The dinner was done soon with a peaceful silence. After cleaning all the dishes, they sat on the couch sharing what happed in the day. Wang Xin Yi sat in Long Yi Chen's legs while he cuddled her lovingly. Long Yi Chen's head was resting on Wang Xin Yi's shoulder.
"Ah Chen I have something to tell." Wang Xin Yi said beaming with happiness.
"You are finally going to tell me." Long Yi Chen said with amusement.
"Say what??" she asked raising her big doe eyes at him confusedly.
"Reason for that obvious smile in your face baby girl. I notice that smile didn't leave your face throughout the dinner." He said lightly flickering her head.
"Ohh. I smiled like that?" Xin Yi blinked her eyes. "Maybe I did." Then she nodded her head in understandingly.
"So, what happened love?" Long Yi Chen asked hugging her more tightly and showing an expression of listening eagerly.
Grinning stupidly Wang Xin Yi started to tell him, "When I was having my morning lectures a girl came to me. She asked whether she could sit next to me. After I said okay, she reached her hand towards me saying that … she wanted to be friends with me. You know be friends!!! With me!!!" Wang Xin Yi jumped in his arms pointing her hand towards herself and repeated the word "me" few times.
Long Yi Chen felt a pang inside his heart. He felt awfully painful like someone squeezed his heart. He knew from the beginning that his baby girl was somewhat isolated in university. She didn't have much friends. And her being anxious and her PTSD situation made it more difficult. He also knew his identity is also contributed for this. That made it painful to him. He always wanted to let her have a peaceful and worry-free life. But he felt that, he somewhat failed to do it.
Stroking her head loving Long Yi Chen asked, "What's her name?"
"Ling Rou Nan." She said giving a wide smile.
"Hmm. Do you feel happy?" Long Yi Chen asked regardless the smile she gave. Sometimes she smiles even when felt like crying, just to make him reassured. So, every time he would ask, whether she is really happy with what's happening in her life.
"Yeah. Ah Chen I'm so happy!!! But…" her smile dropped suddenly and worry morphed in.
"But what my love? What happened?" He asked turning her sad face towards him.
"Will… Will she get bored with me. Will she leave me eventually? I'm such boring person. I think she will not talk to me after the probation." Dropping her head, she scratched her nails sadly.
"Noo. Baby girl no. Look at me. Hmm." Raising her head by his hands he looked into her doe eyes which are now filled with unshed tears, he said, "who said you're boring? You are not a boring girl. You are my baby doll. Don't underestimate yourself. Hmm? Besides she will love to hang out with her. If she ever stops being friends with you, I guess she must have some serious issues in her IQ and brain. You got me?"
Long Yi Chen's voice was gentle but firm. He didn't let Wang Xin Yi to question herself.
"You're a good friend. Believe it. You are cute, kind, sweet girl. Anyone would like to have you as a friend." He said warmly.
"Really?" opening her doe eyes larger she asked a little skeptically.
"Really."
"Then she will not cut off her friendship with me after probation?"
"She wouldn't."
"Pinky promise?" Wang Xin Yi reached her little finger towards him.
"Pinky promise baby girl." He said smilingly and stamped his finger with him.
Giddily Wang Xin Yi left a small butterfly kiss in Long Yi Chen's left cheek.
"Hahaha." Laughing out loudly Long Yi Chen hugged ger more tightly. Then gave loving kiss on her cheek too.
Suddenly remembering what she said he asked, "Baby doll, what with that probation thing you said?"
"Probation? Ohh… That. I said that we shout hang out first and decide whether we should be friends or not. I was not sure if she'll like to be my friends after getting to know about me further. So, I said that." Wang Xin Yi said dejectedly.
Long Yi Chen sighted at her words.
"It's okay. I think that idea is good too. But the decision of being friends is lie with you not her. Hang out and decide if she is good enough be your friend." Long Yi Chen agreed. He always paid close attention to the people Wang Xin Yi acquitted as he is afraid of her innocent will harm her.
"Let's sleep early today." Seeing that Wang Xin Yi started to nodding off sleepily Long Yi Chen carried her toward the room.
