[Hark]
My head flies off from my body.
Damn it! I was using a dark stealth skill to hide my presence. How did she find me? Not even a skilled holy knight could track me that easily.
I can't believe she decapitated me! There is no way that I will go down here. We have to follow his plans for his sake.
"Demonic cataclysm!"
[Vermil]
I think I'm at my limit. My mana has run dry due to [Sight of Valkeryun] and I might not be able to run much. I stop and rest after I take him down. However, oddly enough, his aura is still present and there is no EXP update.
I have to slash him one more time to make sure he is dead!
To my surprise, the demon's body releases dark lightning that crackles around him creating a electric blast that pushes me away.
After being blown away, I plant my feet on the ground to stop being pushed.
With a gasp, I put my daggers up in a fighting stance to prepare for attack. He is currently hidden by a thick dust in the air.
I can only use the [Eyes of Valkeryun] right now and its less superior than the [Sight of Valkeryun] but I can see his form. He grows three times in size. His has now three demonic crow heads and whose body is a bulky humanoid with dark steel-like feathers that it could be an armor. "Plague Knight Conqueror!"
There is one thing I learned from these demons. Not only they can enhance their abilities, they can also transform. The demon laughs with arrogance. "You are the first human who I have to use this ability. My name is Hark, a Middle-Class Warrior Demon and also a skilled strategist in the demon army. You, I recognize your ability human, state your name."
Now he's asking for my name?
".y name is Vermil. And I hate folks like you who hurts our friend." I say coldly.
"Human, crossing paths with us is your misfortune. Knowing our full power, you and your master will regret it. Especially, Rixer's death. He was a great loss. He is an indispensible part of the demon army, especially to the demon lord."
Rixer?
The demon fierces his demon eyes at me. "Human, most likely it may be you who slew him with your strength?"
I touch my chin trying to remember my opponent. "I'm not sure but I think it was a demon who can control shadows. He was a tough opponent."
"Oh, Agravil. Well, we can afford to lose him since he was a bastard. And this tells me there are more people like you out there."
Something about what he says annoys me. "Is that how you refer to your friend?"
Hark laughs haughtily. "Friend? We have no time for such matters. This is just business. However, state where your allies are or I'll make you."
I want to fight him quick and end this, however, my body feels heavy for some reason. Am I reaching my limit?
"Vermil... was it? I guess I will have to kill you to compensate for Rixer's death. Well, I doubt the Overlord will care since they are usually assholes."
I grit my teeth from annoyance. "Don't compare my brother to you demons!"
"Brother? Hahaha, then this gives me more reason to take you down. I will you beat you here and use you as a bargaining chip. You won't be escaping from me."
To my surprise, several of his steel-feathers gather uniformly to form a long, flexible sword. "Plague Bringer!" He says while holding the sword. He then poses to strike while gathering dark energy on the sword.
I have to dodge!
To my surprise, I find it hard to move now. I guess the previous fight really took a toll from me.
The demon raises his flexible sword as he laughs, flaunting his power. "Death Call!"
He swings it at my direction, releasing a flying black slash that dissolves anything in its path. I will take considerable damage if I get hit! I have to---
My legs can't keep up in time! This is bad!
Out of nowhere, Levia appears in front of me. She raises her hand as though to counter-act the attack.
It looks like I'm saved.
Levia slams against the dark slash as she shields on it using the palm of her hand. She grits her teeth as she tries to stop it on its tracks. Even she is having a hard time.
However, after a second, with a deep breath, the dark slash was swallowed into her hand and disappeared.
Levia looks over her shoulder to raise a reassuring smile. "It looks like I arrived on time. I can't let something bad happen to my Lord's sibling after all."
I gasp and smile warmly. "Levia!" I don't know much about her since she was hidden most of the time in the dungeon but I like her now. I leap and hug her tightly, sinking my head unto her chest and rubbing on it.
[Levia]
Vermil is quite a sweet girl. I can't afford to have her in a bad condition for my Lord's sake. I'm glad I made it in a perfect timing. Now, then...
I tighten my gaze on the demon in front of us. "Demons from Helis. What's your business here in Munren? And why do you need these red stones?" I show him a blood red gem.
The demon laughs as though dismissing my question. "A galkin, huh? You are the second one I saw thus far in Munren."
