Chereads / My Clone System: You thought I was the Weakest / Chapter 60 - The Monster on the Surface

Chapter 60 - The Monster on the Surface

[Minnerva]

After that event, I escaped the village with my sister and we lived on a different camp in secrecy from the Silver Village.

Carrying a basket filled with fruits, I'm going to the Infinite Dungeon and give my offering.

At some point, I finally arrived on the Infinite Dungeon tower. I can already see it sticking out over the forest.

And then I found a blue-haired cute girl with long hair.

A human, huh? What is she doing alone in the depth of the forest? Is she an adventurer who got separated from her comrades.

Regardless, the biggest threat are nor the monsters but my clan members I have to warn her!

[Vermil]

I thought the monsters on the surface would be more fun than the dungeon, but it was disappointing.

I fought different monsters like the [Green Muck: Level 40] or the [Speedilligator: Level 60] but they were incredibly slow. I can cut their bodies into 180 pieces before they can even take one step.

I sigh. If only Ren didn't leave, I would have someone to play with.

Right now, I'm just doodling on the dirt. I'm drawing a stick figure of me, my brother, Levia and Ren, holding hands together. I guess this is more fun than battling those slowpokes.

On the distance, a girl is approaching me. She's the same age as my brother, only she has weird wolf silver ears and a tail.

I never saw someone like her before. I think she is not a human. Regardless, she seems pretty and strong. I wonder if I will have fun if we fight together.

She comes near with a worried look. "Human, you should leave while you still can. There are dangerous monsters here and also there are my people."

I guess she is only concerned about me. I think she's a good person.

"Don't worry, I'll be fine here besides I'm waiting for someone."

"I see, is that so."

"By the way, can I ask you a question. You don't seem to be a human." I say as I point to her fluffy silver tail.

She nods, "I come from the Silver Claw Clan and I am of the werewolf race."

[Minnerva]

I guess she hasn't seen a werewolf before.

"Werewolf, huh? Awesome. Hey, can I touch your tail? It looks so fluffy." She speaks enthusiastically.

I'm quite reluctant since werewolves especially women can be sensitive in those parts. However, there's no way I can turn down those bright eyes. "A-alright."

She comes behind me before I even notice. "Eh?"

She begins hugging my tail and stroking it with a cute look. "Your tail is so fluffy and puffy. Fluffy and puffy. Fluffy and puffy..."

The way she strokes it is gentle and warm. I can't help but blush since its turning me on in the wrong directions. "Kyah." I let out a cute moan which I quickly sealed my mouth.

That was embarassing. If others were here what would they say? That I would get turned on by the mere stroking of my tail.

I wish for this to end quicker.

"Umm, human, I didn't ask for your name."

"Vermil!"

"Well Vermil, my name is Minnerva. I think that would be enough. Can you get off my tail now?"

"No."

I sigh as I struggle to contain the excitement.

At some point, she eventually fell asleep and used my tail as her pillow.

I can't believe this girl. She is like a child. I wonder how an innocent girl like this is fine after wondering in this area. I guess the world is just mysterious.

I move her head out of my tail and place it gently on the flower bed area.

I have to deliver my offering after all.

Placing the basket filled with food such as meat and fruits, I then pray to the true Eastern Overlord.

[Leon]

Right now, we are approaching the ancient Fort of Hertfil. This used to be a defensive fort against the monsters from the east, but after it got abandoned, it became a city for adventurers. This was a good resting place before they commence their raids, and a good place for us to gather intel.

This is the last city of the east as far as we know.

We are riding some horses as we are drawing near the fort. The caravan includes me, Garfurd, Nathan, Kezia and Rendon.

On the palm of my hand rests, the red gem the size of a pebble.

The president told me that she acquired this from the researcher that had escaped, she heard some intel that its manufacturing is somewhere right here. This is where I should investigate, especially the rumors about the Neo-Infitius.

I shall tread carefully from here on.

The city is bustling with adventurers. There are stalls and shops on the sides with meat from different kinds of monsters. They are also selling items and potions on the stores which are rare and isn't usually sold on cities.

Walking on the street, one can see various adventurers with unique style and weapons. Most of the adventurers here are B-class, there are even some S-class adventurers here.

I'm glad that we are finally able to reach a settlement.

[Verni]

Looks like this is the city, huh?

This seems to be an ancient fort. But there are citizens in this place.

Levia and I land nearby and proceed to the city. However, the first two people who look like adventurers widen their eyes upon seeing us.

"Mo-monsters!"

Monsters? Do I really look that bad?

Then several adventurers as well draw their swords and surround us.

They look frightened and wary of our presence.

Looks like getting into the city won't be easier than I thought, huh?

I use my scan upon these adventurers. One is level 60, the others are around level 50 to 40. They probably don't pose a threat but the problem is I won't be able to go inside this city and gather intel. They might attack me out of fear.

