Joem flew Beabianca to the hospital on a private helicopter. She got admitted to the VIP room and the doctors attended to her wounds. Joem stayed by her side all night tending to her needs.
Back home, Avia was left to host the party for three more hours before she bid the guests goodbye. She put up a front and made an excuse for Beabianca's behavior to avoid rumors spreading about Joem.
Once the guests had exited the estate. Avia was left in an empty hall with a bleeding heart. With a reality check of what her marriage was.
Beabianca batted her eyes and Joem ran to her side without an ounce of hesitation. The man that once belonged to her was too far gone for her to reach out to him. The glimmer of hope she had gotten from the moment they shared in Joem's room faded out.
Avia recalled Joem's cold eyes before he left. They were colder than when they saw each other again for the first time. Though she had nothing to do with what Beabianca pulled, she was blamed nonetheless.
Avia sat down on the floor in the empty dark room. Embracing the darkness, was the only thing she found comforting. Hot tears streamed down her cheeks.
Her heart was heavy with guilt over what Beabianca did. She pushed Beabianca to the point where she had to take such a step to prove a point. Reaching out to the love that once was proved more dangerous than she had expected.
Mayla made her way into the hall. Using a flashlight in her phone to track down Avia. She was worried and concerned for the young miss. Afraid of the consequences that would come with the stunt Beabianca pulled.
"There you are, ma'am," she exclaimed spotting Avia in a corner of the room.
"Have you ever felt like there is no soul in the world that cares for you?" Avia asked.
Her parents cared more about status and money to value what she wanted. Nathan was in love with the idea of being with her rather than loving her as a person. The only person that has ever truly loved her had moved on and turned her into the villain of his story.
She was alone.
Heartbroken and shattered.
"The worst day of loving someone is when you look into their eyes and don't see your soul staring back at you," Malya stated. "Master Joem felt that when you left him. I had never seen anyone look so lifeless in my life," she added thinking back to the day Beabianca brought Joem home.
Avia lifted her head to look at her. Beabianca and Joem showed her what happened the day she broke up with him. None of them told her of what Joem had to go through for them to reach that point.
Malya's words were giving her a glimpse of what that was. She wanted to know more.
"What happened?" her curiosity got the better of her. Malya couldn't count the number of times Joem gave up on life. The tears he cried for the love that once was and all the therapists he had seen to try to get past it.
His world came crumbling down when he lost Avia. Joem saw no reason to keep living. It was too hard for him to bear the separation.
Beabianca had to take him far away from the country to keep him from anything that mind reminds him of his past. She put her career on pause to tend to him. Teaching him that there was more to life than love and he could learn to love again.
She held Joem's hand every moment of every day as Joem learned to walk again. As he learned to dream, hope, and focus on something new. Giving him the strength to move past the heartbreak.
It was the darkest year of Joem's life. Malya narrated it all to Avia. The weight on her heart increased with each tale Malya told. Her throat ran dry. The truth was harsher than she gave it credit for.
Avia felt guilty.
She lived the last few years missing him and praying they meet again. Never once pausing to ask if he was alright after what she did.
Avia wondered. How could she consider her love for Joem to be pure when she never looked back to see if he was okay?
She broke him and someone else picked up the pieces of the mess she created. It hurt.
"Beabianca is not entirely a good person but when it comes to Joem, she means well," Malya admitted. She wouldn't dare say Beabianca was the best choice for Joem as the woman was crazy. However, she respected the bond they shared.
In a world where people don't raise a finger to stand up for their families. She watched Beabianca move heaven and earth for a stranger until Joem became family. There was no right or wrong love. Love is love.
"I won't tell you what to do about your life. Or how to feel about your husband," Malya paused. She held Avia's eyes ensuring she had Avia's full attention before proceeding. "Master Joem might not act like it but he is in love with Beabianca. No matter what happens between you and him, at the end of the day, he will always choose her over you," Malya added.
What Joem shared with Avia was pure love and what he has with Beabianca was the obsessive kind of love. A love that knew no limits. A dangerous kind of love that drove both of them to a point of madness. The two were capable of doing anything for each other. Good and bad, there were no lines.
"I don't know why he loved you however I do know he is in love with, ma'am Beabianca. She makes him feel alive like no one else does," Mayla let out. "He's not with her out of debt or gratitude."
Avia dropped her gaze to the floor. Her heart was unable to bear the truth Mayla told her. She clasped her hands around her legs. She leaned towards Mayla and laid her head on his shoulders nicely.
"How do I convince my heart to let him go?"
