With monsters, their bodies and cores can be consumed by humans and other monsters in order to increase attributes, skills, and comprehension. The elk did not seem to have any attribute other than a physical attribute. Thus, it's above average bulkiness.
Ash watched the two beasts' fight; the elk was mopping the floor with the panther. The panther could defend due to its improved vision, and this helped it avoid getting gouged.
Nonetheless, it was still getting big cuts; the elk on the other hand wasn't even injured. It had most definitely been through a variety of fights for it to so easily deal with the panther.
A few minutes later and the panther was stomped on by the elk. The heavy hooves landed on the spine, instantly killing it. The elk merely kicking the corpse into the distance as if to express it's disdain.
Ash hesitated before deciding that this meat was worth the risk and prepared for battle. Ash pulled out his saber and rushed forward commanding Grim to fly in the sky and attack from behind.
Grim readied his claws with [blood let], his claw gaining a blood red hue. Ash rushed forward with all the speed he could muster; the elk already noticed him. He continued to move forward and right before the antlers had a chance to hit him, he came to a complete halt.
He spun the moment he was in attacking distance, moving from a head on attack to an attack on the elk's side. The elk used it's long legs giving it enough room to dodge Ash's attack. However, it did not catch Grim's sneak attack in time. It took a nasty cut to the butt.
It let out a scream before trying to kick Ash, which he quickly dodged. The elk was furious and let out a noise before stomping down.
The muscles on it's legs contracted and the ground beneath had cracks spreading from the area of impact. Ash tried to back up but he tripped over the spreading cracks in the ground.
Grim helped him by swooping down and pulling him upright with his talons. The elk charged as it's antlers and hooves glowed. Ash used two [Crescent Slashes] which slowed the beast down a little bit.
He then had Grim move up into the air while he held onto his little legs. It wasn't feasible to do this for more than a few seconds but it was enough to dodge out of the way of the attack.
Ash watched as the elk mowed past the area he was at and slam into a tree. The tree was uprooted; the elk's charge did not end as it turned and charged again. Ash commanded Grim to perform a claw strike on the legs of the elk after he brought the thing to a stop.
Ash stepped forward and put his saber in the sheath. He gripped the hilt with all of his might and gathered all the energy he had. This technique was called [Flash Point], it was an attack that would focus all of his power into one stab.
It also gave him amazing accuracy at the contact point he was aiming for.
After the stabbing out, a circle formed on the place he chose to stab visible only to him, hitting with pinpoint accuracy. One stab and he cut deep into the elk's eye, Ash yanked it out with similar speed.
The charge was put off kilter and the beast fell to the ground on it's side; it dragged a long line in the dirt. Grim flew up to garner speed and swooped down targeting the elk's legs as it used [claw swipe] and [blood let] together.
It's talons grew and emit a reddish-white glow. The raven successfully cut the back two knees open as blood spewed out. The elk let out a bellow as a robust light covered it's body. The bleeding stopped and the beast scrambled to its feet quickly.
