Chapter 50 - The Deceit

[Shira]

No, that would be impossible, I mean Myla is dead. Besides this one feels stronger and is ozzing a sense of malice.

I land besides the vampire and we exchange blows, she dodges most of the attacks while blocks the rest. I can tell she's a woman especially with the grace of her movements.

Most of all this person is strong!

"Leon, I'll let you handle the Researcher!"

[Leon]

"Coming!"

Right now, the old man is in a vulnerable position. I leap towards the old man who is crawling away from me from fear. "Geh!" He squeals from me trying to get away.

Right now, we are all on the roof.

But to my surprise, three robed cloak surrounded the old man as though to protecting him.

"Va-vampires, protect me!" He stammers.

One vampire raise his hand, then transforms his arm into a giant dark smoke and elongates into my direction as though trying to capture me.

Shit!

The hand is too big for me to block. After getting caught, he clenches my body forcefully with his large and powerful shadow fingers. I shout from my pain as my bones begin to make a cracking sound. I try to stab the arm but it seems my blade can't even cut it.

The giant dark arm then slams me down upon the roof violently, causing it to crumble and I fall below.

[Shira]

"Leon!"

Just for a fraction of a seconds when my attention was taken away, the opponent kicks my gut causing me to slide backwards.

With a stomp, I stop sliding back.

We won't gonna allow them to take the Researcher before Julius comes.

Most of all this is the first time where I'm having a hard time from the enemy. Garfurd was right, the Neo-Infitius just might be worse than the former cult.

I aim my sword at her. "Who are you? And what does your organization want?"

The robed vampire is silent. Her hood is down thus I can't see her face.

"You're not gonna answer me, huh? Then I'll just have to capture you."

Using my skill, the [Divine Blades], 12 majestic blades materialize around me, revolving. The blades fly at my discretion. Like bullets, I shot them at the vampire in which she jumped back to dodge them, the swords then dive down hitting through the roof.

As I thought, she has the speed to dodge them. But what she doesn't know is that I can still command my blades as long as they are intact.

The blades that are flying below the roof will take a curved turn then go up, towards her from where she stands.

It gets her by surprise in which she manages to avoid but its just a hairbreadth as it passes over her chin.

Seeing an opening, I shot the rest of my blades into her direction.

Just as when it is about to get her. Few tentacular demons materializes from her shadow and deflected the blades.

No doubt. This is the same skill as what Myla had 3 years ago. But these dark tentacles look heavier and stronger than the tentacles Myla had from before.

Damn it!

I was holding back since I intend to capture her but this might be a problem. I guess I'll have to be serious and take her out with an intention of killing her.

[Absolute Judgement] A skill that increases my agility for 200% and increases my attack exponentially to those that I deem an enemy.

This is one of my strongest skills. I defeated several general monsters that are stronger than me with this skill. However, there is a condition. My heart must know for certain that without a doubt that the target is an enemy, with or without my knowledge.

The vampire performs hand gestures as she manipulates the tentacles to strike towards me but with my increased speed, I evade her tentacles, and then appear behind her.

Using [Absolute Judgement], I then swing strongly at her.

She rotates swiftly to face me and uses her sharp nails to stop my attack by blocking my sword which takes me by surprise. The skill that I cast seems to have lost its power upon coming into contact with her. Then there is only one explanation.

It can't be!

I don't fully see her as an enemy? Then who is she? It can't be!

Several tentacles strike my body violently, causing me to fly across houses slamming me over several walls.

There is no way that I don't deem her as a true enemy. I mean Myla's dead, there's no way that she's alive.

A ghost female samurai as tall as three person appear after breaking the roof. She is hovering in mid-air and carries Leon on her shoulder. She is carrying two long samurais from each hand.

[Leon]

This floating ghost female samurai is my skill. I summoned [Onna-Musha Omo] so I can deal with these annoying vampires. Anyway, I can't believe the class president would get blown away. I never saw her on the losing side besides the creepy red robed man from before. Her opponent must be quite tough.

Three vampires leap up from the roof and use their fingernails to attack me. Onna uses her giant katanas to blow them away as they tried to block it. Looks like with my Onna Musha I can drive them away.

