But before I could ask, she answered my unasked question, "Cause if you were in office, your phone would be in silent mode. I was just trying my luck. And you picked it. Please, come na."
"Fine. Wait at your college only. I'm coming to pick you." I agreed with her to save myself from her further pleading.
I went there and picked her up. We spend the entire day, according to her. We called Hamdan and told him about her plan. He immediately accepts it. Sometimes, I feel if I am their actual sister or not. I am nothing like them. We reached the restaurant at 8.30 pm. I called Hamdan to ask where he is?? He said he'd be here in 15 minutes. We ordered food for us and waited for him. As 10 minutes passed, he again called me.
"Aapi, I need your help." He said nervously. I understood, oh boyy, he did something serious this time. I didn't give my brain much stress and straightaway asked him,
"What the hell did you do this time??" I try to keep my voice as low as possible. We were at the restaurant. I can't shout at him here.
"Aapi, I mistakenly hit someone's bike. And he wants to compensate for it."
"Wait, what??" I smashed the phone against my ear. "Did I hear you say you hit someone's bike??"
There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line before I heard the quiet reply, "Yes." I gripped the phone hard and swallowed the panic threatening to climb up my chest.
"I need you to gather all your working brain cells right now that aren't infected by your stupidity. And tell me where the hell is you??" I said gritting my teeth to suppress the anger.
"Just outside the restaurant." I hung up the call and ran out. Praying God to give me strength to clear up his mess without smashing his head against the wall.
