*Bzzzzzzt*
Here is one thing they don't tell you in the movies.
Right now, Glen could not hear anything. He could only hear the buzzing sound in his ears due to firing his rifle countless times.
If you were to shoot without any mufflers, eventually you could even go deaf.
In the best-case scenario, you would have tinnitus. Constantly hearing that buzzing sound for the remainder of your life.
Actually, Glen could still hear one thing.
*Ba-dump*
His heartbeat.
*Ba-dump*
It was beating so fast. Like a mare that was running through the plains.
*Ba-dump* *Ba-dump*
He could feel it.
*Ba-dump* *Ba-dump*
His heart roared in excitement as if it was asking for more.
*Ba-dump* *Ba-dump* *Ba-dump*
He liked it.
*Ba-dump* *Ba-dump* *Ba-dump*
He hadn't felt this way for a long time.
*Ba-dump* *Ba-dump* *Ba-dump* *Ba-dump*
As if he was finally set free after being bound by sturdy chains.
*Ba-dump* *Ba-dump* *Ba-dump* *Ba-dump* *Ba-dump*
"Come at me ye dead b*stards. Hahahaha!"
Glen shouted towards the oncoming zombies with child-like joy.

Ezekiel and the others hastily left the bank and started to head towards the gate. They were going to evacuate the town!
Ezekiel thought this was a waste. According to Glen's plan, he should be able to clear the town of all the zombies. They didn't need to evacuate.
The townsfolk didn't think that Glen actually had the ability to kill all the zombies.
Sure, with this plan he might kill most of them but there would still be stranglers and they didn't want to deal with the aftermath.
Actually, it would be solved easily by Glen telling them his identity but he didn't for some reason.
Ezekiel was not an idiot, so he just kept his mouth shut.
Hearing the gunshots getting faster and faster Ezekiel wanted to turn back immediately and watch that scene.
He was sure that it would be a storm of bullets killing countless zombies. But he couldn't. He still had his own part to play in Glen's plan.
It should have been one of the adults but no one volunteered except for him so it was up to his little shoulders.
"Don't worry about Mr Glen, Ezekiel. Someone should be coming to save us soon" said Ms Wright seeing Ezekiel's longing gaze.
Ezekiel frowned at what she said. What did she mean someone was coming to save them?
Glen was already killing all the zombies. Why did they need someone to save them?
That was when little Ezekiel noticed something.
"But don't I still need to go help Mr Glen according to the plan?" he asked with some agitation in his voice.
"No! It's too dangerous" said Ms Wright.
Hearing that Ezekiel's eyes opened wide. Was she going to abandon Glen?
He immediately tried to stop and go back but Ms Wright caught his arms and started to drag him towards the gate.
"Let me go!" Ezekiel shouted but no one helped him.
According to them, Glen was already dead anyway. There was no need to send someone to go back for him.

Glen threw the rifle in his hands towards the zombies. He was finally out of Rifle bullets.
*Thud*
One of the zombies tripped on the rifle and fell down.
Still, it didn't matter.
Glen drew his navy revolver.
*Bang* *Bang* *Bang* *Bang* *Bang* *Bang*
Six zombies suddenly dropped to the ground, almost as if they were doing a dance choreography.
*Clink* *Clink* *Clink*
The casings fell to the ground in a rhythm as Glen kept running towards the church.
Ugh, that's why he didn't like using his revolver against a horde.
Even if he could aim better and faster with it, it was such a hassle to reload.
Well, at least he had a speed loader that he could use. But he only had three of them. Afterwards, he had to reload each bullet manually. That would be when it would be dangerous for him.
Thankfully, it shouldn't come to that.
*Load*
*Bang* *Bang* *Bang* *Bang* *Bang* *Bang*
Six more zombies fell down to the ground.
*Clink* *Clink*
Now Glen could say with confidence that the horde was getting smaller. He didn't know how many zombies he killed but there was only about eighty or ninety of them left.
Whoa, he should have killed almost two hundred zombies by himself. It was so exhilarating!
*Bang* *Bang*
After reloading Glen shot down two more zombies from the horde. He made sure to kill the fresh ones since they were faster... well, all the slow ones were already left behind anyway so it was not like he had to aim especially for them.
*Clank*
Glen kicked open the church's doors and started running towards the stand.
*Bang* *Bang* *Bang* *Bang*
Four more zombies fell down at the door. Getting stomped by the other zombies that were trying to get inside the church.
Seeing them getting inside which such ferocity, he almost thought it was Black Friday or something.
*Reload*
Glen used his last speed loader. Now, he had to be careful with his aim and only shoot when necessary.
He looked back and saw that window there was broken just like before. So he should be able to escape without any problems.
But he had to wait first.
Wait for all the zombies to come inside, or at least a majority of them.
*Bang* *Bang* *Bang*
Glen Shot down three more zombies that were about to reach him.
Three bullets left!
"Now it is time for the Chekov's Gun!" shouted Glen this was the signal they agreed beforehand.
... However, nothing happened.
He was about to escape through the window when he noticed that.
The zombies were still running towards him like they were on steroids. Almost all the zombies were inside the church!
*Bang* *Bang*
One bullet left!
*Grab*
A grotesque-looking zombie with protruding yellow eyes grabbed Glen's foot trying to drag him inside from the window still.
Glen gave a strong kick that shattered the zombie's yellow rotten teeth that were already falling off.
What was going on?
Did he get betrayed again?
Ha!
Haha!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Of course!
What should he have expected anyway?
Another zombie bit Glen's leg but its teeth didn't pierce through Glen's thick leather pants.
In his desperation, Glen aimed his own navy towards his head.
No!
Even if he was going to die, never in his life was he going to become one of those wretched zombies.
He refused to be one!
As his fingers trembled on the trigger he suddenly aimed towards the wooden pillar of the church.
*BANG!*
This gunshot was louder than everything he heard before.
*BA-DUMP!*
His heart was beating faster than ever!
Even if he was going to die, he was not going away alone!
The last bullet he had passed between the zombies and hit the pillar like it was attracted to it.
*BOOOOM!*
Along with the first one, dynamites tied around the church started to explode one by one in a chain!
A loud sound was heard.
Then the only thing Glen could see before passing out was the flames engulfing everything.