It looks like I have a sibling here somewhere, but it is irrelevant. I'm not interested in my family.
"Well, I demand your answer."
"Hahaha, any answer that will come from my mouth is pointless. That's because you are already dead." He says coldly as he points to my arm.
Vermil says while startled. "Levia, your arm!"
My hand has darkened to that of a charcoal. It was the arm that I used to absorb his attack. Slowly, its spreading on my arm, heading to my shoulder. Even my fingers are starting to crumble.
That attack that I absorb, don't tell me it had some dark infection spell. The spell that I used to absorb his attack was to convert the magic back to its harmless mana form. This demon is something else to neglect this property.
"Galkin, you underestimated me! Because of you that your death will be your consequences."
First I use my pain nullification spell. Then with one deep breath, I use the claws from my functioning hand and sink it on my shoulder, detaching my infected arm off with a slash.
"Levia!" Vermil says worriedly.
"I'm fine. I don't feel any pain just now. I can handle this!"
I take a deep breath and straighten my back. Vermil walks away to a safe distance, giving me space. Regardless, I'm quite annoyed right now.
I gaze at him piercingly.
The demon laughs as though mocking me. "Removing your arm, huh? That's smart move but will you survive my next attack."
[Hark]
Before Lord Fagrusil found me, I was one of the most deadly demon clans, the Skull Crow. Even though it is a small clan, our names were feared. Our unique spell, the absolute pestilence, that even with dark magic immunity, nothing can resist it. However, the Skull Crow ceased to exist when a member betrayed us to a High Ranking demon lord.
Lord Fagrusil was my savior. Despite being not a demon lord at that time, he gave me purpose.
I've been serving my lord for how many decades now. And I will plan to do so in the near future. With his plan, nothing can stop us in this world.
Right now, the galkin woman shows her purple colored eyes at me, burning in rage. Well Galkins are strong but this one has deteriorated, so she is just acting tough and don't stand a chance. She has already lost an arm.
"That's a strong determination! I can't wait to break it!"
Summoning my hundreds of my demon crows, they are launching in every directions. These crows carry the pestilence curse spell, touching them will infect her body and make her die brutally.
However, the Galkin woman is calm. She eyes each crows fiercely causing them to get squashed in mid-air one by one for mysterious reason instantly.
Is that her ability? What did she do?
I have to stop her!
Readying my sword, I quickly become frozen in place. As if something is holding me on my position.
What's going on? I can't move!
Regardless, even if she destroy this body, I won't die. I'm basically immortal as long as I protect my heart. My heart is inside a demon crow that is hiding somewhere far away from here. It's on a safe spot.
In an instant, the Galkin woman flies across me, slashing my chest. However, I feel no pain.
But there is something concerning. A semi-transparent aetherial string comes out my chest. She grabs it with her hand and leaps away from me. The string is directly connected to my body.
With confidence, she grins. "You have underestimated me demon. I will remind you of your place. Not to mention, you owe me an arm. You will pay with this." She swallows the string that is connected to me.
Right now, the string from her chest and to mine are connected.
I can't touch the string. It seems to be in a spiritual form of some sort. I have a bad feeling about this.
"You cur! What are you planning to do?!"
She gives a chuckle before summoning a semi-transparent sphere around her. "Sphere of Authority, determination script." She mutters.
Huh?!
Without hesitation, she uses her sharp claws to sink on her chest and gouge her heart out.
For some reason, I cough and fall on my knees as an immense pain assaulted my chest.
Bastard! So that was the purpose of the string. She can transfer her pain and damage to my body. What a fearsome ability.
"Galkin woman, I demand a truce! Wait---"
However, from her eyes. Without hesitation, she squashes the heart causing her blood to gush out. I quickly fall as I feel cold.
This can't be---
A thousand years of planning and this is how it ends!
[Levia]
The indomitable spirit fibers allows my spirit to connect with my enemy. Once I consume a fragment of the enemies soul, my physical state and the enemies' are now in resonance frequency, thus damaging myself will also do the same with my enemy. Which is why I have the sphere of authority, the field of undoing, to undo the damage as well as pain nullification. Inside the sphere, I'm basically immortal.
However, there is a price to pay for this ability. Everytime I activate the spirit fibers, a crack occurs on my spirit. If I'm careless, my whole spirit might shatter. This ability is only for last my resort.