Seeing the president's situation, I have to help her and take out their leader.

When I was about to come close to the president to save her, the three vampires show up around me again.

I can't believe they are so stubborn. They attack me consecutively as though giving me no chance to save the president.

"Don't interfere against their fight!" Says one vampire stopping me from helping the president, and it sounds like she is a girl.

"Shut up!" I yell.

Onna-Musha then swings her katana at them, blowing them away causing them to get pummeled towards the houses below. Also, it seems they are all women from their squeals.

Onna is strong but the mana for summoning her takes toll. I need to deal with these guys and save the president before my time runs out.

To my surprise, the three vampires stand up and are ready to fight again.

"Ugh! Seriously?"

[Shira]

The robed vampire holds the researcher with one hand, carrying him. I can't lose him. Just when we are about to get an important lead.

I dash towards the vampire and ready my blade, but afterward a tentacle appear from below me as though materializing from my shadow, lashing at my body causing me to get fling towards a wall.

I cough hard as I slam.

That caught me off guard. I didn't know those tentacles could get summoned even from my own shadows.

[Researcher]

Finally, the vampires sent by my lord has come to save me. Those two imperial dogs were annoying. I'm gonna get out of here.

"Hey vampire, what are you doing? Let's get out of here while we still can."

"Not yet."

I manage to peek through her hood. As they say, the scarlet queen is a beautiful woman. She's a pale skinned woman with purple hair. Her looks look cold and determined.

"What do you mean you don't?! You speak too highly despite being a demon slave!"

Her scarlet eyes pierce through my soul like dagger which causes my legs to shiver, thus I remain quiet.

That's right, they are just slaves of the demon, yet they are still frightening. The scarlet queen is the leader of these vampire squad.

I mean she never even showed signs of weariness fighting against the True Hero that is feared by the darkness that plagued this land. Even though I'm saved, I still fear for my life.

A terrifying presence appear over us. He flies in mid-air with a wide shadowy pair of wings. He holds a thick book with one hand to his side. He has a black dashing hair with a cheeky look. He has demonic horns on his head. He is dressed elegantly in dark suit.

He claps nonchalantly between the lines of mockery and appreciation.

"Good job Scarlet, or should I say Myla the vampire. It would please me and Lord Fagrusil if you hand over the researcher. He is an extremely valuable asset."

I nod upon the words of the demon officer. He indeed says some wise words.

Now vampire, hand me over!

"Keith, remember we had a deal." Says the Scarlet.

"Of course, of course. Near the red cliffs, you will find the Scarred Bandits there."

Without some care, Scarlet threw me towards the demon like a ragdoll. I yell screaming. "Ahhh!" But eventually Keith catches me.

Afterward, I pant. For some reason, I'm more at ease being in the possession of the demon than that vampire.

The demon Keith sighs, "Myla, show some concerns for our researcher."

"Don't call me by that name." She responds coldly with some hint of annoyance.

Silently, Scarlet turns around and non-chalantly walks away.

[Shira]

While panting, I block the path of the vampire not allowing her to make another step. I hold my sword and face her. "You won't be going anywhere!"

Looking around, Leon is fighting against three vampires while my master is dealing with another. I didn't realize vampires were this strong.

Most of all, that person flying above us. His presence is terrifying that we haven't encountered before. He is completely on another level.

What's more, I've heard something that I'm not sure whether my ears decieved me.

"Why did he call you Myla?"

She stares to the ground as though pondering then she faces me. "Well, I wonder."

That voice no doubt. It's only a little cold but I can recognize that voice.

I grit my teeth. "Myla, you're alive?"

"Do not call me by that name. The one that you refer has already died." She raises her hood letting me see her face well.

My jaw falls seeing her face.

She may look paler and her eyes are fiercer now but she's definitely Myla. She has become more vampire-like as well from her appearance.

I have my jaws agape from surprise, and my arms fall to the sides along with my sword. I lost the will to fight.

"Myla! Why are you here? How come you are still alive?"

Her scarlet eyes pierce me. "I told you didn't I? My name is scarlet the one that you refer to as Myla has already died."