Well, this is a problem. If they attack me here and I kill someone, I might get branded as a criminal and I won't be allowed to enter this city.

One adventurer plunges his blade in a suicidal charge. "Damn, you monsters!"

Levia is just beside me. She glares at the adventurers with her eyes in bloodlust. She is ready to attack at any time.

As though instantly, the adventurers arms got cut off. His blood gushes out of his stump. He screams in agony. "My arm! My arm!"

Levia snorts as though looking down on him. "You lowly humans of Munren, you dare draw your swords on the Eastern Overlord?"

Damn, I can't let people know that I'm here.

I gesture for Levia to come to me. "Levia."

She comes to me with a lightened expression. "What is it my lord?"

I flicked Levia's forehead, causing her to rub it. "Geez, what was that for my lord."

"Levia, don't just give out information that casually. If the words get out it might cause a chaos. Overlords are pretty big deal right?"

Well, whatever I will just have to erase their memories. For now, how do I quell this adventurers?

Levia shows a menacing grins as she faces them. "My lord should we just kill them all? That might be faster."

"No, we can't kill them. What do you think will happen if we do? More people will flock here and investigate. Let's just make sure we get some intel quietly."

"How are we going to do that?'

I raise the edge of my lips with confidence. "I have a plan."

Right now, they are tending to their comrade which had lost two arms, which was pretty brutal thing to do.

They are more wary now hearing my identity. "We can't possibly win against an Overlord."

"Damn, why is he here? And why now of all time? I thought he was sealed."

"What should we do?"

"Let's retreat for now and report to the church."

I can't let them do that.

I have this item which is called the [Infinitium Mask]. It is an item I acquired from Sagus. It has the special item skill which is called as the [Imposing Will].

Basically, I send out my mana around me, like a pale cloud that expands quick in all directions. This will cause them to lose consciousness if their mind won't be able take it.

Just like that, the adventurers around us fall unconscious. I then come to the adventurer in which his hands got severed and poured a healing potion on him.

[Item name: True Healing Potion]

This healing potion was concocted by myself on my journey towards the Golden potion. I tested on myself quite a bit but I won't see its effects unless I try it on someone else. This is a good experiment session, I can say.

Nonetheless, it's impressive to see that his arms are regenerating.

Levia is amused seeing the potion. "I didn't know healing potions could do that."

"So did I."

I consumed some of Flowey's remains and gained the ability, [Memory Rewrite]. Basically, I can rewrite the memories of my target with low enough tolerance and resistance.

I try to hold their heads and use my skill. I will just erase their memories of my name.

We quickly left afterward and head into the city. As expected there are platoons of them waiting just on the gates of the city. They have their weapons ready as though they already expect us.

That was weird, how did they expect our arrival?

[Answer. Adventurers have a passive skill [Monster and Darkness Status Awareness]. Depending on the level and strength of the monster or the entity with a Darkness Status, the faster they would be detected.]

I see...

No wonder, well then. I would like to have this city for myself for now. I grin cheekily as I look down upon them.

[Hans]

We draw our blades as we sense an odd presence approaching the Fort. This one isn't natural. It feels like a presence of hundreds and thousands of monsters meshed into a one person. Worse, this ominous feeling is making me sweat and my legs feel weak.

"Everyone, those who are B class adventurers and below, leave!"

Hearing it, those with lower ranks left. They can already sense the danger. Along my side is an adventurer with mage class who's name is Levana. She is an S-class adventurer who used to party with a legendary adventurer.

"Sir Hans, I experienced this feeling 3 years ago, but somehow this is different. This is even more dangerous. I suggest everyone should leave here."

"What are you saying Miss Levana, as an A-class adventurer, I also have my pride."

[Levana]

I'm afraid the same thing can happen like few months ago. I need them to move out so I can carry out my revenge. I haven't been doing nothing but training and trying things out just to avenge Gendrid.

Whatever his plan on the city is, he will pay!

I grip my staff firmly and aim it where he will appear, and that is on the gates.

Hans just on my side falls to the ground. The other adventurers as well and before I know it, I'm the only one left standing.

However, I'm can feel it. It's making me sick.

Others may not be able to see it, but I can see a dense cloud of mana covering a wide area. I feel like throwing up. This ominous mana is probably the thing that is knocking out the adventurers.

I pant as I cast my spell, "Mind Purity."

A slight buff spell to resist this strong aura that can affect our consciousness. I feel a lot better now but it's only temporary and not enough. It feels like I'm sitting on a raft riding on a stormy sea.

Afterward, I hear some footsteps. Judging the sound, I can hear two people. One has a majestic robe and a mask while the other a woman but at the same time isn't human.

The woman chuckles menacingly, "my lord, looks like there is someone who can resist your ability."

This person may have a mask and a robe but it's not him who killed Gendrid. Even then, I need to protect myself.
