Of course, as much as he looked forward to a great Back to the Future release, Alexander still has some doubts and reservations about the entire thing.
Back to the Future was a phenomenal hit of the 80s and would grow into a classic trilogy in the decades after that.
It doesn't have a grand cultural effect like Star Wars but it was quite a milestone in film-making... at least that's how Alexander saw it.
After all, he was no film buff with a film major. He just plundered the biggest money-earning movie he could remember.
Now... it was time to test that choice. Whether or not the Creed-version of Back to the Future would be a phenomenal money maker as he'd eagerly plundered it to be.
Hopefully, the film's "past" history would repeat itself. Even more, hopefully, is that the film would surpass that.
Of course, he still had his brows visibly furrowed from all the second-guessing.
These furrowed brows were a stark contrast to the collectedness that Alexander usually portrayed, so it was quite hard to miss... especially for those who knew him well.
------
As the young and old Creed walked together to finally exit the premiere venue and towards their car... the heavy mood that the usually cold Alexander was easily noticed.
"What's got your coolness ruffled, Alex?" Old Sullivan asked with some intrigue. "Tell your grandpa about what's bothering you, so that I can use it to my adva... ahem... so that I can offer up my advice."
"Nothing much." Alexander just said that with some cursory glances at his grandpa's sly ways. He didn't want to give the old Creed a new arsenal to mess things up.
"Are you tired from all the meet and greets you've done?" The Old Creed hypothesized while also said in praise. "Didn't you interact with the likes of a Disney top executive, a considerable sci-fi film director, two top action heroes, and had a romantic bump with THE Drew- the idol of your age group? Of course, you also met with Lucas and Spielberg... albeit in just a passing greeting."
As Sullivan listed those out, he really had to commend his grandson for somewhat coming out of his shell.
Granted, he had minutely convened with the "socializing" boy and already knew some of the reasonings and topics of their interactions.
Eisner's heavy and "threatening" intentions aside, little Alex's discourse with the others was quite fruitful in their own right.
Probably what takes the top is little Drew in Sullivan's opinion. The girl somewhat "fooled" him with a friendship meeting angle but the childish attraction was acceptable as well.
As long as it's harmless... it's okay for him if they do become boy friend and girl friend. The upgraded version involving the spaceless-in-between type of boyfriend and girlfriend need some proper guidelines though.
"Those were quite tiring in my opinion but that's not what's troubling me though." Alexander said his side while also keeping it at that. "This trouble is a me-thing and it's best not to include you."
"Come on..." Old Sullivan egged while voicing his assumptions. "Are you that worried about your supposed play-"date" with Drew Barrymore?"
"Not really..." Sure, the Hollywood child star was messy but Alexander can still handle a child... no matter how clever and ultra-upfront she may be to romance and whatnot. "She's just a hyper version of Milla and I'll probably adjust well when I meet her again."
"Sure, sure..." Old Sullivan grinned with cunning. Hoho... this little grandson of his can probably handle any of the girls in a one-on-one situation. His old bones also knew what his adoptive granddaughter felt about Alex after all... what was to happen when he needed to handle both of them at once?
The Old Creed felt the need to hire a cameraman to record that scenario. That would surely be a recording that would go in his collection but he still had to address the issue. "Well... you still haven't explained why your face is visibly showing worry now? If you don't know... that's quite uncharacteristic of you?"
"Uncharacteristic. I must be quite the one-dimensional character for you to say that." Alexander ribbed but he also knew the truth.
"You sure are." Old Sullivan concurred but he retraced his thoughts to prior instances of Alex being troubled.
Eventually, he remembered the first publication of Dragonball and all the other business endeavors that had made his grandson nervous.
The metaphorical lightbulb eventually lit up and Sullivan knew what made his grandson disturbed. Wasn't it because the Back to the Future film is finally going to show its mettle to the film nation and onwards to the film world?
The Old Creed knew he hit the mark but didn't really feel like celebrating. This first-try nervousness wasn't really anything groundbreaking for Alex's emotion spectrum after all.
"Anyways, if you're truly stressed find something to do... you already know that though, so take this as an old man's nagging reminder." Sullivan left it at that as their ride could finally be within arm's reach and they could head home.
"Yeah... maybe sleep would help me out." Alexander knew what his grandfather meant and just wanted to head into dreamland to keep his mind off of Back to the Future's potential.
Thus, they headed home...
------
Of course, it was only Alexander that was going to be dozing off since the Creed Pictures proprietor was going to be busy keeping track of things.
As much amusing as it is to know that his cold grandson was nervous about their film... the weird grandpa also couldn't deny that he was nervous as well.
This wasn't his first rodeo when it comes to film release and whatnot but this was his first rodeo when it comes to being a film producer and being the owner of the film company that produced the said film.
A lot was riding on this... as this was the Creed return to the film industry that he was driven away from.
This was also a gift to his grandson as well. Perhaps even a tribute and extension of the boy since the entire proceedings were largely inspired by the boy's creative side projects.
Alex's self-given project of Back to the Future picture books were practically the things that sparked things off... and a whole slew of incredibly progressive things happened since then.
Creed Comics, Creed Toys, Creed Costumes, Creed Animations, and the whole lot of Creed legacy companies that fall under the Creed Entertainment umbrella.
Out of all of those... it was his grandson that mostly spearheaded and took the helm on those things. Of course, Old Sullivan knew his major contributions to a lot of those things... but he felt that his grandson was the one truly deserving of those successes.
Now... with Creed Pictures... the Old Creed knew that he needed to step up more and have the first film succeed with flying colors.
He didn't want to prove himself... he wanted to prove his grandson's greatness.
From a simple storytelling seed in the form of a picture book, it will blossom into a mega-tree in the form of a wildly incredible film!
Old Sullivan felt excited and was ready to go all out for the talented grandson he believes in!
